Bayern talks with Klose have broken down
Bayern Munich today confirmed Germany striker Miroslav Klose will leave the club at the end of the month after talks over a new deal broke down.

Klose, 32, joined the Bavarians from Werder Bremen in 2007 and has scored 24 goals in 98 Bundesliga games. He was a peripheral figure last season with Mario Gomez emerging as the club’s first-choice target man.

Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge today said: “Unfortunately talks with Miroslav Klose have not led to a positive conclusion.

“We would have liked him to stay but we could not find common ground on the length of the contract period.

“FC Bayern would like to wish Miroslav and his family all the best for the future and are grateful for his contribution over the past four years.”

Klose, who has been linked with Lazio and Valencia, said: “I have had four beautiful and successful years at Bayern and I thank them warmly.

“It was special to play for this club.”

Poland-born Klose made his name at Kaiserslautern before joining Bremen in 2004.

He helped Bayern to the Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal double in his first year at the club and was also instrumental as they reclaimed the league title in 2010 and reached the final of the Champions League.

He has won 109 caps for Germany, scoring 61 times, and his record of 14 goals in World Cup finals is second only to Brazil’s Ronaldo.

Daily Telegraph said:
Martin Jol and Steve McClaren are likely to return to English football this summer after Aston Villa and Fulham included both men high on their list of candidates to become their next managers.

I would really like to see Jol back in the premiership. I thought he was harshly dismissed at Spurs and I always liked his management style

Apparently Carlo Ancelotti is on his way to Villa, I can see Wally fitting in at a club like Fulham, similar to Boro were when he was manager

Ancelotti said today he's taking a year out of coaching to "study his colleagues". He's not going anywhere.

Also, not a rumour - but I would LOVE Hulk to come to United.

Fair enough....:faceapalm:

Sure Hulk was linked with United earlier this summer. Would love Falcao in the EPl though

Falcao wouldn't get into our team, but Hulk on the wing cutting inside would resemble Ronaldo doing it.

Would be so frightening.

Just rumours but a few of them flying around.

SAF is looking at 16 year old David Bosiocic from Serbia for £2m.

Ashley Young Has pretty much signed for Man U. It's almost done.

Samba has apparently agreed a contract with a London club. Presumably Arsenal.

Hiddink will be the new manager of Chelsea very soon.

BenSmith_Times
Guus Hiddink's return to #CFC is now a matter of when and not if. He was always the first choice.

Seems like it's pretty much a done deal now then..

Don't be offended GodCubed, but I'll put a tenner to a charity of your choice if you lot get into the CL before we do. Said before it's about the ambition of Villa as much as anything else for Downing. And I can see him being there next season as there will probably be much better value buys to be had than the £16m supposedly being quoted for Downing (was £1m out in price XD) and he's just leaving options open at the moment while clubs see if their first choices are available or not.

None taken, but my point remains. You're not in the Champions League next season, and I reckon you won't be the season after that. Downing will be what, 28, before you have a realistic chance of taking a tilt at the top four? Not to mention the fact that if you get the targets you want, he'll spend most of the season on the bench and not even playing in the CL.

It's Milner all over again. "Oh I want to move to a CL club so I'll move to... City/Liverpool!". Hopefully though, we'll pull the same trick we did with Barry, and refuse to sell unless the price is extortionate.

Oh, and the tenner goes to Acorns if we do. ;)

According to the danish tv-station tv2sport Liverpool seems ready to sell Daniel Agger, if the price is right. This comes after the Echo reported Leverkusen placing a bet of 11 millions euros for Agger.

Liverpool ready to sell Daniel Agger
Sources at Merseyside tells tv2sport.dk, that Liverpool is ready to sell Daniel Agger as it has been reported monday. If the price is right.
Daniel Agger is linked to Bayer Leverkusen, who allegedly has offered 11 million euro - About 82 million danish kroner or 9 million pounds
Without saying whether there is a concrete offer from Leverkusen, sources at Liverpool, says the English club is willing to let the danish defender leave, if the price is right. Liverpool seems worried about the many injuries, which has given Agger many problems since the transfer from Brøndby in 2006, and wonders if he will ever fully recover.
Daniel Agger has several times denied he was on his way out of Liverpool, but ended the past season being on the injurylist. He also didnt figure in the weekend, when Denmark beat Iceland. The defender has played 136 games for Liverpool and scoret 7 goals.
Liverpool has this summer been linked to both Gary Cahill from Bolton and Dejan Lovren from Lyon, who both play central defence.

Be sad to see Agger go. Really think we should give him one more year and after that he has to go. Honestly rate him as one of the best in Prem when fit. Will see anyway.

15 million please.

Honestly, I'd love to offload Eboue for a ridiculous price.

Same with Rob Hulse...honestly though, you will not get past 3-5M from us, if that, if we spend more than 5M on a single player this summer, i will eat something.

;)

Why do you think we won't be in the CL in 2 seasons time ? Do you think we'll fail with Kenny back in charge ? That turnip Hodgson cost us any chance of CL next season & I'm absolutely certain that had KK been in charge from the off we've had gone very close to top 4.

I'm pretty certain 'Pool will improve. However, it's a question of relativity: City will improve by huge amounts, United will rebuild and come back stronger, Chelsea will be rebuilding with huge wodges of cash, and Arsenal's team will be coming to fruition and can take advantage of their new money reserves. Not to mention Spurs will still be a threat, and possibly even us if we can get our act together as well as Everton. You can do it, but I don't think in the season after next. Maybe I'll be wrong though.

That, my friend, has long been the problem sad to say. FSG want to get the wage bill down so that they can bring in new players & Dan spends far too much time in the treatment room. He doesn't represent value for money these days as we'll be lucky to get 15 games from him next season.

Radio: Van der Kraan: Sneijder wants to move to Manchester United | Radio talkSPORT

Leading Dutch football journo talks to TalkShite about how Sneijder sees United as being the perfect club as Paul Scholes has retired... stumbling block of 175k wages.

Make your mind up sunshine, and I don't think 175k a week would be a stumbling block.

Arsenal are being offered Barcelona midfielder Thiago Alcantara, 20, as part of a £50m swap deal for Cesc Fabregas.

Can't see any truth in that, he's the natural successor to Xavi. However, if they've really offered cash + Thiago, then they should deal at that.

Falcao wouldn't get into our team, but Hulk on the wing cutting inside would resemble Ronaldo doing it.

Would be so frightening.

I'd like Hulk too but that would mean dropping Tony V.

I was just reading that in the paper, apparently 'Arry is looking at signing Joe Cole to replace him XDXD
