Van Duijn is amazing. And only 20. Jeez. Vavilov is an absolute monster too. I agree with Tommy about the English players, but I'm in a similar predicament on my game... just not enough world class English regens (true to life unfortunately!)
 
Talking of English regens, this guy seems to be coming along quite well, although I'm not quite sure just how good he grow to be. I am giving him some playing time now though, so should hopefully fulfill his potential

This is the Newcastle team I assembled. I have now left after winning the Premiership, F.A Cup and Champions League and making the club rich, so it just got easy. New challenge (as a new manager) with Bayern Munich now, no longer the dominant force in German football.


Sadly I don't seem able to put them in the line up I tended to play, but I played this line up:

I know some will consider it a waste of Fabio's 20 passing attribute to put him in defence, but a ball playing defender is a must with my style, it's vital for my possession, and he's brilliant at it. Gómez, Mesa and Duenas were all signed in the summer so their values won't reflect their abilities properly. Sorry about Mesa's screenshot too, I've only got half his attributes and can't be bothered to scout him as my game is ridiculously slow now.


Anyway, this is what I paid for them all:


Cabrera - Free
Gómez - £9m
Dia - £22m
Fabio - £4m
Da Silva - £4.5m
Guilherme - Free
Verheyen - £9.25m
Mesa - £4.7m
Duenas - £26.5m
Marchal - £6m
Carragher - £10m


Obviously there were plenty more players who played, but that's Newcastle's strongest XI. My net spend in my 5 and a bit years at the club was around £55m, but I took the club from Championship to Champions League winners, had the stadium expanded and the facilities are all as good as they can possibly be, have added £20m to the club's bank balance despite all that and have the best U-18 team in the world. Probably my favourite save ever this one. Really enjoyed starting from the bottom without any players I recognised.
 
I should also mention that Marchal's just come back from a lengthy injury so his attributes have dropped a fair bit, he was my star man last year with 21 goals from the left wing.

Fabio is one of the best defenders/defensive midfielders I have ever seen on FM12. Fabulous player.

I think he bought him for that much recently which is why that value shows. Highly doubt that he's valued at £104M even though he is an incredible player.

wow great team! but there are two things i would do. first thing is get a few top english players in there or champions cup registration becomes a nightmare. i had the same prob with madrid when i first took over in 2019. but there are more top spanish regens than english but suprisingly not as many as you would have thought.(lots of africans etc). second thing i would do isbuy a striker with more pace. i personaly cant stand having srtikers with no pace. 1 is ok but 2, your call.

I cant believe how well Van Duijn has come on, Vavilov has been at my club since he was 16 and i did use him as a central midfielder but he plays better on the wing. Yeah ive got the point on mine where im just gunna have to start using average english players from my youth as i cant find any decent english players.

Thanks :) yeah i have a few english as back ups but they just dont have the quality but i did just sell one of my best english players for £50m as he wanted a new challenge :(

As for strikers i do have a one or two pacey strikers that i didnt show and when i get home i will post them on here as im actually at work.

cool will be good to see. i am in 2021 and have very few wingers in my game maybe 4-5 that are good enouth for the best teams and even then they are not as good as my CAMs bar one(who is equaly as good). i am far better off playing with 3 CAMs than one and wingers.

i know you can train players to play these position but i personaly dont think it is worth the bother when playing 3 CAMs has worker very well for me but i think it is odd. (when i say wingers i mean left or right AM not left or right mids).

do you, or anyone else have this problem? will be interesting to know. cheers

Yes I do too. I've had to convert my strikers to wingers :(

I've had that problem a little bit. I play a tactic where my AML and AMR are advanced playmakers and it's really hard to find regens for that role. The few good winger regens out there are mostly flying winger types with great pace, dribbling and crossing but not so good passing/creativity.

There's so many good CMs and strikers out there I get tempted to use one of those match engine exploiter tactics.
 
VERY few top quality winger regens on my game. I'm now just about to go into 2020 & still the best winger by far on the game is Gotze, no-one even comes close. Not even very many good youngsters who look worth a punt.

Having said that, I did forget about my ridiculously good right winger who I've had since 18 & is now the best in the game. Although like AAB said, he is really a right mid, not a winger.

i have a few left wingers but no right other than my no 1 CAM who i trained there while young to give him extra chance of playing time that is why i am doing this with this new youngster as he is pure class and needs all the playing time he can get.

this is my best player i have taken everywhere with m since the age of 16
