Pre Season

So it was a fairly poor pre season results wise but it was all about getting fitness and used to the new tactic. Since I showed you my transfers last time I have also picked up Gael Kakuta on a free transfer after his Chelsea contract expired. He will battle it out with Junior Hoilett for the left wing role.

So I am ready to embark on the new season in the Premier league and in truth I am not too happy about the start I have been given. I just hope we don't start too poorly as once morale drops it is hard to get it back.

Man Utd apart I have all of the hardest teams in my first 8 league games. Wish me luck!!!

August

Not too disheartened by August's results in truth. 2 narrow defeats to big teams and the the exit in the cup on penalties after I fielded a very weakened team had me concerned about morale. The away victory to end the month has left the team buoyant and gets us off the foot of the table.

So I followed your path, took over 17th in the league for second season and was dissapointed to get Hull. Made the most of it and made some good signings. Moses, Tiote and Romero my favourites. Lots of changes but strengthened all areas and only two platers left. Happy so far in 12th after august.

Just realised that I forgot to mention that I also got Danny Rose from spurs. Rotting in the under 21's and the fee was approx 3 milion (i'm at work at the moment and can't remember the specific fee). he was signed before deadline day.

I have also secured another signing already for the January transfer window. I was really surprised to see him on the list and to be so cheap (2.9 million) although he is currently out with a long term injury. I will keep his identity under wraps until he actually joins but he could be a big upgrade on who I have currently if he is able to recapture his fitness and form.

This is how I set the game up

and I then went on holiday until the 24th May...

Looking at the table with one game to go it's between Aston Villa and QPR as to who I will take over tomorrow...

I was unable to offer for any of the players currently at the club on loan.

what I meant was that players who had been on loan at QPR season 1 (Vargas, Kranjcar and a few others who I can't remember) I couldn't keep as their loans expired and they weren't on the transfer list

I love the idea of this save mate, definitely an interesting idea that should freshen the game up a little bit! Key rule is to remember that rules can be broken in certain circumstances... don't let the rules you've implied ruin the game for yourself!

October.

A really difficult month and unfortunately no wins in three league games. That being said they were all teams that we can't expect to beat regularly. I was glad that no beatings were handed out but then again I have set the team up to be hard to beat. That's all the hard teams aside Man Utd dealt with though.

November 2015

Finally some easier games and it showed in our results.

These are the games we have to win. At the start of the season I had hoped to finish between 10th and 15th. Now with the start we've had I am looking at top 10. I have been really impressed with Leroy Fer and Gael Kakuta in particular. 4 goals from centre mid and 6 goals from the left wing have been vital in our early success.

The table makes great reading but I have no doubts that it won't last. Still got my surprise signing for December but it looks like he will need to get over his injury problems for him to make an impact.

A great start to the season mate! keep it up and will be interesting to see who pops up on the transfer list in Jan!

If only I had some cash. Here's hoping some squad players are sick of not playing and request a transfer

December

Our busiest month by far and I am on the whole delighted. The only negative was being 2 up against Utd before their inevitable comeback. That being said this run of form has been a major surprise to me.

That is championship winning form although I have to temper that attitude with the knowledge that these were some of the weaker teams in the division.

It leaves us in a great position in the league. Last season this team finished on 39 points and this year it took me 18 games to get to that total. Austin and Kakuta again have been instrumental and they both have 10 league goals each. Kakuta getting that from the left wing is even more impressive. A certainty to be my signing of the season seeing as he was a free transfer.

Here are a few screenshots of both Austin and Kakuta. Austin was a slow burner to begin with but has been on fire recently.

And finally I signed this guy in September and have had to wait 4 months for him to arrive and now he has arrived my striker is on fire. If he stays fit he should be the extra bit of quality we need.

I mentioned Danny Rose earlier so this is an update of all my transfers. Hoping that Destro for under 3 mil proves to be a bargain.

A great signing there in Destro!

Here's hoping. I had a look at his previous injuries as when I signed him he was out for a while. It didn't make for good reading. If he gets fit and stays fit he should be our best forward by a distance. At under 3 mil he is a gamble worth taking.

How can you be 2nd with QPR? Are you an FM god or what ? :P

You appear to be making this challenge look very easy :D keep up the good work

No just a 30 year old who has been playing the game since he was 15.

I always look at the strength of the players you have and play to that strength.

I was lucky with the calibre of player on the list, Jenkinson and Rose are both good young english fullbacks and huth has 10 years exp in prem and is solid. Caulker is very overated in the game too.

Sandro and Fer are solid although I am not too happy with cleverley.

I also find that pace on the wings allied with the pass into space instruction is deadly. The team is set up to sit in, clear the ball to the flanks into space(ie behind the fullback) and hope our pace gets us in behind, which it does more often than not.

I am hoping to move onto my preferred 4-2-3-1 next season (the same tactic as the Norwich one I showed earlier). More than likely dropping cleverley, moving Sandro up to centre mid and playing Taarabt in his preferred position rather than on the wing

January

The hard games have came around again and my 1st league game of the year couldn't of been harder with Chelsea at the bridge. We got a bit of a battering but I was pleased we at least showed that we wouldn't lie down easily by scoring twice. The point away at White Hart Lane was a well earned one also.

I played a completely rotated squad for the FA cup as I am fighting hard for a champions league spot.

I actually had taken an earlier screenshot to show you the league after my last Jan game but Chelsea played the day after the capture and lost to West Ham to make the table look even better.

Although it is looking really good in the league the finances are terrible. We are projected to be 50 million in the red by the season's end. I am really concerned that all prize money and TV revenue will be required just to balance the books. Which will leave no money for improving the playing squad which will badly be required if we do obtain European football next season
