Spartak fans take to streets after Historic Double.
As soon as the whistle went the Spartak fans hit the streets to celebrate. Not just a major win over CSKA another step towards the Championship and maybe even European or cup success. The ninth minute was when the entire capacity erupted with delight when midfielder struck a wicked shot past Russian national goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev. It went from bad to worse for CSKA when commanding centre-back Sergei Ignashevich scored a horrendous own-goal almost straight after the McGeady opening. Just as Spartak seemed to have wrestled control of the match Seydou Doumbia fired past Dykan. CSKA seemed to have got on top of the game with the majority of possession went with CSKA but they could not make it all square.
The occasion was marred for Spartak and CSKA as fighting broke out in downtown Moscow between rival supporters, 20 arrests were made by police and there was several injuries being treated at local hospitals with running battles still going on. Leonid Slutsky and Gareth Davies have moved quickly to condemn the fighting between supporters with Davies saying "Those hooligans have ruined a great day for this historic football club"
