February

We get the lst of the hard run of games out the way. I was honestly just hoping to keep in touch with the top 4 but in truth we were fantastic. Chelsea dropping points where I wouldn't expect it.

This run of results leaves in a great position I have tried to integrate Destro into the team gradually and he is beginning to show some form and fitness.

Top of the league but Chelsea with the game in hand. I am beginning to dream of the title but the FA cup replays were beginning to annoy me

March

This month went amazingly well aside from the heavy FA cup defeat to City. I rotated the squad where I could as I am going fully for the title now and I paid the price with a heavy defeat. The scoreline doesn't show the whole story as we took the lead and they only had 6 shots on target. McCarthy picked a good game to have a nightmare as if this was a league game I would of been raging.

The youth intake was awful. If and when the club is more financially stable a big upgrade in the facilities and stadia is desperately needed.

The table makes amazing reading. I am just hoping we are able to hold on. This run of form is bewildering in truth. 4 away games in my last 5 games has me worried especially with Old Trafford being my second to last destination.

So we managed to keep it together towards the end. We were hanging together by a thread come the end of the season and for the last game of the season I couldn't name a full bench.

Was it enough to secure the title....

It was enough. We won probably the most surprising title I have seen in this game. At no point during the season did I feel comfortable that we were going to win it but win it we did.

End of Season Update

Ehhh well that wasn't supposed to happen. This was meant to be a story about a struggling team in the league. That being said I do not believe the title will be defended as I have a massive rebuilding job to do, extra games due to continental qualification and poor finances to do it.

With that being said as soon as the team secured Champions league football for next season the board game me my budget for next season adding approx 11 million to my kitty of 0. I therefore have already secured 2 new signings for next season.

I am very happy with both signings as Vermaelen is a definite upgrade on Huth. Sergi Roberto I have had before and he is a good deep lying playmaker. I am looking at changing my formation for next season and becoming a bit more expansive. I think he and Fer will be a good mix and solid enough foundation in centre midfield.

I have a massive amount of players who are out of contract. They all aren't good enough but I am worried that it will leave my squad decimated and I will struggle to fund a large enough squad.

It is a lot of players to lose but most of them haven't played a game for me and it is 300k p/w of my budget.
I am just going to go for it and hope I can find some more bargains Siince I started the save I have only sold 1 player for money in Pazzini who asked to leave when Destro signed and I got under 700k for him. Not good or sustainable.

Man, this no longer looks like a challenge. You're too good at this game :P

I actually think winning the title could be a hindrance in the short term. The fan and board expectations have shot up.I have a threadbare squad and not much money to build. After all the departures I was left with 15 first team players and no youth to step up.

I am way under my wage budget which I have converted into an increased transfer budget and I have signed 1 marquee player since I last updated. Along with a few freebies on low wages(that are all but secured) I probably have enough money to sign 1 more player and I am not sure if it is enough.

I looked back at my results and of my 27 league wins 14 of them were by 1 goal(of which 8 were 1-0, I truly was the new George Graham). I can't expect that same level of luck for all of those results to go my way again. I also want to become more attacking this season so I don't think I will have as many clean sheets.

If I was offered a top six finish and Europe after christmas I would take it right now

Great season! I'm sure you will be able to pick up a few decent Loans to give your squad more depth as well and Vermaelen is a good signing. I predict a top 4 finish again!

Summer 2015

So I have previously mentioned 2 of my summer signings. I was conscious that I had to add both quality and depth to my squad. I let a lot of players leave on a free and I am now happy that the squad has far less passengers in it than when I joined. Due to a high quality left back going on the market I now have 4 left backs all of an ok or better quality. Frustratingly last season I had agreed to sell the Korean full back to Leicester for 10 mil up front for him to reject them. Now I cant get rid of him for free. A few of the players signed aren't ideal but they offered good value for money. Being a Scot and a Rangers fan Stevie Naismith on a free was a no brainer. He was originally bought to offer back up across my attacking midfield three but unfortunately Taarabt has broke his leg and is out for 6 months so Naisy will play much more than intended. Lindegaard came in for 12 kpw and replaces Rob Green who was on 50kpw.

So here is a list of all my signings.

I am trying to sign all the quality players I can as the transfer list is not guarenteed to always have quality available. Really happy with El Shaaraway and Lucas Moura in particular. Cleverely was originally signed to 2 year deal which I promised to extend at the end of the season and when the offer wasn't forthcoming he requested a transfer. Result! 8 million for a free signing ater 12 months who was never really good enough in the first place is good business.

This is how I envisage the team playing and this is my starting 11 (Mccarthy and Taarabt are currently injured)

Pre Season went well.

That being said I suffered a bit of an injury crisis so the Charity shield didn't quite go to plan. Having to play Danny Roseat left wing and Matt Phillips as my AP did not fill me with confidence. We actually shaded the game but Liverpool were just more clinical. Other than that it was buisness as usual in the league. A much kinder start than last year.

SO here is the league table. It also shows you my Champions Legue group. As we are 4th seeds I am actually delighted with the draw. No Superpowers in the group means I expect to challenge for top 2.

Transfer Update.

Andre Wisdom who was the clubs reserve rightback leaves the club to join Cardiff for a fee of 3.2 million. Replacing him and going straight into the team ahead of Jenkinson is Serge Aurier who joings from PSG for a feww of 1.7 million.

Absolutely delighted with this deadline day business. Puts me slightly over my wage budget but I can live with that.

Amazing, what kind of bargains you've gotten!

Amazing, what kind of bargains you've gotten!

You have to counter the small transfer fees with the larger than average signing on fees and wages that buying players from the big boys dictates. I made 7 signings this window that involved a fee, I feel that they were all done at under market value which is good but they are all on strong wages for a club like QPR.

Need a decent run in Europe to help with finances. We are just in the black but not by much. I have already received all of the prize and tv money. SO i wll rely on the 800k or so you get for a champs league win and the extra gate money to remain solvent.

Frustratingly we have sold out our season book's which is a near 50% increase from last year but the small size of the stadium is a real hindrance. I am hoping to make a decent profit this season to help fund some much needed upgrades to the stadium and facilities.

September.

THe season has started well and we are adjusting well to the extra midweek games. ON the flip side we lost Taraabt at the start of the season for 6 months and then shortly after that Valencia for 4 months. This left us very short in the attacking midfield department. We soldiered on though.

I was really happy with the champions league form. We haven't being scoring as freely as I would like; El shaarawry has been picking up niggles and hasn't being playing week in week out. Lucas Moura has settled in much better and is currently dragging the team through the harder games

October

Add Naismith and Austin onto the long term injury list. THe team has been limping along this month and we are really struggling for fitness. The extra champions league games and the injuries meant that we weren't playing to our full potential. Destro has had a poor start to the season also and with Austin out, I have tried to play Babacar in rotation with Destro.

View attachment 290867

The Millwall game ridiculous, I played a fully rotatated team where possible; I didn't have enough fit players to do it fully. Leroy Fer missed the 52nd penalty in the shootout to put us out. It was like that match at Wimbledon a few years ago with the American guy Isner.

View attachment 290866

So an early lead in the league table but I don't think Chelsea will be easy to shake off. Destro was in the middle of a ten hour goal drought. Really struggling for goals but the defence is tight. really happy with the champions league.oint top and 2 out of my 3 away games done. Delighted

November.

This was the month where i knew if we could get through this then we should be ok. Valecia is only a month away from being back and Taraabt and Naismith a month behind that.

View attachment 290861

Our hardest month yet but still keeping it tight at the back to avoid any unneccesary defeats.

View attachment 290859

Chelsea have a perfect month and close the gap on us. As you can see we topped our champions league group and our reward is a trip to Atletico.

Now we are a third of the way through the third season the transfer list is beginning to look rather tasty, Alexis Sanchez, Mangala and Ituserrpe are al available. Unfortunately for us I have no transfer budget and I am also 80k over my wage budget.
