So Determination is the key attribute for them to reach their potential right? How do you guys raise their determination if it is low?

Determination makes players determined to succeed during games. It's a very important stat but it doesn't affect development. Professionalism & ambition (personallity attributes/stats) are the 2 stats that affect a player's development. All of these (determination/professionalism/ambition), aswell as all other personality attributes can be increased and decreased through tutoring. Personality atributes/stats aren't visible ingame, but you can get an idea from a player's personality. Player Development - Guide to Football Manager 2012

does everyone play there wonderkids in the first team, ive got world class youth facilities so would they progress well until they hit say 20? or should i loan them , or play them everyonce in a while?

I put my young prospects in U18 untill they reach 17, then put them in first team, make available for reserves, and give as much first team experience as possible. Also try to send them out on loan as much as possible, but only to teams where i'm "certain" he will get lots of playtime and that has facilities that aren't more than 1 level below mine.

Thanks for that , ill have to start giving them game timeView attachment 268992Ill certainly be giving this one game time

Looks great, at this point he should definately get A LOT of first team experience, with you or on loan. Dont let him sit on the bench too much.

As he just broke his foot (rage :@XD:'() and he's already 30yrs, this is the very best he will ever be.

The best striker England has ever had (at least in my game (H)), Sir Dale Palmer:

The best striker England has ever had, has got to be Wesley Elliot that somebody posted some weeks ago, but your striker is great though.

Lol, Fichado9 posted him..Wesley Elliot is still the best striker I have ever seen posted on this thread. Although Dale Palmer is unbelievable too.

20 is way too late. I start playing them in the first team by the time they're 17-18 years old if they're good enough. Which most of them are. I've been playing Tobias Kramer (my striker) since he was 15 :P

http://www.fm-base.co.uk/forum/atta...esley-elliot-overview_-player-attributes-.png :x How can a 36yr old player still be at that level? I've never seen a player who doesn't start losing massive stats at 34 latest.

And... what i said was "best striker england has ever had". Palmer 173 goals in 121 caps. Elliot 149 goals in 178 caps.

Technical ability is not adversely affected by age.. mental attributes go up. at least that is what I've previously experienced...physical stats do go down...but there are rare cases where that doesn't happen...some pages back I remember posting a screenshot of this 34 year old Brazilian defender with 20 pace and very high physical stats otherwise.

Got this guy on loan at Benfica. Gonna have a huge headache when he returns. He's good enough for first team football but I have Sven Bender, Lucas Leiva and Jenssen at their prime with a hugely talented regen vying for two positions. I could play him at cb but it's such a waste of his passing ability. What a versatile player.

Not when a player starts dropping away from his potential ability due to aging - at that point, all 3 categories start dropping like bricks. In my experience this is never later than 34 for fieldplayers. I dont believe Elliot to be a genuine unmodified player, in my experience it's simply not possible.

that's the thing..you can never prove it. and you can't be doubting people too much either. I've never seen a lot of things..Like the Aston Villa striker someone posted a page back..never seen such a good 20-year old. Unless people have posted their regens right from when they were 16-17, you can never tell. so it's best just to assume the best of people :D

Adapt your system to play with 3 CM's or 1DM + 2 CM, or sell one of them for max profit.

These 2 guys are legends. Wayne Smith has been top scorer in the Premier league 10 years in a row and has scored about 800 career goals. His international record is unbelievable, especially considering he only has 6 goals in the last 27 internationals. D'Agostino has been 1st choice since he was 17 and has played about 1100 games for club and country.

Honourable mention to this guy - I signed him earlier on in my present save as a different manager when I forgot just how easy it was to manage Arsenal so quit after three months' game time, but he's done pretty well. Obviously I've seen better and he pales into insignificance next to Wayne Smith, but he's been a machine this season, scoring almost 30 goals already from just 29 starts!
