the only main team with a tough start seems to be juventus (or should i say udinese is the main team of the match? :P)
cagliari is a tricky away match, last season we (Roma) met them at Sant'Elia on the second match of the season and got trashed 5-1 (mind you, this may also be due to Burdisso's attempted murder of Daniele Conti in our penalty box on 15th minute), but i guess AC should come out easily with the points
napoli got genoa and this might be a hard clash for them, even if genoa are not the most consistent side ever, in the past years they pulled off stunning wins and unbelievable losses. i'd go with a draw with loads of goals
we got bologna away, yay, great, just like in the year of the last scudetto! let's hope the players get hold of lucho's way of playing as soon as possible
oh, and inter is going to kill lecce, just for everyone to say how good the appointment of gasperini was until they start losing matches because i think they'll sell snijder (spelling!) and don't seem to have strenghtened at all

Milan leading 2-1 in the super cup. Came from goal behind..

Very good game, Milan are all over Inter..

That was a great game, I was hoping to see what Wesley did after the game though :S

Good game, happy with the result. Not quite sure about this by Pato though...

What do you guys think; racist or harmless fun? Personally I don't think he meant it in a bad way, but if I was Asian I would most likely find it quite offensive. Either way it's very immature, I like Pato a lot, but there's no need for it.

Robinho was doing it too. Harmless fun but it will offend people, so it's a stupid thing to do.

aaaand yes, first trophy gone for Gasp&co
i knew they were going to suck this year
wasn't happy to see ibra lifting the trophy either, but one out of the two teams HAD to win it, after all -_-

I hope Eto'o doesn't sell-out and go to Russia :S

Napoli eye up Rossi bid Former Manchester United striker is a wanted man in Europe

Last Updated: August 13, 2011 1:25pm

: Italy striker is wanted by Napoli as they compete on three fronts this season
Napoli coach Walter Mazzarri admits he would welcome Giuseppe Rossi but not at the expense of star striker Ezequiel Lavezzi.

The Italy international has been tracked by Tottenham Hotspur and Juventus this summer but Villarreal have refused to sell their marquee name.

Napoli's president has gone on record to state his admiration for the former Manchester United youngster, and hinted he may have to sell Lavezzi to fund any possible bids.

"I want to manage top players whether it is Rossi, Tevez, Nilmar or Balotelli. I'd love to manage four top quality forwards."

Walter Mazzarri

However, there seems to be a difference of opinion between the coach and his president, as Mazzarri is reluctant to lose Lavezzi ahead of their UEFA Champions League campaign.

"We need 22 players in the squad, that's also what Mourinho says. If someone offers me Giuseppe Rossi, I would be happy," said Mazzarri.

"Until now the names that have been mentioned weren't at Giuseppe Rossi's level and that's why I've always said I don't want other forwards.

"But as for Rossi, I hope he arrives tomorrow. That would be a great present and would make us take a step up in terms of quality."

Mazzarri, however, has dismissed suggestions that with three quality attackers in Edison Cavani, Marek Hamsik and Lavezzi at his disposal already, there would be no room for Rossi.

And he insists with the volume of games they will play due to their involvement in Serie A, Coppa Italia and the Champions League, they will need another marksman of high quality.

He added: "Yes I want him [Rossi] but with Lavezzi. I wouldn't have any problem leaving one of Rossi, Cavani, Lavezzi and Hamsik on the bench, not least because we'll be playing every three days.

"I want to manage top players whether it is Rossi, Tevez, Nilmar or Balotelli. I'd love to manage four top quality forwards."

and the first sacking already!!! Cagliari sack Donadoni | Sky Sports | Football | Serie A | Cagliari

Cellino got the first sacking of the season in before Zamparini had a chance to, I like it.

On the Rossi story, De Laurentiis has said lately he will 'let' Rossi stay at Villareal another year and then try and get him. Aurelio will not pay his 30m asking price, not a chance in sunny ****, he also said he could sign Balotelli/Pandev/Eto'o if he really wanted to...

More likely Napoli will sign Leonel Vangioni on the wing from Argentina to replace Sosa and a young ST with resale value, latest name in the ring is Yannis Tafer...

Looking forward to the Serie A kickoff it will be an exciting season...

AC- Tired, lack a creative midfielder... 'Mr X' is supposedly their answer but we will see.

Inter- Interesting project, alot of young blood coming through and with Forlan they will be a force. The 3-4-3 formation Gasperini is trying to teach them will always take time for them to adjust to it.

Roma- Extremely interested in whether Luis Enrique will get the most out of his team, alot of young exciting signings here...My dark horses for the title.

Lazio- Again like their Roman neighbours a very exciting project, should be interesting to see how it works and whether Zarate stays or not.

Juventus- Conte's 4-4-2/4-3-3 really will take time for the rigid players to get their heads around, Vidal and Marchisio will do the running in the midfield but Pirlo is a liability off the ball especially in a 4-4-2. Big season for Matri and Pasquato, Vucinic should do well but I fear they will miss their star striker (When he is sold) Amauri.

Napoli will be there or there abouts come next May,

Palermo and Udinese have rebuilt and will be strong again next season, watch out for Ilicic/Doubai/Asamoah on those teams think they will be big talents and get alot of attention next summer.

My tip for the golden boot: Di Natale, followed by Forlan/Ibrahimovic/Cavani.

Exciting season ahead no doubt...

Could Napoli win the title? as imo they have the best squad if they keep it, the only doubt i would have with them is thier goalie De Sanctis

De Sanctis?

He is solid enough to be honest, really stepped it up last season for them.

My doubts with Napoli are the lack of striker depth and the absolute lack of clarity with Cigarini's future at the club.

I don't think they will win the title, I think they will finish top 4.

Roma, Napoli, Inter, AC will make up the top four in my opinion with Inter/AC/Roma the clubs challenging for the title.

Udinese/Palermo/Juve will fight tooth and nail with Napoli for that 4th spot no doubt about it.

The problem with Napoli is they are always 2-3 injuries away from catastrophe, if Lavezzi/Hamsik/Gargano go down injured at the same time then they are up the creek without a paddle.

would you not have cavanni in that list aswell?

Lucarelli could come in and do a job if needed and Christian Chavez has just signed, exciting times at Napoli no doubt about it.
