Oh When The Robins Go Marching In!
At the end of this month we'll know just how much work Swindon will have to do to overturn the top 2 Leeds and Norwich. 4 games to play this month and 1 of them is a clash with Norwich. A very important time so when Tomasz Cywka got struck down for 2 weeks after an injury picked up on international duty, Chris Saunt must have been fearing the worst.
League 1
Swindon 1 - 0 Bristol Rovers
Austin
This match looked a certainty for a draw until Charlie Austin had his usual say. He banged in his 20th goal of the season on 89 minutes to send the home support into raptures. Goalkeeper David Lucas played through a knock to keep a clean sheet but will he be fit for Brighton.

League 1
Brighton 1 - 4 Swindon
McGovern, Austin 2, Sheehan
With David Lucas passed fit the defence should have been reasured but not on 10 minutes when Brighton snuck infront. That lasted until 26 when McGovern got Swindon level to which the score stayed the same until half time. Swindon came out flying in the second half with 2 Charlie Austin goals and a trademark free-kick from Alan Sheehan.

League 1
Swindon 0 - 2 Norwich
A crucial 6 pointer lost by the Robins. It didnt matter in the end that Pericard and Sears were back from injury. The game was a nightmare for Swindon. Key defender Dorian Dervite went off injured and will miss 6 weeks and Craig Easton got sent off. Swindon then brought on Gareth Williams but he got injured (4weeks) so the Robins now severly lack a defensive midfielder with Jono Douglas out already. The Free/Loan Deadline is in just a couple of days.
Transfer In
Emmanuel Frimpong from Arsenal - 3 month loan
League 1
Hartlepool 0 - 3 Swindon
McGovern 2, Sears
The team news for Swindon was that Dervite, Williams and Easton were out and in was a debutant from Arsenal, Emmanuel Frimpong. 0-0 at the break looked reasonable after David Lucas (10 days) went off just before the whistle. Just after HT, Swindon lost Pericard to injury which will keep him out for the rest of the season (2 months). After the departures, McGovern got Swindon's wheels rolling with a goal either side of a Freddie Sears strike. Not long left in the season now, Swindon occupy 4th.

April 2010
The Business End of The Season!

April will be a crucial month for the hole of League 1 but especially Swindon who loom large as over achievers this season. A play-off place still not sealed though but with Leeds up first in April, Automatic still not completely dead in the water either.

League 1
Leeds 4 - 0 Swindon
David Lucas recoverd in time to start this massive game for Swindon. Unfortunately he had to go off after picking up a damaged elbow and will now miss 3 weeks. As for the goals they all came from Leeds in a complete smashing in the end.

League 1
Swindon 2 - 0 Tranmere
Sears, Paynter
Everytime you lose a game the best thing you can do is win the next one and for Swindon win this one they did by 2 goals to nil and it could have been more if Cywka and Kupisz shots didnt both come back of the woodwork in what is their last games for Swindon.

League 1
Colchester 2 - 2 Swindon
Easton 2
Swindon started this one very slowly. 2-0 down after 22 minutes but as everyone knows this season, Swindon never give up. Craig Easton hit 2 stunning 30 yards screamers and could have put his side infront on 74 but his 35 yarder came back of the crossbar.

League 1
Swindon 2 - 2 Exeter
Austin 2
Douglas and Sears return without any real effect. 2 Charlie Austin strikes pulled the Robins back from 1-0 down only to throw away their lead in the last 15 minutes.

League 1
Swindon 2 - 4 Walsall
Morrison, Sears
Swindon finally scored first in a match for the first time this month. Sean Morrison glancing header on 12 minutes but after that it was all Walsall who pinged in 4 goals before Sears got 1 back. Douglas also missed most the match after being injured. Swindon look uncertain at the back with Jesionkowski in goal rather than the injured Lucas.

League 1
Wycombe 0 - 1 Swindon
Austin
Keeper Lucas and Center Half Dervite return for the Robins as well as Douglas. Charlie Austin was the match winner in a nervous affair. Swindon are in 6th with their play-off place in the balance.

May 2010
The Season Finale

Just 2 games left in League 1. For Swindon its a home game against Brentford and then away to play-off rivals Millwall. Swindon will be devasted if the mentioned games are the only games in May and a play-off place an expectantcy. A play-off final would be a dream come true for the season, Should they win Swindon will be in the Championship for the first time in years.

League 1
Swindon 1 - 0 Brentford
Sears
SWINDON HAVE SEALED THEIR PLAY-OFF PLACE. Another nervous 1-0 victory for the Robins has secured their play-off spot. Freddie Sears the hero with a penalty on 15 minutes.

League 1
Millwall 1 - 1 Swindon
Sears
This result means that Swindon will have to play Millwall twice more in the play-off semi finals. Sears opened the scoring on 12 minutes but another nervous 1-0 wasnt to be as they buckled under pressure.

Play-Off Semi-Final 1st Leg
Swindon 0 - 1 Millwall
Complete agony for Swindon as they should have been 2 or 3 up before Mr.Millwall - Neil Harris scored on 56 minutes. The Lions will take a 1-0 lead to the New Den for the 2nd leg in just 3 days time.

Play-Off Semi-Final 2nd Leg
Millwall 1 - 0 Swindon
What a heart-breaking result for the comeback kings. A comeback too far for Swindon and theyll remain in League 1 next year. They gave it a real go but went down early after Liam Trotter put Millwall infront. After that Swindon tried pushing foward to get back into the game but Millwall defended well and retained possession in the Swindon half to make it as difficult as possible.

Player Review 2009/10

The Squad
GK - David Lucas - What a keeper this guy is. When Jesionkowski had to go in goal in April it was so pivital to the promotion push.

DR - Scott Cuthbert - A solid center back and accomplished at right-back. A brilliant player but still a problem area, Loanee Darby started off here until the loan ran out then Cuthbert as in and out with Kevin Amankwaah.

DL - Alan Sheehan - A free-kick specialist and solid defensively but intelligent when he goes foward. Saunt has stated that he would like to make his move permanent after such a successful year.

DC - Dorian Dervite - One of the most consistent central defender in the team this year. He developed a fantastic understand very quickly with Greer which really worked well for Swindon.

DC - Gordon Greer - Another top performer. Saunt kept the same back 5 of Lucas + DR, Dervite, Greer and Sheehan all season and it showed game after game that they were confident playing with each other.

MR - John-Paul McGovern - Has and will reak havoc forever more should he continue to play like he has this season. 7 goals and even more assists.

ML - Alan O'Brien - A J.P.McG with a left foot. Really dangerous wingers for Swindon was certainly a big factor in Sears and Austin getting 45 goals between them this year.

MC - Jonothan Douglas - As well as the winger, Douglas has been a indispensible player for the Robins. Club captain and solid performer. Breaks up play and keeps it simple so the more attack minded players can roam free.

MC - Tomasz Cywka - Another problem area occupied by loan signings most of the season with Kupisz, Cairney and Bostock all playing a big part in this role this season.

ST - Freddie Sears - A joy when fit and available. He could have played alot more if the U20 World Cup didnt play a factor in his season and constant injury problems. Never the less, 20 goals is a great return.

ST - Charlie Austin - Has forced his way into the starting 11 week in week out. 25 quality goals and a real fox in the box. A good old fashioned finisher. A striker with such poaching talent will surely attract interest from a few bigger fish in the football pond.

The Rest -
Strikers Paynter and Pericard have been superb this season not in goals but hold up play and creating for others. 10 goals was their target and they didnt come far off.
Billy Bodin is attracting interest from Coventry after his debut season. He only really got his chance through an injury crisis but he gave it everything he had. Potential profit to be made from him. Gareth Williams was an emergency purchase during the crisis as well but turned himself into a challenger for Douglas' balling winning role. Mostly a sub but a pro in every sense of the word.
Manu Frimpong and Craig Easton made decent impacts when called upon in midfield as did Sean Morrison and Jean-Francois in defence.

Pre-Season 2010-11

After such a fantastic effort in 2009/10, Swindon Town now turn their attention to the new season. A £190k budget has been announced for Transfers.

Tomasz Cywka from Wigan - £65k
Danny Drinkwater from Man Utd - EOS Loan

Kurt Hammonds - Released
Mark Scott - Released
Nathan Thompson - Released
Sean Morrison to Bristol City - £700k
George Wood - Released - GK Coach
v Newport County - Away
A smashing start from Swindon. 5 goals from some exceptional play with Pericard getting 2 goals. Marshall, Austin and Amankwaah also grabbed goals.

v GH Academy - Home
Pericard is looking impressive as he scored another pre-season goal. Austin is also on 2 in 2 in pre-season. McGovern, O'Brien and Paynter also got goals.

v Portsmouth - Home
Swindon made a great start in this game. With Austin putting them infront. Portsmouth responded strongly scoring 3 goals to put them into a comfortable lead. Swindon fought back though to 3-3 with Austin getting them back into it and a Sheehan free-kick completed the comeback.

v Fulham - Home
A very reasonable effort to say the least for Swindon. They were at 1-1 for most of the game but clinical finishing provided Fulham with a 3-1 victory.

v Burnley - Home
Swindon were ahead until just before half time when they conceded a penalty which Burnley put in. Just after the break though Swindon conceded another daft penalty to put them behind. Burnley then moved up a gear and made the game comfortable at 3-1. Swindon look strong though all be it having 2 losses in pre-season.

August 2010
A New Dawn, A New Day, A New Season
Swindon's preparation went very well for them with some brilliant performances against 2 Premier League sides and Championship Portsmouth they rescued a draw. They have had a blow though with David Lucas, Jakub Jesionkowski and Callum Antel all injured so 4th choice keeper Jamie Stephens whose just 16 years of age will start the season in goal. He only came into the squad this season with the new batch of youngsters into the U18 squad.
League 1
MK Dons 1 - 3 Swindon
(Sheehan 44, Austin 54, Cuthbert 67)
Everyone wants a win on the first day and thats exactly what Swindon got. Sheehan with a free-kick just before half time for the Robins. Dons were level on 51 when Stephens was finally beaten but goals from Austin and Cuthbert earned Swindon an opening 3 points.

League Cup 1st Round
Swindon 3 - 0 Wycombe
(Cuthbert 33, Pericard 64 90+3)
Jesionkowski was named fit for the game today but Stephens kept his place and got a clean sheet. Cuthbert gave Swindon the lead and they never looked back. 2 second half goals from Vincent Pericard rounded off the scoring. Swindon progres to Round 2.

League 1
Swindon 0 - 1 Crystal Palace
(No Scorers)
Palace lost theyre opening game in League 1 and in the League cup but earned a 1-0 win against Swindon today. Stephens was uneligible after playing for the U18s so Jesionkowski went in goal. O'Brien picked up an injury and will miss 4 weeks.

League 1
Bournemouth 1 - 1 Swindon
(Castaignos 53)
Bournemouth have taken League 1 by storm so far this season and would have won it if Luc Castaignos didnt get Swindon level on 53 minutes but Swindon couldnt push on as the game finished in a stale mate.

League 1
Swindon 3 - 1 Gillingham
(Austin 7 28, Pericard 27)
Swindon struggled against the Gills last season but not a sniff of it this time as Pericard and 2 Charlie Austin goals gave them a 3-0 lead after just 28 minutes. The Gills got a goal back but this one was settled in the opening half hour. Luc Castaignos and Gareth Williams picked up injuries keeping them out for 6 weeks and 3 weeks respectively.

League Cup 2nd Round
Swindon 0 - 2 Plymouth
(No Scorers)
Swindon just couldnt get going in this one. The Plymouth midfield ruled the game and goals on 3 and 52 minutes got them through to Round 3. Sloppy starts to each half really cost Swindon.

League 1
Torquay 1 - 2 Swindon
(Cywka 24, Austin 66)
Torquay are finding it hard in League 1 and lay 20th before the game began. Swindon took the lead from a bullet shot by Cywka. Torquay leveled from the spot just before half time. Charlie Austin earned Swindon a sensational amount of point for Swindon last season with winning goals and he done it again today with a super finish. Swindon are flying again this season already in the play-off spots.

September 2010
As You Were!

August went very well for Swindon. In comparison to last season, Swindon dont seem to be as attacking and confident. Not having David Lucas in goal is seeming to be a factor or maybe the loss of Dorian Dervite. Swindon have took on a few more creative players who not creating as much as the spirited side of last season. But Swindon still looking good in 4th.

League 1
Stockport 1 - 2 Swindon
(McGovern Pen 61, Nieto Pen 85)
Despite Stockport being bottom of League 1 and struggling they still went 1-0 after 25 minutes. It took 2 penalties to overturn the deficit in the 2nd half. Nieto with the winner and his 1st goal for the club. Gilbert picked up a knock and will miss 4 weeks, O'Brien is also out for 10 days.

League 1
Swindon 2 - 0 Colchcester
(Bodin 39, Nieto 66)
Danny Drinkwater will miss the next 2 weeks but that didnt rock Swindon as they strole to a 2-0 victory. Bodin and Nieto with the goals either side of half time.

League 1
Swindon 0 - 2 Southend
(No Scorers)
Swindon dont lose often at home so being 2-0 down after 50 minutes, rocked by the clinical Shrimpers the game looked over. Not before a late last 10 minute pressure from Swindon but it was too late. A loss at the County Ground.

League 1
Oldham 2 - 0 Swindon
(No Scorers)
The uncertainty at the back is causing concern upfront now for Swindon. 2-0 at half time and theyre was just too much to do in the second half. A nightmare back-to-back defeats now for the Robins.

League 1
Walsall 2 - 0 Swindon
(No Scorers)
Swindon slump to another defeat to the hands of Walsall. Same old problems at the back and the strikers not finishing the very few chances they had. Its all gone wrong for Swindon.

October 2010
Problems at The County Ground

The last 3 games of September have really hit Swindon. The first stumbling block yet for Chris Saunt in charge of Swindon. 1 positive for October is that David Lucas is back in goal.

League 1
Swindon 3 - 1 Huddersfield
(Nieto 21, McGovern 47, Sheehan 62)
David Lucas' return is a victorious one but it didnt look that way when Andy Pilkington beat Lucas at his near post on 11 minutes. After that though it was just like the old Swindon. Banging in 3 goals for a return to winning ways.
Transfer In
Freddie Sears from West Ham - 3 month loan

Johnstone Paint Trophy South 2nd Round
Swindon 0 - 2 Charlton
(No Scorers)
Saunt released a statement earlier in the week saying he has no interest in Peterborough and todays opponents Charlton. That seemed to have piled the pressure on Saunt and his players and they fell to defeat once again this season. A poor performance.

League 1
Swindon 1 - 0 Leyton Orient
(Nieto 59)
0-0 at half time and the O's very much on top but Federico Nieto is finding some form bagging his 4th goal of the season. Scot Cuthbert took a knock and he'll miss 4 weeks injured. A crucial loss at the back for Swindon but a win none the less.

League 1
Cardiff 1 - 1 Swindon
(Sears 56)
A first goal for Freddie Sears this season but it wasnt enough as Cardiff leveled after Jean Francois (covering at center back) gave away a penalty which was dispatched. 1-1 the final score.

League 1
Swindon 0 - 2 Charlton
(No Scorers)
Swindon flop. Robin in need of Batman. Call it what you like were booed off after another dreadful home defeat. The fans are getting angry as Saunts men looked like boys today. Swindon down to 11th now.

November 2010
Stand Up And Be Counted

October was an inprovement with only 1 League loss but Swindon are still not were they hoped at this stage. November will need every Swindon player to stand up and be counted if things are to improve.

League 1
Bristol Rovers 2 - 1 Swindon
(Nieto 17)
Gavin Hoye made his debut but it didnt seem to make any impact on Swindon's defending. They did go a goal up through on form Argentine Federico Nieto on 17 minutes but that only last until the second half when Rovers overturned the lead and won the game 2-1.

FA Cup 1st Round
Exeter 2 - 3 Swindon
(Nieto 27 40, Cywka Pen 90+1)
Swindon made a terrible start going 2-0 down after just 12 minutes but pulled level before half time with 2 more Nieto strikes. Tomasz Cywka won the match with a stoppage time penalty. The magic of the FA Cup might just give Swindon something to build on.

League 1
Swindon 4 - 2 Hartlepool
(Cywka 5 32, Nieto 10 28)
Swindon boss Chris Saunt changed to a 4-3-3 this game and boy did it work. The Robins smashed in 4 goals inside 32 minutes with 2 fantastic strikes from Cywka and 2 from Nieto. Hartlepool got a goal back in stoppage time at the end of the first half and again on 47 but couldnt get themselves back into the game.

League 1
Peterborough 1 - 0 Swindon
(No Scorers)
It was 0-0 at half time and i think everyone at London Road knew this would be a 1 goal game. On form Peterborough found the net in what was really the only highlight in the match.

League 1
Swindon 4 - 0 Exeter
(Nieto 1 45 70, Sheehan 42)
A superb hat-trick from Federico Nieto and a trademark free-kick from Sheehan handed Swindon a 4-0 win. Nieto is really showing is worth at the moment. Hoye and O'Brien both picked up injuries and will miss 4 weeks, the only down point for Swindon today.

FA Cup 2nd Round
Carlisle 1 - 2 Swindon
(Cywka 43, Castaignos 72)
The Robins were down again in the FA Cup but another fantastic comeback. Scott Cuthbert got sent off on 35 minutes but that triggerd the fight in Swindon. Tomasz Cywka with another goal adding to his recent account and Luc Castaignos got the winner. Swindon through to round 3 to play Brentford.

League 1
Southampton 0 - 2 Swindon
(Douglas 5, Nieto 8)
Chris Saunt likes playing Southampton has he and Swindon make it 4 wins in 4 games against the Saints. They got off to a great start with 2 goals inside just 8 minutes. The 2010/11 season has really started now for Swindon as they go 7th level on points with Charlton in the play-off spot.

December 2010
The Festive Fixtures of Football

The time has come for when 40 year old football fans dress up as Santa and head down to their local football ground a few bers and some festive football. Much too look foward to now at Swindon apart from the new year with Hull and Scunthorpe sniffing around top scorer Federico Nieto.

League 1
Swindon 4 - 1 Carlisle
(Greer 16, Bodin 36, Austin 59, Cywka 65)
A superb performance from the Robins. 2 goals from corners on 16 and 26 gave Swindon the perfect start. A first goal for Charlie Austin in over 13 hours of football. Scott Cuthbert returned back from suspension as did Douglas but Douglas did not feature. Bodin picked up and injury but it doesnt look too bad and should be fit for next match.

League 1
Swindon 1 - 0 Accrington
(Cywka 2)
A goal on 2 minutes from Cywka proved to be the match winner for Swindon today. Nieto had 2 ruled out for offside before going off and Pericard came on to score ... or so he thought until the assistant ruled out a Swindon goal for a third time.

League 1
Rochdale 0 - 2 Swindon
(Nieto 26 Pen 53)
A Nieto brace wins another 3 points for Swindon as they hit some good form with their sixth win on the spin. Next up is 19th placed Brentford.

League 1
Swindon 0 - 0 Brentford
(No Scorers)
A bore draw probably was what both sides deserved today. Swindon without Greer kept a clean sheet but couldnt find the net at the other end to give them a seventh consequetive win but still unbeaten none the less.

League 1
Swindon 2 - 3 MK Dons
(Drinkwater 18, Nieto 40)
Gordon Greer was back today but couldnt help Swindon keep the unbeaten run going. MK Dons when 2-0 up before Danny D pulled Swindon to within 1 goal. The Dons then went 3-1 up to which Nieto responded to put them back in it at 3-2 but MK Dons saw it out. Cywka will miss a week after coming off injured.

Transfers Rumours and Speculation
Swindon boss Chris Saunt ended December by issuing another statement rejecting any interest in a managerial vacancy, This time Doncaster. He also decided not to extend West Ham youngsters Freddie Sears loan deal as he didnt see it benefitial after 1 goal and 1 assist in 8 games.

Transfer In
Dean Bouzanis from Liverpool - Free
FA Cup 3rd Round
Brentford 0 - 2 Swindon
(Paynter 1, 13)
After needing comeback in Round 1 and 2, Swindon were expecting Brentford to come fly out the blocks but it was Swindon rushing into a goal advantage after just 17 seconds. Over taking Nieto's goal against Exeter in November that was clocked at 23 seconds. Douglas suffered a bad injury which keeps him out for 2 months and Gilbert also picked up 4 weeks on the injury table.

League 1
Swindon 1 - 0 Bournemouth
(Paynter 10)
Not as quick off the mark this match for Billy Paynter but it got Swindon in the lead early on. The injuries are mounting as Gareth Willams went off and will miss 4 weeks.

League 1
Gillingham 2 - 2 Swindon
(Cywka 24, Austin 81)
Swindon fought back from a goal down twice in this match to earn a draw. Gillingham striker Simeon Jackson bagged his 29th and 30th goals of the season, an incredible achieve in January in League 1, hes only played 29 games.

League 1
Crystal Palace 1 - 0 Swindon
(No Scorers)
Palace were down in 16th before the game began so they need to make home advantage count and they did so with a 1-0 victory. Greer, Nieto and Sheehan all went off before half time with knocks but are all expected to be fit for next game.

League 1
Swindon 5 - 0 Torquay
(Austin 2 17 50, Pericard 25, Cuthbert 45)
A 5 star triumph for the Robins. Charlie Austin netted a fantastic hat-trick and even Pericard got on the scoresheet after over 8 hours without a goal.
Transfer In
Shkodran Metaj from FC Groningen - £120k
League 1
Colchester 1 - 0 Swindon
(No Scorers)
22 year old Albanian Shkodran Metaj made his debut, Hoyte extended his loan until the end of the season and Swindon, lost. That was about all they deserved in a dull game with hardly any highlights except the Colchester goal just after the restart in the second half.

FA Cup 4th Round
Swindon 0 - 1 West Brom
(No Scorers)
Swindon set themselves up to defend and they impresed infront of a 14700 sell out at the County Ground. Only a Robert Koren goal got West Brom through. A fantastic effort in the Cup this year for Swindon, something to be proud of.
Transfer In
Javier Martina from Ajax - £35k
League 1
Swindon 1 - 0 Stockport
(Cuthbert 44)
Williams was named fit for todays game but Matej kept his place. Martina made his debut and after his ''Demands to be center of attention'' statement in the local paper it promised to be a good match. Martina nearly put Swindon infront on 4 minutes coming in late on a Bodin cross but he couldnt hit the target. It was Bodin who did set up the opening goal on 44 from a corner kick. Gilbert and Cywka recieved cruel blows that will keep them both out for 4 weeks.

Febuary 2011
Loco Boys Are Settling In
Swindon fans have dubbed Shkodran Metaj and Javier Martina as the Loco boys. Both arrived in January and both seem to be abit crazy. Matej from Albania and Martina from Netherlands Antilles demanded to be center of attention. It seems to have been just the tonic.
League 1
Southend 3 - 1 Swindon
(Nieto 66)
A nightmare performance from Swindon. Goals on 27, 51 and 67 won Southend 3 points. Poor defending cost Swindon dearly. That and clinical finishing.

League 1
Swindon 2 - 1 Walsall
(Metaj 42, Austin 57)
A perfect responce after a dreadful last game. Loco Metaj got the ball rolling before Walsall leveled on 53. Nieto picked up a knock to keep him out for 10 days.

League 1
Leyton Orient 0 - 1 Swindon
(Cuthbert 77)
Cywka and Gilbert returned for the Robins. Kupisz picked up a 4 week injury but Swindon got the back to back win they needed. Scott Cuthbert nodding in a corner.

League 1
Huddersfield 1 - 0 Swindon
(No Scorers)
A goal on 14 minutes was enough for Huddersfield to see off Swindon in a 6 pointer play-off clash. Amankwaah will be out for 10 days with injury. The Robins are up and down at the minute, they need a good run. Time for change?

League 1
Swindon 4 - 2 Oldham
(Austin 34 81, Cywka 46, Castaignos 78)
What a match. 4 stunning goals and 3 vital points. Swindon fans will hope they can build on this for March but theyll be without Douglas for 3 weeks and McGovern for 10 days.

March 2011
The Run In To The Run In!
Febuary was again up and down for the Robins. Play-Off hopes will certainly be more clear after the month is over so this is effectively the run in to the run in.
League 1
Swindon 2 - 1 Cardiff
(Castaignos 45, Gilbert 90)
Cardiff went 1-0 up after 36 minutes. Goals right at the end of both halves secure a dramatic yet crucial 3 points for Swindon. Metaj got sent off after 65 minutes which makes the result even more suprising. 1st 2nd and 3rd all dropped points, Cardiff were 4th, Swindon in 5th and there is now a 4 point gap between Swindon and 7th.

League 1
Charlton 0 - 2 Swindon
(Nieto 64, 77)
Another crucial win for Swindon on Saunt's landmark 100 games in charge. Kupisz returned on the right and injuries are thinning. Swindon can make a real push with another couple of wins in this run. Can they do it?

League 1
Swindon 2 - 1 Bristol Rovers
(Nieto 35, Cuthbert 58)
4th placed Rovers will be devastated losing this game after taking the lead after 11 minutes. Nieto and Cuthbert with the comeback goals. Swindon look strong now in League 1.

League 1
Hartlepool 5 - 2 Swindon
(Austin 19 28)
Pre-match the noise was all about Jono Douglas' return and Federico's new deal as well as the statement from Saunt about the vacant QPR job. In the match Swindon went 1-0 down after 13 before going 1-1 and then 2-1 up through Charlie Austin. All that changed in the second half as Hartlepool equalised, took the lead and banged in 2 more just for good measure. Jason Brown ran the show for Pool. Greer is now suspended for 3 games after 10 yellows.

April 2011
It Ends Here!

If any club wants to hit form then April would be a fantastic time to do it. Many clubs have survived relegation with form in April/May and many clubs have sealed promotion or the play-offs. Swindon sealed their play-off spot last season in April/May so they know what to do and they wont to leave it until the last day.

League 1
Swindon 1 - 2 Peterborough
(Nieto 45)
Not the result Swindon had in mind against a side on poor form despite being 2nd. Barely 1 win in the last 6 games but they got it done today. Swindon were 2 down by 41 minutes. In that time Douglas missed a penalty but just before the break Swindon looked to be back in it when Nieto scored. Swindon pushed for the equaliser in the second half by it didnt come.

League 1
Carlisle 1 - 3 Swindon
(Austin 4 11 76)
When Charlie Austin finishes like this its a joy to be hold for Swindon fans. A first win of April needs to be backed up now to seal play-off expectation.

Exeter 2 - 0 Swindon

(No Scorers)
Swindon seem to be stumbling towards the final post but today they were unlucky as nothing went right for the Robins. Swindon dominated but Nieto nor Austin could score or even hit the target. 19 shots and only 1 on target.

League 1
Swindon 2 - 0 Southampton
(Nieto Pen 19, Castaignos 80)
Chris Saunt just loves playing Southampton. 5 wins out of 5 now. The Saints have sealed theyre play-off place and on this evidence Swindon do as well very shortly.

League 1
Accrington 0 - 3 Swindon
(Austin 9, Cywka 36, Nieto 64)
Another win and another clean sheet. Tomasz Cywka smashed his 10th goal of the season into the back of the net from almost 25 yards. Tomasz Kupisz wasnt so lucky as he went of injured and will miss 6 days.

League 1
Swindon 4 - 0 Rochdale
(Nieto 12 84, Cywka 39, Austin 48)
SWINDON SEAL PLAY-OFF PLACE FOR THE SECOND SEASON IN A ROW. A marvelous 4-0 home thumping over Rochdale. As the story goes its fitting for Nieto, Cywka and Austin to get the goals to seal the play-offs. Just 1 more match before the season comes to an end and the play-offs begin.

If you have Scotland loaded try going for Andy Little from Rangers. Works well as a deep lying forward / poacher. Stats are brilliant but he scores for fun in League 1 and scores plenty in The Championship !
