Oke, then i'll start a new game this with Spurs! They have a perfect squad for this tactic i think.
 
Good tactic.

Unfortunately, I wasn't quite able to win the league with Newcastle (first season). I finished second place, five points behind Man City. However, I did manage to win the FA cup, beating some strong teams like Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham to do so. Finishing second place in the league and winning the FA Cup is pretty good for a mid table team, so I can't really complain.

One question, though. I find it a little strange that the 'overload' version of the tactic has a counter mentality. Wouldn't it be better to set that to attacking or even overload since it's intended to be used when you really need to score?

Unreal is the ONLY Manager experience in FM2014.
Only flaw it has is that its 2 counter and 1 contain, and sometiems thats not enough to change the game around enough.
BUT this IS the fm2014 experience, there is nothing better if you want to manage.

Currently in a save with Tottenham and the results have been promising! Got beaten on the first day of PL, but that happened in my Man Utd save as well and went on unbeaten only drawing 4 matches! I'll hope that trend will continue :P
 
Love this tactic! Just played Chelsea in Capital one cup, but played all my reserves (except Lloris) because of competition game just 2 days ago.. They played on full strenght..
 
Which strikers do you guys have the best success with? I'm intrigued by all the hype this tactic is getting, so I think I'll start a save. But not sure what team to go for yet, because I don't know what strikers actually works well for this tactic.

Most of the strikers I like don't fit the criteria that has been recommended in the OP. :(
 
Amazing tactic won the treble with tottenham with the most recent transfers! (league, FA and europa) lost the final of the carling cup. Only bought Volland, Schmelzer and Shaqiri all for £38m and sold £10m worth of players.
Second season, spent £65m and sold £70m worth and for the moment won 9 games in a row in the start of the premier league, lost the community shield against chelsea extra time (2-1) but beat man city 1-0 in the european super cup and also beat monaco, athletico and olympiakos in my first 3 CL games! amazing tactic!!

Look for strikers with good mental stats like Determination, Work Rate and Teamwork. Because of their versatility (they're required to play 3 roles basicly) it will help a lot if those stats are high! (+15).

Also any striker needs to have a few basis stats like: Finishing, Off the ball and Composure. I would recommend at least one of your strikers to be pacey (Acceleration is more important than Pace!!) but two fast strikers works best! Because of the tactics mentality (Counter) you'll be hitting your opponent a lot on the break, so pacey strikers are recommended!

A few examples:
Carlos Fierro, Luciano Vietto, Gabriel Barbosa, Wilfried Bony, Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, Kevin Volland, Danny Welbeck, Javier Hernandez.
 
a good header is also useful, a lot of crosses coming in from the wingbacks. Oscar Cardozo is huge for me using this tatic
 
I'm currently got a mix of Lukaku/Jay Rodrigues or Lukaku, Shane Long, will purchase Barbosa or Volland next transfer window to partner Lukaku!
 
The CF(s) always seems to be getting low ratings and barely scores/assists, consistantly getting 6.5,6.3 or 6.1 ratings :/
 
Thanks for the replies guys! Bony is doing pretty well for me, but Benteke not. Probably because of his offside sniffing PPM.
 
Started using the Monstrous a few days ago. Was using Veez 5-2-3 killer (Attack) and (counter) until i changed PC's and lost the tactic from my hard disk and had to find something new.

Im in season 2027-28 where i recently left Liverpool and went for a "Lesser" club in Spain. Took the job at Villarreal and after testing a few different tactics ended up on this and it seems to perfectly fit the team i have, getting decent results and not getting board meetings about not being constantly in the top 4 of the league table any more.

Only down side ive seen so far is sometimes the player ratings seem to average around 6.5-7 even when i win, unless its by 3 goals when they get up to nearly 8 O.o.

Although im probably being picky.

3 games vs Barcelona (2 cup, 1 league) 3 wins. Things are looking up and now im 5th and in the semi final of the spanish cup. Happy days

I just completed my second season with Newcastle using this tactic and WOW, I won everything! And I do mean everything, League, FA Cup, Capital One Cup and the Champions League. I had a fairly successful first season with this tactic, but the second was just incredible.

To be honest, I wasn't even expecting to make it to the first knockout round of the Champions League because I was handed a tough group that included Bayern Munich and Juventus but I ended up finishing top and I also smashed Dortmund (who who it last year) 9-2 on aggregate in the semi final.

Came 2nd in 2015 with Everton and Manchester City was in the Europa league so Aguero was tranfer listed, if he doesn't beast at CF(s) they i don't know what will!

Hate that **** low rating

Awesome tactic never the less tho.

Guys, I've updated Base and Overload tactics.

Changes:

- Tweaked shooting setting for many positions.
- New corner/throw-in setup.


Make sure that player(STCL) who has "Lurk Outside Area" instruction don't take corners because it's important role during attacking corners.

Also be careful with players who have "Shoots From Distance" PPM and always add to them "Shoots Lees Often" PI.
