9 Games without a win for Torquay Now.
Torquay United 2-2 Burton Albion

fulbright05.1110287040.q_e_stacy.jpg

Some Torquay fans still hopefull.

Torquay met Burton at home today. Torquay are now 8 games without a win and desperate to
change this. they are still sitting in a respectable top half place of the table due to thier good
start at the beggining. Burton lined up with a defensive 4-1-4-1.

Torquay looked to be on thier way to ending this winless streak as ***** Topp sprung free
and smashed the ball into the bottom corner to get Torquay off to a great start after just 35
seconds!

On 28 minuites Topp scored his 2nd of the game. Torquay fans went wild.

But then just before half time on 46 minuites Steve Kabba got the ball and smashed it at the
United goal it rattled the underside of the bar and bounced over the line. Torquay must have
wished they had the England v Germany referee!

40 seconds into the second half Burton drew level through the same man Kabba.

Harlock commented "we let it slip again and we just can't do this i feel we had the better game
today but we have to learn to hold our own and push for more goals. the goal before halftime
hit the team hard."

Rowe-Turner goes on loan to Eastbourne.

Rowe turner.

Lethanial Rowe-Turner joined Torquay United under ex-manager Paul Buckle and has yet to
impress Harlock. He enjoyed a few games in the first team when Torquay were riddled with
injury but since has been on the bench.

A deal has been struck between Torquay and Eastbourne for 3 months.

Rowe-Turner said "i am hoping to gain expirience here and maybe even move perminantly but
that will be discussed with Jordan (Harlock)"

Bradford deny Torquay.
Torquay 0-1 Bradford.

Bradford-v-Bournemouth-Gareth-Evans-mobbed_2384698.jpg

Gareth Evans celebrates only goal of the game.

Torquay went into this game still without a win. The awfull form now stretched to 9 games
could they end it against a strong Bradford side.]

There wasn't much action in the first half and it was looking to be a draw with both teams
cancelling eachother out. 0-0.

The second half was much the same with a few chances for both sides, on 72 minuites Gareth
evans got the ball in the area he drilled a shot towards goal poke did well to parry but Evans
followed up and poked into an empty net. 1-0.

the game wore on and it looked to stay at 0-1 with it still being 2 evenly matched teams.

Goalkeeper Poke said: "we have been on a poor run of late but everyone at the club is
desperate to turn it around."

Manager Comments:

This month has been another bad one for us, we apologize to the fans and i know they must
be sick of hearing that. Our attendances have dropped this month, hopefully they will
improve as results improve. smaller clubs like us rely on Gate reciepts as we need as much
money as possible. The coaching staff and the players have been working hard in training to
improve the perfomances and results and i feel we are on out way to 3 points soon.

Torquay waste another lead.
Hereford 4-2 Torquay

0,,10266~7514871,00.jpg

McQuilik scores Herefords 4th.

Harlock had to bring in Saul Halpin to the first team again today as Elliott Benyon and Mark
Ellis were sidelined through injury. Harlock called Mustapha Carayol into the left of midfield
to replace Jake Thomson who dropped to the bench. Harlock changed to a simple 4-4-2 to
start the game apposed to his usually prefered 4-2-2-2.

Just 3 minuites in topp ran through 4 hereford players to smash his 14th of the season into
the back of the net.

at 6 minuites topp was put through on goal by rendell to score his 2nd of the game and to put
torquay 2-0 up.

Hereford pulled one back on 23 minuites through mansett.

Hereford leveled through the same man Mathieu Manset. Disaster for Torquay but they
looked strong and may be able to pull it back.

halftime came and 4 goals already, Torquay had found themselves with a 2 goal advantage in
under 10 minuites but they gifted hereford 2 goals to get back into the game all square at the
break.

on 50 minuites substitute king scored for hereford 3-2 Torquay faced a hard 40 minuites
ahead knowing a point would be okay but 3 was the main objective they needed these 3
points.

Dissaster for Torquay on 65 minuites when Branston fouled Manset on the edge of the area.
McQuilik stepped up for the free kick and rifled it into the top left corner, poke had no chance.
Torquay now 4-2 down.

Harlock said "again we are dissapointed when we played burton we were 2-0 up like here at
edgar street but we managed to hold out for a draw and we played well but today we were
appaling and i have no excuses for the second half performance."

18 games now for terrible Torquay.
Torquay United 1-3 Port Vale

758018271-10112009205507.jpg

Port Vale Celebrate opening goal.

Torquay had more injuries to contend with this week with branston and mansell out along
with benyon and ellis. Harlock had to call Ed Palmer from the youth team up for his first senior
appearance he started along side charnock in the Torquay defence and Ryan Beattie was
called to the bench with Saul Halpin remaining there. Harlock surely needs to look at some
loan signings with constant injuries to the team.

Torquay were 1-0 down after 28 minuites from a craig Davies strike. Torquay shortly found
themselves 2-0 down after David Howland headed into Torquays net from a yard out.

Torquay pulled one back on 70 minuites through a diving header from Nicky Wroe. Marc
Richards pegged Torquay back just 4 minuites later to make it 3-1 to Port Vale.

Harlock refused to comment.

Titanic Torquay!
Rotherham 4-0 Torquay
XQTCVdM4_680.jpg

Rotherham celebrate 4th goal against struggling Torquay.

Torquay turned up to rotherham still looking for a win.

It didnt get off to a good start for Torquay as Tom Pope got Rotherham ahead after just 5
minuites.

on 25 minuites Le fondre made it 2-0. Torquay looked to be sinking. To make things worst on
33 minuites Harlocks side were 3-0 down and supporters had thier heads in thier hands.

Halftime came and Torquay would need a miracle to turn this around.

24 minuites into the second half Le Fondre scored his second and added Rotherhams 4th.
Guy Branston recieved a 2nd yellow for complaining to the officialls about Rotherhams 4th
goal.

Harlock was once again unavailable for comment but Branston had this to say "things at the
club are not going well and morale is at an all time low."

Torquay finally get 3 points.
Cheltenham 1-3 Torquay

0,,10445~8056148,00.jpg

Rendell overjoyed with 2nd of the game.

Torquay headed to Whaddon Road to play Cheltenham and they were desperate to secure
victory. Torquay still had selection issues with 4 players injured and Guy Branston
suspended. Harlock called Ryan Beattie and Saul Halpin beign called to the first team bench.

Torquay got off to a great start on 6 minuites when rendell got through on goal and smashed
the ball home to make it 1-0.

A Long throw from League 2's Rory Delap (Kevin Nicholson) and it landed to Scott Rendell
who turned Pook and slotted it low and into the goal. 2-0 Torquay. We had seen many games
recently where Torquay had got their hands on a 2 goal lead and let it slip so fans were taking
nothing as certain.

After the break Topp was free of the last defender and drilled it in from a tight angle 3-0 to
Torquay now, could the fans relax on 50 minuites?

On 77 minuites Torquay Defender Charnock was shown his 2nd yellow card and recieved his
2nd red card this season. Surely it was too late for Cheltenham to come back?

Just 2 minuites after the red card Eastham managed to get through on goal poke saved the
first shot, Robertson managed to clear of the line from his second shot but it fell to Eastham
again and he smashed it into the back of the net no chance of stopping it that time. 3-1.

Torquay held out for the rest of the game and got that victory they had been searching for.

Harlock said "it was a solid performance and just what we needed this will have raised team
morale and help us when Accrington visit plainmoor on Saturday, i want to see the same
performance from the boys."

Goalscorer of 2 Scott Rendell had this to say "it has been a huge boost to me and the team,
personally getting 2 goals has done me wonders after i had gone over 18 hours of football
without scoring and for a striker that is an awfull return."

npowerfooter.jpg

npowerhead.jpg

Torquay drop more precious points.
Torquay 0-3 Accrington

images

Branston brushes accrington striker aside.

Torquay went into this home game having just got thier first win in 19 games. But yet again
they suffered defeat. the scoreline flattered accrington and could have so easily gone the
other way.

Billy Kee scored 2 goals before half time one was blasted low and to the right on 30 minuites
then once again Kee found himself infront of the United goal and nodded home his second
on 45+2 minuites.

Torquay looked to be holding well in the second half holding Accrington back and getting in
some good chances but as the game wore on it looked unlikely that Torquay would get 2
goals before the end. Then came the sucker punch as Johnny Flynn managed to head home
from a deflected corner 1 minuite into added time.

Harlock said "yes its another defeat but we performed well and i am confident going into our
game against Darlington"

Torquay call in Topp replacment.

Marcus-Haber.jpg

Marcus Habber joins Torquay on loan.

Marcus Habber was snapped up on a 3 month loan by manager Jordan Harlock. Harlock was
searching for a replacment striker as soon as ***** Topp reported back with a long term injury
that could keep him out for up to 2 months.

Harlock said "Topp being injured will be a huge blow to us at the club but i feel Habber has
the skill to take off from where Topp took off who knows if all goes well we may look to
extend the loan."

Habber Said "I am delighted to get the chance of first team football, i hope i can help Torquay
to climb back up the table im excited to get back to football."

Will it ever end for Torquay!?
Darlington 3-0 Torquay

darlington-players-celebrate-gareth-waite-s-goal-500730904.jpg

Darlington celebrate 3rd goal.

Torquay went into this fixture hoping to put the defeat against Accrington behind them but
it wasn't to be when Jamie Devitt scored to put Darlington 1-0 up on 14 minuites.

Just before half time Devitt added his 2nd and gave Darlington a comfortable lead.

Torquay came out batteling 2nd half with Kevin Mcdonald being brought on to replace the
very poor Nicky Wroe. Torquay looked bright and continued to push higher and higher up
the pitch.

On 71 minuites Torquays fate was made certain when Curtis Main caught Torquay on the
counter he sprung free of the defenders at half way and it never looked in doubt when he
reached the penalty area.

Harlock said "i walk away from this game dissapointed again i don't think we deserve to be
on the end of another defeat but its results that matter and we must improve."

Hatrick in the space of 6 minuites!
Torquay 5-0 Crewe

0,,10445~6855029,00.jpg

"Super Striker Rendell"

Torquay went into this league game against crewe on the back of a 3-0 defeat to relegation
batteling Darlington. Harlock was looking to get back on track after an awfull couple of
months and he sure has started his recovery well beating Crewe 5-0!.

Torquay went ahead after 18 minuites with a great diving header by Chris Zebroski after a
Danny Stevens cross.

Torquay then doubled thier lead when striker Scott Rendell smashed home on 40 minuites.
Rendell Doubled his tally for the game on 42 minuites. Torquay looked comfortable and
nobody could see them loosing. and then super Rendell hit his hatrick on 46 minuites (45+1)
with a powerfull shot that beat phillips easily to go into the top corner.

Torquay came out 2nd half and refused to let up, the created more and morer chances and
could have scored many more. but there was only 1 goal to be which came through nicky
wroe in the 55th minuite from a great through ball by Habber.

Harlock said "it's amazing to win 5-0 against a team like Crewe when we have been on such
poor form but we have to keep our heads down and concentrate on the next game. but it just
goes to show we can beat anyone on our day."

Rendell was told he was being named as Super Striker Rendell by the fans today and he
responded by saying "im happy i am managing to hit the goals on a regualur basis as we
seem to be lacking something in front of goal and maybe i have warrented a place to stay in
the first team when elliott (benyon) and Topp return"

Torquay unfortunate against lincoln.
Torquay 0-2 Lincoln

0,,10445~7510943,00.jpg

Danny Stevens uses his skill and pace.

Torquay went into this game on the back of a 5-0 win against a very strong crewe team.
Harlock had vowed after that game to keep the momentum goin but it wasn't to happen at
Plainmoor today as Torquay had the better game but just couldnt find the net. Uniteds Danny
Stevens (pictured above) was a pain for lincoln all game.

The first goal of the game came in the 16th minuite when Adam Watts pounced on a bad
clearance by Ellis and powered home a header from 3 yards.

Both teams came out after half time and were quick to get back to the fierce play from the first
half. But with only 3 minuites of the 2nd half gone Guy Branston chopped down Adam Watts
and Lincoln were awarded a free kick. up stepped free kick whizz Scott Kerr he struck a
powerfull ball from 25 yards out into the top corner.

Harlock said "we need points and i understand that but we are continuing to put
performances in and it will be a matter of time until we get a win like crewe again. im looking
forward to morecombe."

All Square at Christie Park.
Morecambe 2-2 Torquay

0,,10445~7442086,00.jpg

Torquay's Mark Ellis Battles Hard.

Torquay Travelled to Christie Park in what proved to be a hard fought contest. Torquay were
expected to walk away with nothing but they disagreed.

Just 4 minuites into the game and Scott Rendell had got Torquay in front pouncing on a long
ball over the top from Nicky Wroe.

Just before half time Morecambe struck a sucker punch and hit Torquay on the break Mark
Duffy sprinted clear and placed the ball in the bottom corner to equalise for Morecambe.

The 2nd half got underway and at the exact same time as lincoln scored last game Matt
Watson put Morecambe infront on 48 minuites. Torquay seem to have trouble immediatly
after the break each game.

Harlock decided it was time for change and brought Youngster Saul Halpin on for the tired
looking Danny Stevens.

Carayol managed an almost imposible looking cross on 76 minuites, Saul Halpin sprinted in
and scored a diving header to put Torquay on level terms. it was only the 18 year olds 2nd
ever goal for Torquay in competitive games. after only being broguht into the first team this
season.

Saul Said "i am delighted to have the chance to be involved in first team football the whole
of my footballing training has been at this club and i love the club. to have scored 2 already
this season in only 6 starts i am very happy."

Harlock said "i am happy to get the point morecambe are a good side, And for Saul to be the
man to score the equaliser will have done him wonders he needs confidence and he will
become a superstar."

Torquay push 'till the end.
Torquay 3-2 Shrerwsbury

0,,10445~7252368,00.jpg

Man of the Match Danny Stevens.

Torquay went into this game on the back of a good draw against Morecambe and hoped to
get more points against 3rd placed Shrewsbury.

The Match was evenly matched and we had to wait until the 2nd half to see a goal. Dave
Hibbert managed to break the offside trap and hit home on 54 minuites.

Torquay looked determined to get something out of this game and equalised through a great
solo effort from Danny Stevens, he picked the ball up on the half way line and ran through
the whole Shrewsbury team using his trickery before getting into the penalty area and driving
the ball low into the right hand corner of the goal.

and as if that wasn't enough Stevens scored another spectacular goal 5 minuites later when
he was put through on goal by ***** Topp and placed his shot in the top corner no chance
for Button in the Shrewsbury goal.

Torquay had hold of the game so when Shrewsbury equalised on 82 minuites it was a huge
shock and Torquay were stunned. but the lead didnt last long when 2 minuites later
Mustapha Carayol raced down the right and scored from a tight angle to send Torquay fans
wild.

Jordan said "We came here and everyone said we would suffer defeat and a heavy one, yet
we had the better game and came away with three points it goes to show we will continue to
build and finish as high as possible."

Torquay steal 3 points.
Northampton 2-3 Torquay

0,,10425~8716574,00.jpg

Torquay defence pile on pressure.

With Torquay starting to pick up form Harlock was hoping to get something again against
Northampton but still in the bookies eyes they were struggling and were predicted to get
nothing, but Torquay proved them wrong again this week.

The match didn't start well for Torquay as Branston brought down Akinfenwa in the penalty
area to conceed a penalty it looked a soft decision. Uchechi had no trouble converting from
the spot.

20 minuites later and referee McDermid pointed to the spot for then 2nd time Charnock was
punished for an alleged push which everyone in the ground thought was a dive. McDermid
was growing more hated by the Torquay faithfull by the minuite. Uchechi converted from the
spot for the 2nd time today.

Torquay came out 2nd half pushing harder and harder and on 74 minuites Charnock netted
his first ever goal for Torquay from a Nicholson corner.

Torquay then got a late Equaliser on 88 minuites through ***** Topp who has just returned
from injury. The Torquay fans went wild they had grabbed a vital point!

But then in the 4th minuite of extra time that man ***** Topp popped up again. a shot by Saul
Halpin was parried and topp pounced on it on the edge of the 6 yard box and blasted it into
the centre of the empty net. The fans, the players and the Torquay bench all broke into
euphoria.

Harlock said "i am still on a high i can't belive we got 2 late goals but credit to the lads they
kept going until the end i think based on performance a draw would have been fair but we got
3 points and that was our aim before the game. we must watch complacency"

Topp said "i am delighted to get the Equaliser and the winner, to hear the fans chanting my
name was amazing, i love this club since coming at the beggining of the season and i am
aiming to hit the 20 goals mark before the end of the season."

Torquay outclass league leaders.
Torquay 4-2 Rochdale

1372435.jpg

Lee Mansell and Elliot Benyon get slightly too excited!!

Torquay met 1st placed Rochdale at Plainmoor today and after beating 3rd Placed
Shrewsbury Torquay were quietly confident going into this game.

Torquay wasted no time in getting started and Eunan Okane set them on their way after 4
minuites with a powerfull shot.

12 minuites in and Jake Thomson raced through on goal and made it 2-0 to Torquay.
everything looked great.

Just 2 minuites later and Torquay hit 3 with that man Jake Thomson scoring his 2nd of the
game.

Torquay looked like they were going to walk it but they suffered a crash back down to reality
when Chris O'Grady scored on 18 minuites.

4 Goals within 20 minuites and the game quietened down.

After the break Rochdale continued to look for more on the counter but it was mainly
Torquay pushing on. Rochdale got a freak 35 yard goal on 55 minuites through Chris Dagnall.

Torquay were still looking confident and settled the game in the 72nd minuite when
Mustapha Carayol crossed a teasing ball which elliott benyon latched onto in the box and
struck on the volley to make it 4-2 Torquay.

Torquay had destroyed League leaders rochdale.

Harlock said "i am happy with the result, i feel we shouldnt have let them come back to 3-2
but when you have just beaten the league leaders by 2 goals and managed to score 4 goals
against them you can't have many bad words!"

Thomson said "i am delighted to have bagged 2 goals so quickly but i had 70 minuites to get
the hatrick and im dissapointed i didnt manage it."

Grimsby strike lucky.
Grimsby 1-0 Torquay

Rob-Atkinson-goal-celeb-Grimsby-v-Barnet_2448331.jpg

Grimsby man scores only goal.

Torquay travelled to Blundell Park hoping to make it 4 wins on the trot but it wasn't to be.

Torquay's finishing seemed to have dissapeared with 6 or 7 good chances going over the bar.
A very different Torquay to what we had seen recently.

Torquay looked like they may hold on until halftime which would have been a miracle but
Grimsby striker Daouda Haidara scored a freak 30 yard half volley on 38 minuites, it had
micheal Poke scrambeling back to the line and getting his fingertips to it but it still managed
to hit the back of the net.

Torquay continued to attack but couldn't find a finish.

Harlock said "i feel we should have won but to win you need to hit the target, we have our 2
top strikers back and i expect us to be netting some goals but they have only been back for 1
or 2 games, hopefully they will hit home a few more before the season ends."

Jaimez-Ruiz steals the show.
Aldershot 2-0 Torquay

Aldershot31937News1.jpg

Jaimez-Ruiz makes one of many saves.

Torquay were looking to bounce back from their 1-0 loss to Grimsby on Saturday.

Things started badly for torquay as they found themselves 2-0 down within 7 minuites.
Marlon Jackson scored on 5 minuites 2 minuites later and Marvin Morgan made it 2 for
Aldershot.

David Winfield recieved a red card for chopping down Elliott Benyon on the edge of the
penalty area as he was about to pull hte trigger.

Torquay were on top from then on and looked to at least get one goal back but Aldershot
keeper Jaimez-Ruiz kept aldershot in the game with a string of amazing saves, Torquay had
an amazing 19 shots with 15 of them on target all game!

Harlock said "i am fustrated we didn't score but the keeper deserves alot of praise he kept
them in the game."

Torquay beat Macclesfield.
Torquay 2-0 Macclesfield

0,,10445~8895398,00.jpg

Torquay Goalscorers celebrate.

Torquay needed to get 3 points against 2nd from bottom Macclesfield they had lost their last
two games.

They started well pressing Macclesfield and on 22 minuites Eliott Benyon broke the deadlock
with a typical poachers goal from him.

Nicky Wroe then wrapped the game up on 76 minuites, not a spectaculaur performance but 3
points on the board for mid table Torquay.

Harlock said "a 2-0 win is good and 3 points is what we always aim for."

npowerfooter.jpg

Torquay lucky to get point.
Bury 1-1 Torquay

3919833941_d95c0e55f1.jpg

Torquays nicky wroe scores from the spot.

Torquay were safe and with only 2 games to go the results didn't really matter but manager
Jordan Harlock said he wanted to get the 3 points and finish the season on a high.

Bury broke the deadlock 1 minuite into the 2nd half through David Worral.

Torquay looked to be going down to defeat with bury piling on the pressure but on 82
minuites rendell broke down the right and crossed the ball for an unmarked ***** topp who
was pushed over just before striking the ball. Nicky Wroe converted the penalty.

Harlock said "we just wern;t good enough and didn't even deserve a point"

Torquay finish season with draw.
Torquay 1-1 Notts County

_45809967_torquay_parade_fans_phil_mingo_www.ppauk.com013.jpg

Torquay fans host friendly pitch invasion.

With Notts County already secured playoffs and not able to get automatic promotion even
with 3 points and Torquay consolidated in mid table this could have turned into a lacklusture
boring game.

But it started brightly both teams seeming to be going all out for the win. Benyon broke the
deadlock on 23 minuites with a trademark header from a cross provided by ***** Topp.

Notts County leveled 10 minuited from halftime through a Ben Davis Free kick.

Torquay fans showed thier support through a friendly non malicous pitch invasion.

Harlock said "i am happy with a point and as for the pitch invasion it has become almost a
tradition here at Torquay and happens at many grounds i see no problem when there is no
violence involved they simply congratulate the players and police are on hand to remove
any troublemakers."
