After finally figuring out how to use the windows 8 snipping tool I have decided to do a story of my own.

I have decided to do a story with a few different stipulations.

  1. I am only able to sign players (on permanent deals) that are on the transfer list or are free transfers. I am able to sign that player early if there is a buy now clause but I am not allowed to make a transfer bid otherwise.
  2. I am able to sign players on loan, but I am not able to make an offer unless they are on the loan list.
  3. I am unable to arrange a future fee for any players signed on loan.
  4. I am unable to put a player on the transfer list unless they specifically request it.
These stipulations are designed to make sure that I don't go down the obvious route of buying your Balanta's, Odegaard's et al straight away. It also means that I am unable to just raid all of the best regens as soon as they enter the game. Hopefully this will mean I have to manage the squad of players I have rather than just buy the same old players I buy every save(that being said if Balanta goes on the transfer list he will be bought).

As the transfer list is always a bit stale in season 1 I have decided to holiday the first season and I will take control of the team that finished 17th in the English Premier League at the end of the season.

Please feel free to offer suggestions regarding additional or tweaks to the existing stipulations

So who is it going to be???

That's right I got a London club in QPR. More updates once I have had a look at the team and get to grips with what I want to do.

Summer Transfers.

So having looked at the squad there is a lot of work to be done. There are currently no QPR on the transfer list so I am unable to further boost my transfer kitty. That being said the board have given me a healthy kitty of 21 million and a reasonable wage structure.

I let any player who was out of contract leave as there was no one worth the money and as they weren't on the transfer list I was unable to offer for any of the players currently at the club on loan.

Below is a list of signings. All players were either on the transfer list or available on a free.

Here is the tactic I am looking to use during the upcoming season. I have a bit of money incase a superstar gets listed but I would ideally like a couple of more players out before I add to the squad. There is alot of dross in the squad like Ferdinand, Dunne and the scandanavian full back that was bought last year.

Interesting concept here mate! good luck with this! could get some interesting transfers from this

Great idea, it would be probably easier with Aston Villa but at least QPR always have money. Looking forward to the upcoming season!

Cheers. I thik I will need to pray on big team failures. Let them spend huge amounts on young talent and then not play them and then put them on the transfer list. The only problem with that is I will end up having a whopper wage bill as the big teams will have paid over the odds to begin with

I'm already regretting my decision to not be able to transfer list people until they request it as Ferdinand and Dunne are on huge wages based on their ability. Thankfully Barton's deal ran out a month after I joined. 65k a week for Barton beggars belief

When I saw the table with 1 game to go I was really hoping for Villa but it wasn't to be. I only realised once I had finished holidaying the first season that my game must have auto updated as alot of the up to date transfers were included(Gerrard to Galaxy etc) and it meant it would of been a different opening transfer list than what I am used to

Great idea, will be following.

Valencia was a bargain, is usually really good on FM

Really like the idea, may give this a go myself with Championship side. Good luck!

Cheers guys. I have started alot of saves in this fm only to get bored. I played three seasons at norwich recently where in season 1 I won the championship, season 2 the premier league and seasons 3 everything. Only because I was able to buy Balanta, Odegaard, tielemens etc when they were cheap. So there's no challenge at all, so I then get bored and start a new save only to buy the same players again and it happens over and over.

Hopefully by having these stips I can find a save that won't be too easy straight away and gets boring too quick. Hence the team that finished 17th.

Any suggestions as to additonal or tweaks to my existing stipulations?

yeah his wages are big though. Seriously needed a bit of quality especially in the final third. Verratti was on the list at 3.8 mil and I agreed terms only for Arsenal to swipe him at the last minute. Gutted, I would have built the team around him.

You won the Prem within 2 seasons? Behave.

Yeah I still think I have the save on my comp, I'll try and post a screenie tonight. season 1 I bought tielemens, odegaard and Vallejo. Start of season 2 I bought Balanta, Kranevitter Dybala and I got Zouma on loan. Once you have those type of players you just need a good tactic and your done. Norwich already start with Josh Murphy and Nathan redmond too, who are both ridiculous.

I think my season 2 side was Leali(Gk)
Vrsaljko(spelling),Zouma,Balanta, M Olsson as the back 4
Kranevitter and tielemens sitting in mid
Redmond, Odegaard and Murphy as a three
Dybala up top.

Pretty good team, didn't cost a bomb as I knew where to look.

Hence the challenge of the transfer system

The game gets too easy once you know the cheap players who perform well.
