Latest version of the 442 The tweaks made are mostly so that its easier to spot when to implement the different shouts. I have been doing really well with Burnley in the Prem 2011/2012 and with a little luck, we should be playing i Europe next season and perhaps even in the CL !
The Shouts
Attack- Overlaps, to play really attacking BUT witht he fullbacks connecting with the wingers
Control-Wider-get ball forward, toplay more attacking and down the flanks
Standard - Retain possession , to play slower and hold onto the ball
Counter - Retain possession + sometimes Take a breather ,to play slower and with more men behind the ball but on the counter
Defensive -Take a breather, to play much more defensive
TWEAKS OF THE MCLEFT
His passing is fixed to mixed but if you want to play a more direct game, then let him play....direct, making more key passess into channels. If you want him to play a much shorter passing game when using the retain shouts, the untick his fixed pasingsetting and he will keep it simple
Set Pieces
Corners - To far post
WhilstI am not scoring many from them,it keeps me from heing hit on the counter as the ball is mostlyactually delieverd towards thatarea, headed over goal, headed away to a throw in etc
Crossess - To far post
Just as above
Throw ins -Long
As I have a playerwith bullet thow ins
It will work with any good* team as long as you have the players for a 442 and you are using it as a plug & shout rather than a plug&play. Teams with the following players will have an advantage though, just like in any tactic
Really quick poacher(FCleft) that knows how to score
Wingers that can cross
Fullbacks and a central mid(mcleft) that are strong as they hold up the ball
Creative MC(mcright) with good passing and decision
Determined players with high workrate and teamwork stats
*Perhaps not Bath or Blyth or the team Ramlösa in the Swedish Div II
Not really as most teams in the Prem and CCC have the players for it. Just keep in mind that whilst a team have the correct players, they could benefit from playing a different formation ( when not being able to use any AM-mids)
UPDATE
Just made it into the FaCup final after beating Pool(top of the league) 2-0. Previous teams knocked out where Fulham 2-0, Bristol C 3-0, Sunderland 3-0 and Chelsea 3-0.

I think you made a small mistake when you describe the CMR in the first post, you put what (I think) are defensive attributes where the attacking attributes should be and viceversa.
In what roles would you play in this tactic Rooney and Berbatov? One of them should be played as poacher? Does it affect the crossing settings, that neither of them have good heading abilities? Sorry for my english.
