I enjoy experimenting with different tactics and broadly speaking i've enjoyed decent success with various formations. Generally, the most successful formation i've developed is along the lines of:
GK
DR - Wing Back, Attacking
DL - Wing Back, Attacking
CB
CB
DM - Def Mid, Defensive
CM - Box to Box
AM - Attacking Mid, Support
AMR, Winger, Support
AML, Inside Forward, Attacking
FC - Advanced Fwd/Complete Fwd
Control tactic with a balanced philosophy. I press more, tackle aggressively and put a lot of pressure on opponents. I get a varied service to the front man and it usually works well.
The 2 exceptions i've had with different tactics are using a standard 4-4-2 and developing a tactic with a trequarista
I'm curious - for those of you using a 4-4-2, what team settings and individual tweaks do you tend to go for?
And has anyone had success using a trequarista? If so, how do you use him and how do you set the rest of the team up to balance out the lack of defensive discipline from deploying one?
Cheers
