The QPRebuild

Don't get your hopes up mate. I've had constant takeover rumours for nearly 4 years on my Swansea career and still never happened....even had the promise of a potential tycoon at some point and I thought I was going to be in a position to really splash the cash, but those dreams were all quickly scuppered.

Well after this I haven't advance the date yet so I have no idea what will come out but I can't say it wouldn't be nice if it happened.

September 2023

First game of the season and first win of the season to QPR. Valera, Patino and Chair scored the goals for us. From what the team showed in this game, this season may be even better than the last one.

1689973723951.png

Well, that didn't last long did it... We lost 3-1 to a team playing on the division below us in a game in which I used our second team because of the proximity between games.

1689973774758.png

We then draw against Sheffield United at Loftus Road in a very boring game.

1689973801057.png

And we followed it with another loss, this time against West Brom. Once again, very poor game from our team.

1689973838900.png

Valera and Patino made our game against Coventry easier for a change of pace though.

1689973902847.png

Just after the end of the summer transfer window, we lose at out home against a newly promoted team. This time we were the better team but we just couldn't score.

Transfer business

There were 2 new signings I made in deadline day.

1689973973126.png

The first one was Nile John. A player for the future who joins us from Spurs for a fee of 300k. Has good potential so hopefully he will develop nicely.

1689974017494.png

Steven Alzate also joined our team after terminating his contract at Brighton. I think he adds a lot of quality to our midfielder.

Random stuff

1689974107858.png

Well I wasn't really expecting it to end in a different way but this is it.

November 2023

1690026706409.png

After the disappointing results we got on our last few matches, we went to Blackpool and beat them 3-1. Lameiras, Jean-Lucas and Mercau scored our goals.

1690026778662.png

We then drew against Blackburn after a penalty on the 78th minute in which they equalized. It was a very balanced game so a draw was the fair result. Our goals were scored by Valera.

1690026871018.png

We followed it with a 4-2 win against Sheffield Wednesday in a very good game from our team. We had 25 shots, 9 on target. Quaresma and Alzate scored 1 each and the other 2 were scored by Valera.

1690027010714.png

Another win and another 4 goals scored against Huddersfield. Valera was once again on fire, scoring 3 goals. The other was scored by Chair in the 91st minute.

1690027065284.png

Another win against Watford at Vicarage Road, Chair and Valera once again deciding the game.

1690027116875.png

Due to the proximity between the games, we had to change our entire team for the game against Ipswich and it showed. We weren't nearly as effective, only shooting 9 all game and we only drew the game because Valera scored in the 75th minute, 2 minutes after coming in.

1690027208469.png

We seem to be unstoppable when we are at full strenght as we beat the newly relegated Southampton. Alex Valera scored another decisive goal.

1690027607324.png

Finally, we beat Hull City on the 1st of November with goals from Chair and Richards in another very good performance.

September/October PotM

1690027667084.png

I think it couldn't be anyone else. Valera scored 11 goals in the last 8 games. In fact, there were only 2 games in the last 2 months in which he didn't score. He has 14 goals in the league so far, being the best scorer with 6 more goals than the 2nd best.

League Table

1690027831878.png

We currently sit in the 1st position of the league but I don't like to judge anything this early.

Schedule

1690027913592.png

Well, it will be a couple of fun months before the January transfer window. We have 12 more games to play in 2 months so I don't really expect our form to keep as good as it is right now.

1st January 2024

1690132541939.png

We followed our last game with a 1-1 draw against Bristol City. They scored first in the 72th minute and Patino equalized for us on the 87th. Forshaw missed a penalty on the 59th and could have cost us the result here.

1690132650492.png

We bounced back against Millwall at Loftus Road. Valera scored the first and Richards scored the second. The third was an own goal in a very confusing play in Millwall's box.

1690132740208.png

We were forced to play our second team on the next match but it still wasn't enough for us to lose against Plymouth. Jean Lucas, Rodrigo and Chair scored our goals.

1690132800000.png

With our first team on the field we had to rely on a penalty to beat Middlesbrough, scored by Richards on the 38th minute.

1690152432246.png

Unfortunately, our second team lost against Luton after Richards scored another penalty, 10m after they scored the second.

1690152511204.png

Richards then gave us the win against Sunderland in the first 12m of the game.

1690152578715.png

On the next game, we defeated Cardiff with 2 goals from Varela and another from Patino in a very good performance from our team.

1690152644128.png

The proximity between games got us again against Burnley. Our second team could only score 1 goal against the hat-trick of Maupay. Rodrigo scored our only goal this game.

1690152717233.png

Valera and Patino once again gave us the win against Preston when Valera scored in the 84th minute.

1690152771559.png

We then beat Stoke 2-1 with goals from Chair and Lameiras who gave us the win on the 87th minute on a penalty shot.

1690152831152.png

We then beat Cardiff 3-1 once again but this time on their home ground, with goals from Moya, Valera and Poveda.

1690152891469.png

Sheffield Wednesday almost gave us a hard time here when they scored the first goal of the match on the 71st minute. Fortunately for us, late goals from Valera in the 85th and Lameiras in the 88th gave us a disearved win.

1690152967903.png

The last game played was another win against Huddersfield on the 1st of January. Rodrigo scored the goal on the 54th minute.

League Table

1690153093276.png

We are still in the 1st place even after 2 long months filled with matches. We now have a 10 point lead and promotion seems more likely with every game we play. We just need to keep our good form on the second half of the season and we will be back in the Premier League.

November/December PotM

1690153223932.png

This time it wasn't so easy to pick a player who stood out. We had Richards, Lameiras, Valera, Patino and even Rodrigo who all were on top level. In the end, I chose Richards because he created a lot of chances for himself and for the others even if most didn't end up with a goal for the team.

Schedule

1690153337039.png

This next few months are not as crazy as the last few but we still have 10 games to play until March. After we get there we should be on an easier schedule because there are a lot less games to be played. Hopefully we are able to keep the good form.

Finances

1690153462857.png

Our finances reached the negative once again but I don't really want to sell anyone this transfer window. The only players I am willing to let go are Regan Poole and Paul Smyth since they both asked to leave.

I'm also not looking to strenghten any area in particular but if I see any good businesses I will go for them.

Youth Intake

1690153596783.png

We don't talk about this.

28th February 2024

1690630031929.png

After our last match we ended our good run in Ipswich with a 3-1 loss. Hojlund scored our only goal on the 88th minute after we were already down 3-0.

1690630100528.png

We followed that result with a more positive one agaist Wolves for the FA Cup. Nothing to tell about this match.

1690630139058.png

We showed our best once again against Watford with a 3-0 win. Chair, Patino and Lameiras all scored on the 2nd half.

1690630191293.png

Unfortunatelly we couldn't carry the performance against Wolves and got eliminated from the FA Cup. Our goal was scored by Chair.

1690630314838.png

Wr followed it with another loss, this time for the Championship against Southampton. Very poor performance from us.

1690630387258.png

A serie of bad results continues as we can't go beyong a draw against Bristol. Goals scored by Patino on the 2nd minute and Hojlund.

1690630476513.png

We finally got a win against Blackpool but we really only played well on the 1st half. The goals were scored by Alzate and the other two were scored by Valera.

1690630538747.png

Another win against Blackburn. Gyomber scored on the 34th minute and Blackburn immediately scored to equalize. Richards gave us the win on the start of the second half.

1690630635711.png

Back to the draws against Oxford as the newly promoted team already gave us 2 bad games this season.

1690630665010.png

And another 0-0 draw agaist Hull City continues our bad(ish) phase.

1690630697831.png

We got over Millwall once again with a 3-1 win. Lameiras, Valera and Poveda scored our goals.

League Table and Schedule

1690630792702.png

We are still 1st but our lead is now only 5 points.

1690631008862.png

We have 11 more games to the season and there are no easy games so we need to be at our best to be able to get to the Premier League.

11th May 2024

1690645173097.png

We followed our good performances against Plymouth at Loftus Road. Goals scored by Valera (3) and Richards.

1690645238652.png

Another 4-1 win at Loftus Road this time against Middlesbrough. Our goals were scored by Valera, Quaresma, Richards and Chair.

1690645303332.png

Our winning streak was over when we faced Luton. Richards scored on the 88th minute after Luton scored on the 84th and being down one player when Gyomber decided to try to end the career of their attacker.

1690645432246.png

We also couldn't win against Sheffield even when we were on the front twice. Hojlund and Moya scored in this game.

1690645490042.png

3rd draw in a row against Bolton. They scored on the 8th and Valera equalized on the 39th.

1690645532672.png

We eventually won a game against Coventry when Richards stood up once again and scored two goals in 9 minutes. Chair scored the 3rd and final goal.

1690645589627.png

West Brom beat us at Loftus Road after scoring 2 goals in the second half. Richards scored our goal.

1690645640614.png

Valera and Jean Lucas helped us beat Burnley.

1690645671361.png

And then we drew once again. Richards and Valera scored.

1690645707655.png

Valera helped us against Sunderland but we couldn't get over a draw once again. Only one game left in the season against Stoke.

1690645788444.png

And we lost the final game of the season. We had a lot of bad results in the last games of the season which could have big consequences.

League Table

1690645842417.png

Fortunately for us, we still got 2nd place even after all the bad results so Queens Park Rangers will get Premier League football once again next season.

Random Stuff

1690645944256.png

Obvisouly the board increased our budgets for the season and we will have to make a team that's able to avoid relegation.

Youth Intake

Our youth intake was not very good once again but we did have 2 new prospects coming in.

1690646023097.png
1690646027624.png

Nothing crazy but these were the best we got this year.

3rd September 2024

The new season has just started and QPR are in the Premier League once again after 10 seasons in the Championship. The board gave us some millions to spend to try to build a squad that's able to survive relegation but we faced some problems.

Let's start by seeing how our transfer window went.

Transfers Out

1691010522978.png

After only 1 season with us, Rodrigo left to play on France's 2nd division. He just didn't had enough playtime or quality to play in the Premier League and since he came for free I was happy to let him go.
Our 3rd goalkeeper also left but this time to Arsenal.

1691010653459.png

After the official beginning of the new season, we saw a lot more players leaving us.

Bruno Gaspar was not good enough to play in the Premier League and went back to Portugal for 1M€.

Regan Poole was a decent player but he barely played and when Eibar came with a 7M€ offer I couldn't say no. He came for free 2 seasons ago and with 39 games played in 2 seasons he made us 7M profit.

Paul Smyth was just bad and I don't think I played him in more than 10 games.

Toni Moya was sold to Huesca for 4.4M€. I didn't want to sell him but his contract was due to terminate in the end of the season and he couldn't get a new work permit. We were able to get 4.2M in profit from his transfer so not everything is bad.

Transfers In
Cameron Devlin - Free

1691011061907.png

The first player to join us was the Australian midfielder who's a very decent DM. Very happy to be able to get him for free and he definitely adds some defensive quality to our midfield which we weren't exactly amazing in.

Gustav Berggren - 1.8M

1691011210986.png

Another midfielder but this time a more creative one. Was not very expensive and brings a lot of quality. Hopefully he's able to replace Patino since we weren't able to bring him back again.

Damjan Dakic - 500k

1691011299545.png

I think it's safe to say we had to bring in better CB's otherwise I don't think we would be able to survive. Dakic showed up in a report saying he would only cost us half a million. He's only 20 years old but he looks very decent already.

Ben Cabango - 6.5M

1691011430220.png

Our most expensive signing yet was another CB from Swansea. He looks decent and can still get better. Just unfortunate we had to spend that much money to get him.

Ivica Ivusic - 2.6M

1691011519577.png

We needed another GK and I wanted someone who was better than our current started Baxter. Found the Croatian and he looks terrific.

Derlis González - 500k

1691011695101.png

Very decent player who can also play upfront. He was also very cheap so I didn't think twice.

Juan Iglesias - 7.5M

1691011763518.png

We needed a better RB because Gaspar left and we only had Quaresma (who will play as a CB once again) and Nyambe and I just don't think Nyambe is good enough so we welcome the Spanish to Loftus Road.

Krystian Bielik - 1.4M

1691011862407.png

Another very cheap player for that he brings to the team. Another good defensive option in the midfield is always welcomed.

Rodrigo Villagra - Loan

1691011999996.png

The only loaned in player we got this season was Villagra from Arsenal who looks very good and is another possible replacement for Patino. We have an option to buy clause of around 16M so if he does well we will consider his signing next season.

Fabrício Bruno - 9M

1691012113223.png

The final and most expensive signing of the summer was the CB Fabrício who is our best CB so I was very happy to bring him in.

Schedule and League Table

1691012208224.png

We had 2 good results against Man.United and Liverpool but we lost every other games we played in August. It's not looking very good for us this far but we still have a whole season ahead of us.

1691012303070.png

For now we are off the relegation places but we only played 5 games so a lot can change.

I'll be back in January.

1691230983811.png

Well this ended well. To be fair we were awful this season and were looking at a most likely relegation to the Championship.
If the board didn't sack me from the club I would be tempted to keep going and try to get promoted again but I guess this is the end of this save.

I already have a new idea for a new save so see you soon.

I feel your pain....similar to what happened to me at Swansea! Look forward to seeing your next save though as I enjoyed this.

Yeah I followed your's as well and when I saw you being sacked I thought "**** I hope this doesn't happen to me". But to be fair you still had two good seasons in the Premier League ahaha

Maybe try a wheel of fortune mate....honestly, I would never have even considered Antwerp or even the Belgium league, but I'm massively into my new career now!

I been following yours and I have to say I am really enjoying it so I will definitely think about it, thanks for the suggestion!
