Third time lucky

Looking good! Looks like Theo and Santi have been the pick of the bunch. I know Szczesny wouldn't have much to do, but an average rating of 6.74 just isn't good enough tbh, so maybe look for a top class keeper? Looks like all of your signings except Shaw need some time to adapt (this includes Ozil, I've got a save up to 2023 and I followed Arsenal and he was by far the top performer. Maybe push one of the CM to CAM and put Ozil there to get the most out of him??), you can see their average ratings are lower than the others.

It's looking very nice so far. I'm sure Everton will fall off soon, and once that happens you need to keep the good form up!

View attachment 352267Another fine performance from the two award winners of last month. A comfortable win which was only marred by a fine breakaway goal from Darren Bent. This win saw us take the top spot after Everton slipped to a second defeat in a row.

Sagna MOM: Sagna
View attachment 352261A strong if somewhat ill-disciplined performance from West Brom saw us clinging on for dear life towards the end, it was nice to maintain our unbeaten run and we retain top spot but Manchester United are edging ever closer.

Walcott, Cazorla MOM: Cazorla
View attachment 352259How nobody was sent off in this fixture is beyond me, we recieved three yellow cards before ten minutes Mr D. Skomina is a fairly strict referee. A comfortable victory in the end but it got a little nervy after they pulled a goal back, PSG won at Dortmund so we needed the victory but we ultimately qualify in second behind Dortmund and PSG advance to the Europa League.

Sven Bender injured for 2-3 weeks.

Manchester City sack Manuel Pellegrini and yet Chelsea who still remain in the bottom half are still sticking with Mourinho.

Arsenal 3 Stoke 1
Oxlade Chamberlain, Cazorla, Bendtner MOM: Ozil
View attachment 352258Another comfortable victory but another match without a clean sheet. Szczesny has played ok, but I am thinking we need a second keeper capable of challenging for the top spot. Liking the fact Bendtner is making a serious contribution this season and he has been rewarded with a contract extension. Although I do feel I need to purchase a top striker as strangely Giroud has failed to contribute more than 2 goals this season so far although he is getting limited opportunities.

Ozil unfortunately suffered a broken arm in the Stoke match (dirty bastards!!!) and will be missing for 5 to 6 weeks.

Struggling Sunderland sack Gus Poyet.

Capital One QF Manchester United 1 Arsenal 1 (Man U win 5-4 on penalties)
Cazorla MOM: Cazorla
View attachment 352257Oxlade Chamberlain despite having such a good season missed only penalty in a well fought match. It was testament to the team and their defensive efforts that we held this to penalties. Two minutes from progressing to the semis and the traitorous RVP equalised, we ended the match with ten men. Not too disheartened away from home but just hope fitness levels don't suffer because of the effort this match took.

Podolski's injury in the United match was unfortunately serious and he will now miss 7 weeks to 2 months and Sagna is missing for the next 3-4 days. Podolski was a candidate to be sold in the January transfer window but that will not be able to happen now.

Arsene Wenger becomes the Manchester City manager.

In the Champions League we are drawn at home for the first leg of the first knockout round to Real Madrid, nothing like an easy second round tie.

Arsenal 1 Cardiff 0
Cazorla MOM: Flamini
View attachment 352255Flamini covering for the injured Sagna earns a solid man of the match. I have trained Flamin to play right and left back as his place in the squad is justified now by his versatility. Cazorla scores in his fourth consecutive fixture and we once more end a match with only ten on the pitch after Bendtner is injured. But lets not forget it's a CLEAN SHEET!!!!!!!!

The Latest Standings:
View attachment 3522542 Points is the distance between us and the two teams below but their is a ten point gap between us and fourth. I am happy to be top at christmas, Norwich and Stoke (the latter have only lost 1) are the major over achievers and Chelsea have just broken into the top half.

Malky Mackay takes the vacant manager position at Fulham.

FA Cup fourth round tie sees us drawn away to Millwall or............. Man City (of course it is).

With the number of injuries I have had recently I felt some additional experienced cover is needed but being low on funds I look to the loan list, I ended up opting for Tom Cleverley on loan. Not his biggest fan but this isn't real life and maybe he could do a job if needed.

Emiliano Viviano is unhappy with lack of football, not surprising seen as though Szczesny is always fit and so I agree to terminate his loan.

View attachment 351312We finish top as the top goalscorers with the best goal difference, a truly deserved league title. Mourinho turned it around finishing second and winning most of the manager of the months from the second half of the season.

Villa relegated and sack their manager Zola. Hull also part company with Steve Bruce.

Alex Oxlade Chamberlain wins Footballer of the year. 16 goals 35 games with an average rating of 7.30.
Bendtner top league goalscorer with 21 goals (tied with Suarez but played fewer matches).
Oxlade Chamberlain won goal of the season.
I win manager of the year.
Bendtner, Cazorla, Oxlade Chamberlain and Sagna all make the team of the year.

Manchester United sack David Moyes.
Aston Villa hire Gus Poyet.
Manchester United hire Gus Hiddink.

So I will be visiting my champions later on today with a view of enhancing the squad later today before we begin our title defence, I have always struggled a little in the second season. So I put forward a question, who should I sell? Who should I buy?

I am sending two scouts to the World Cup to scout for players and will be looking for some players for the future and a couple to challenge for first team straight away.

i'm looking to sell Monreal, Flamini and Jenkinson as well as Diaby. New signings Diouf and Jesus have asked to move due to lack of football, I should be able to make a profit on Diouf and hopefully at least break even on the slightly more expensive Jesus. I wouldn't say they were poor signings we won the league, but if they want out I can't really argue a reason why they shouldn't.

So priorities are a reliable RB, Sagna had a good season but will be 32 at start of next season so a current ability of 3 stars minimum is required. A goalkeeper who can support or challenge Szczesny for the first team spot would be good. An attacking player to replace Diouf and another CB to replace Jesus. A versatile defence minded midfielder is my final hope, with Flamini being on the way out Bender is my only DM in the team.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Nicklas Bendtner came third in the European golden shoe award behind Matri and Ronaldo.

I sold Carl Jenkinson to Cardiff for £4.1M. So long Carl I like you but you just don't have the potential to fit into my line up once Sagna exits.

I reject bids from Manchester City (£29.5M) and Chelsea (£27.5M) for Aaron Ramsey.

I sold Mathieu Flamini to Saint Etienne for £2.8M, a little on the low side but he wasn't playing and now he is 30 his value is not going to increase.
We also saw the departure of Monreal (WOO!!!!) to Olympique de Marseille for £6.5M.

We signed Liam McNeil (Regen) from Middlesbrough for an initial £1.3M.
View attachment 350497View attachment 350495I rejected a second bid from Chelsea for Ramsey, this time it totalled £36.5M but spread out over 4 years. Would have been tempted if it was all up front.

Arsenal moved up to 6th in the World based on reputation.

We replaced Carl Jenkinson with Serge Aurier for £9M.

Alex Oxlade Chamberlain understandably won the fans player of the year for last season.

Olympique de Marseille make an offer for Nicklas Bendtner, not only our top scorer from last season but also the Premierships top scorer, his value has strangely only risen to £9.5M (£13 million less than Jonny Evans moved to Spurs for) but OM come in with a sensational bid of £5.75M???????? Less than they bought Monreal for....... seriously what are they smoking?

Sold two of last seasons signings, Juan Jesus moved to Frankfurt for the fee which we purchased him for £7M. Mame Diouf who did notably better but was still unhappy about lack of opportunities moved for almost double what we paid 10 months earlier, leaving for Sevilla for £8.5M.

OM improve their Bendtner bid to £6.96M. What a joke.

Batshuayi the £6.75M signing of January who made one appearance and annoyed some of the supporters left for a season long loan to CSKA Moscow.

We make a massive signing in the form of Javier Pastore from PSG in a deal worth £18.25M.

PSG then make a bid of £2.5 M for Sagna, we try to negotiate for £7M and after consideration they withdraw their offer.

We sign Jorge Vivas (regen) from Boca Juniors in a deal worth £3.7M, he will join us in August 2015.
View attachment 350494View attachment 350493
We then have to spend slightly more than desired on a second keeper, we made several moves for Jack Butland but considering he was valued at 900K the £30M price tag Stoke were looking for made negotiations impossible, so we opted for John Ruddy from Norwich for £7M.
