For a beginner I'd say you're okay? And what you've done opening a request thread is a pretty good idea, it'll get you making more signatures, and you'll improve all the time. When I started I was ****, and now I'm actually pretty good at 'em I think anyway.

I'd join a proper SIG place and I mean somewhere where they'll rip you to shreds and you can also have sig battles http://www.nationalsigleague.com/forum/

that's about the best place on the planet to learn sig making!! Don't give in and be your own worst critic, that way ypu'll improve and build up an appreciation for what people are critiquing you on and ultimately make you better!!
