Season review

Season 2012-2013 - Complete review
Going into the last game of the season the league table was looking very interesting. We were tied with Marbella "B" but that was not enough for the title so we needed a little help in the last round to get the trophy. Did we make it?

No... unfortunately not. We demolished Humanes in the last round 3-0 but at the same time Marbella "B" cleared Sorolla-Pozuelo 4-2 which ment that we stayed even in points, but we got defeated in both matches against the victors. Luckily the second position is what we were initially looking for and the whole team can be extremely happy with the overall performance this season! The final league table looked like this.

All the players performed admirably over the season. Jorge won the top goalscorer award with 29 goals, Iván was third with a total of 25. Both players were also in the top 4 regarding average ratings. Saúl was our main defensive force averaging a rating of 7.28, he also scored six goals and contributed one assist! Midfielders were also incredible although none of them really stand out due to several injuries in that department.

Some good news also in the staff department as our Physio Elena Sanchez extended her contract until 2015. This was a welcome contract renewal.

Unfortunately we will probably be losing some players at the end of the season as their contracts expire. Our finances just don't have the flexibility to match their wage demands. Remains to be seen which players contracts we will manage to renew. Alvaro Panedas and Iván are the number one targets to keep in the squad.

Really looking forward for the next season. Hopefully we will manage to improve our financial stature, that being the main focus of attention next season.

Renewals

Contracts renewed!
Luckily after the player's contracts expired they stayed at the club. The new pre-season has begun and the board has set the wage budget at 10 000€ per month, a huge improvement from last seasons 4500€/m! This allowed me to renew all the contracts that I wanted and still have a massive wage budget remaining since the players agreed to sign for half the wage they were playing before.

Now more than ever looking forward to the upcoming season in the Honor League Group 6. The Honor League is by the way regional, group 6 holds teams from the region of León.

The media prediction for the next season is 14th, which is not as promising as one might like. The board has indicated that they would like a position in the Mid-table which should be a realistic goal for us to set. My personal goal is to try to push up and finish in the top 10. The top team will win automatic promotion to the upper division and four others will enter a playoff-phase.

Pre-season

Coaching improvements and pre-season

I am glad to announce that two coaches have join our staff. This was an important move as we didn't have any earlier and my assistant was overwhelmed with work.

The pre-season wen extremely well. Three our games were against teams that play in the third division and we won all of the games except for one. The game against Bembibre we got a bit lucky but either way great performances. Pre-season the betting office set our title odds at 3.50 strenghtening our perspective position in the upper half of the table. With a bit of luck I think we can push for promotion playoff!

The season will start soon and everything seems to be ready except for Goña still being treated for an injury. Hopefully I can post the first update this evening. Now off to eat my dad's fridge clean!

Off the mark!

Start of the season

It has been an eventful start of the season at El Golpejar. The first game was touted as maybe one of the most difficult of the season facinh the media favorites for the title Aguilar. We somehow managed to turn the game around after going 0-1 down. The second half was our domination and we managed to maintain the narrow lead until the final whistle.

The next two games were something unbelievable. Iván lived up to the potential that he has and bagged a hattrick in both matches. All of the players performed magnificently! These results take us to the top of the league table tied with only one other team after three games. Hopefully we can hang onto this spot!

We almost had our first ever transfer. Our third choice striker Rubi had interest from Third Division Roquetas, but the transfer fell through after Roquetas couldn't come up with 6000€ cash for the transfer. I would have actually liked this one to go through since we have a vast selection of strikers, all decent.

Last but not least, the board announced our season ticket sales for the upcoming season. We managed a total of 72 tickets, which I think is a decent result compared to our 500 capacity stadium.

Wow what a good story, this has some really good potential :) keep it up my friend!!!

Thank you! I will definately be keeping it relatively busy as I have never been so excited about an FM save before 8-|

Ten games down in season 2

Time has been on the cards lately and so I apologize for the inactivity in the past week. Finally I came up with a little update to the progress made in this time.

The start in this season has been beyond my hopes. We are doing great and injuries have not yet disrupted our flow in opposite to last season.

These performances have officially been noted as record breaking!

In the beginning of the season we also managed to loan out Diego, one of our substitute strikers. Hopefully this loan spell will boost his development!
