I only use Waste Time in the final minutes of the game when i'm holding a 1 goal lead but most of the time i stick to the base tactic because i'm 2 or 3 goals up!
I never change the mentality of the tactics though! I notice that you change from counter to balanced or control a lot, but balanced and control are more attacking mentality's than counter which make you team push higher by default! Because of the Team instruction "Much higher def line" you will be even more attacking than with the counter mentality and less able to defend. Maybe that's why you concede so many goals!
I think this is the best approach with this tactic:
-Always start with the Counter tac!!
-When leading at half time: keep going and when you're still leading by only one goal after the 75th min: change to Waste Time tac.
-When drawing at half time: change to Overload tac and when you score change back to Counter tac immidiately!!! When still leading by 1 at the 75th min: change to Waste Time tac.
-When losing: Immidiately change to Overload tac and when you equalize keep on Overload until you go ahead! Then change back to Counter tac and afther 75th min change to Waste Time if only ahead by 1 goal
Don't make any change to Mentality of Fluidity! Keep to the advice in the OP and you will dominate everthing! See my United result in post #473

Let's get one thing straight here.
I only change to balanced instead of VERY fluid when i was in the lead and not wanting to swap to time waste due to not having the substitute options to change the setup (dont want Van Persie as CM).
Balanced makes you're players take LESS risks forwards and try LESS spectaculare things, so it was a defencive precaution.
That change havent cost me anything, and worked as far as i could tell superb.
When talking about controll, i do see you got a point there, but i only use controll vs very weak teams at home (NEVER AWAY), because it would help me pass the ball around a bit more to find openings. I can see that the general idea is that it woutn work with this tactic, but for me, it was not bad at all when i tried it.
What cost me the quadruple if you want, is that the time waste in crucial matches turned out to instead of CONTAINING, would allowe the opponent to get more time to open me up, and hence lose me throphies like CL were i totaly dominated until i tried to play it safe to grab the silverware to take home.
IT might have been random AI, but it also might have been that Time was a poor choice by me when only 2-1 up vs Bayern in last minutes of extratime (becasue they dominated me hard when i changed).
That leade me to the question....
Would it not be better to have an attacking, more passing oriented version availbe in the 3rd slot instead of a time waste you are suppose to use the last 3min with a huge lead?
As i see it the only problems this tactic has is away games, were a more cautius approach with more passing might have been thae way to go.
im NOT saying it is, but as far of my own experience with tactics and unreal, it was what i felt was lacking.
But i stand by what i said, this tactic is the most fun one i have tried in fm2014, anmd although it did not take me anywere close to my jassar's 280 games+ unbeaten with atletico madrid (thanks patches for wrecking it ><), it gave the ful land whole experience of beeing a manager and leading YOU'RE favorite club to glory!
