CM: We may not have met my optimistic target of 6 points in the league but its was still a solid start to the month. A terrific start at home to Burnley in the opening game, Ibe and Vetokele both getting a brace and the entire team playing brilliantly. The draw to Watford and loss The Saints were both a little disappointing as we deserved more from both matches. Lastly the win at Luton was what I expected from the team, even with my second squad out.

Charlton Player of the Month

Jordon Ibe

View attachment 283063

CM: Great first month from the English youngster, I am struggling to understand why Liverpool found him surplus to requirements but thats our gain! He managed 2 goals and 2 assists in 3 matches and has forced his way into the first team.

Nice solid start. Ibe could be a star for years to come.

I am in October at the moment and we have done really well so far, I will be updating tonight. Ibe has a lot of potential but has dropped off a bit in recent weeks. The star of the team has been Andrija Zivkovic, he has managed 10 goals in the last 5 games, literally a beast!

Impressive first two seasons, looking forward to seeing how you go this season!

CM: Well its been good times here at The Valley in the past 3 months, we have had some very impressive results with some outstanding individual performances to go with it. As you can see, the stand out player has to be Zivkovic with an incredible 13 goals in 8 matches on the right wing. Big losses at Man Utd in the league and Chelsea in the Capital One were kind of expected but with great wins in the league against Chelsea, Sunderland and West ham but to name a few, we have really seen our team go from strength to strength. Also my work here has not gone unnoticed with job offers from Leicester, Villa, Everton and Sheffield Wednesday over the past few months.

League Standings

CM: We currently hold a lofty position at this stage of the season but I think it befits the performances of the team so far, we are now on a 5 match winning streak in the league and we are growing as the season goes on.

League Player Stats

CM: The stats speak for them selves, the team have been electric and if our key players can continue these performances then who knows where we could finish the season.

CM: What a crazy month December has been!! We started with a credible draw at home to City which in truth we deserved more from. Then came Liverpool at Anfield, this game was Fu**ing infuriating, we were 7-1 down at half time and the stats were only just in Liverpool's favor, I just had to put this down to a bad day at the office. A shakey win at Wigan helped us to settle the dust before a 2 terrific wins at home to Arsenal and Newcastle. We lastly finished the month of with a lucky win at Swansea, that's another 4 match unbeaten run and we are looking good value for a top half finish.

CM: We are continuing to impress and at the half way stage occupy a European spot.

Just read through this from the beginning, crazy how tight the league finishes were in both seasons!

Doing a great job and looks like you will be challenging for at least a Europa League spot and who knows if you keep the momentum up you may get into the top 4.

Well done - Zivkovic looks to be a star!

Cheers man, he really is, shame there is now way Real will sell after the season he has had.. that's if he would even want to trade the Bernabeu for The Valley lol

I know it has been some pretty tense finishes, especially last season, I think we was 5 or 6 points clear with 5 games to go and we still managed to only scrape it on superior goal difference.

Cheers buddy, If I am honest I don't see Mendonca's Charlton being able to keep it up for the duration but fingers crossed!

Transfers

CM: It was a relatively quite transfer window with just the 3 in and 3 out. All of the transfers being almost a like for like. When the bid came on for Richards I felt it was a good deal, he is a player that joined us on a free transfer and he never really settled with us, also I knew that Walker was available for as little as £2.3m. Another loanee comes in from Real Madrid in Odergaard, Martin will only be a rotational player for the squad to cover injuries and fitness. I have sent Ibe out on loan as he isn't getting as much football as I would like and I don't want to stifle his development. Lastly, Bartley out as he wasn't good enough for the first team anymore and Yanga-Mbiwa in for more cover, although he will be fighting for the first team.

CM: Some poor results this month, starting off with a bore draw against Burnley, then moving on to a really poor loss to Huddersfield in the FA Cup. Losses in the league to Southampton and Man Utd hurt our morale and goal difference, we did manage a win against Watford inbetween but to be honest we was very lucky to come away with 3 points. I was pleased with the way we fought for the draw against Tottenham who were just one place above us in 4th at the time. All in all a bad month and I would like to see some big improvements in February.

CM: We are still battling away to remain in with a shout for a European place come the end of the season. For now I am just very happy that we have pretty much secured another season in the Premiership and anything from now is a bonus.

I am loving this table right now!! :D
Great progress though, looking forward to seeing Charlton competing in Europe next season!

Just caught up with this mate. Loving it. Glad Zivkovic is doing well for you. One of my fave players on FM15. Keep it up mate.

Yeah Liverpool are dominating the league this season! I hope so, we just need to find a bit of consistency and its definitely possible!

Cheers mate, much appreciated! Yeh he has been a quality player, I don't think I will be able to make it permanent some how though lol

CM: I am very happy with our results over the past 2 months, with several good wins including our latest fantastic result against Arsenal at The Emirates. The only losses coming at Chelsea and City which were both close matches that on another day we could of easily won. As you can see, our attack is still very much dominated by Zivkovic, Rog and Helenius, with 3 games still to go they have amassed a combined total of 59 goals, 34 assists and 16 MoM awards in the league alone. Time to see where this has left us in the league and whether we have a shot of Europe next season still.

League Standings

CM: So we are still in with a shout for a European spot, if I am very optimistic then we could even make the ECC, but it will take a major slip up from Tottenham at this stage. We could also finish as low as 8th if we aren't careful.

Fixtures

View attachment 280711
CM: The final run in could go either way, if we can carry on our solid form then we can easily win all 3 of our last matches. I would expect a minimum of 6 points from the last 9 available, I will just have to hope it will be enough to get us over the line.

CM: The lads were fantastic for the final 3 matches, I said I would of expected 6 points so I am delighted we managed to pick up the full 9 points. We controlled each of the games and showed real class to finish the season in such a professional manner.

CM: So we are officially in Europe!! I never would have thought a 5th place position would have been possible but my team have been fantastic all season and fully deserve their place in the Europa League.

Transfer Budget

View attachment 280202
CM: The first bit of good news was the massive £47 Million budget the board give me for this season. This just shows how much things have changed at The Valley, we are now the 13th richest team in the World..

Transfers

CM: So with that huge transfer budget I decided to go out and invest heavily in the squad, with that has come some very exciting talent, especially of the South American variety. I also brought in some well known English talent such as Garbutt, Caulker and Zaha. With most of our loan stars of last season going back to their parent club, I really needed to strengthen our central midfield position so I agreed a deal for Verre to sign permanently and also brought in a very talented Pasalic from Chelsea. As for transfers out, they were mostly players who were surplus to requirements apart from Vetokele, he hadn't featured much last season and when he did he just didn't impress, we still made a £5m profit on him and I felt it was best for his career if he moved o for first team football.

Meet Some Of The New Talent

CM: So as you can see, I have recruited some very exciting young talent, mainly from South America. I think that despite the fantastic season last term, we may need to just use this next season as a transitional period, we have many players that need to learn the pace of the Premiership and I am sure that once these players settle in we will be a force to be reckoned with.

Pre-Season Results

CM: We have had a pretty good pre season on the hole, we had some good results and performances. I really just wanted to rotate the squad and play around with our tactics, we have a lot of new players in the side and it was important I found out how this team plays best before we kick off the new season.
