I understand a key to success beeing set pieces and throw ins. Im playing FMC on iPad so I've set the instructions manually - but I am not doing so.

I've put cb1 attack far post, cb2 stand on far post and bwm attack from deep.rest default. Throw ins left unticked. Have 2 backs with ppm long throw and they Are both corner takers.

- have i left something out?

most of my corners are hit first post and clearn away by opponent. Same goes for throws. Clearn at first post mostly. I score a few from corners but mostly from rebounds of clearences where i am able to win the second ball.

any help would be highly apreciated

till now, for me the best tactic with that description

Evening.

I thought I'd share a few things with you all to see if it helps anyone.

I played a few games with this in a test save I keep. I've got a couple of long term saves so I wanted to start a new career journeyman save (something I've never really done before) so thought i'd pick this tactic up.

Anyway, I got a bit frustrated with the back and forth scoring nature so tried a few things out and have been much more solid since, there's only 1 change to the tactic, which is changing the BWM(s) to a BWM(d).

What I have been doing is making mentality changes in game, and it's tightened my defence up no end, I generally follow the below:

1. Always go to Contain when ahead with 10 mins left
2. Always go to attack if behind
3. Home: Start attack, if I go 1-0 up, change to Control.
4. Home: If 0-0 at half time and the opposition looks like they are winning the possession battle, change to Control
5. Away: Start Standard, if I go 1-0 up, change to Control to try get the second, if 2-0 up back to Standard

Just a few pointers. I started my career save following this and am P12 W11 D1 L0 GF48 GA15

Worth noting I do not use the correct corner or throw in set ups, and 5 of those 15 goals against were in the first 3 games where I was tweaking the above. The draw was away from home in the EL qualifier against a far superior team.

I'll see how it holds up but it's just fantastic work from v0lliz & JS

I have just used this tactic a short while, and although it looks good, can't the set pieces be placed in ANY tactic and work almost the same?

Say If I chose to copy the set pieces to another formation I have made, will I not score the same amount of set piece goals?

Testing the tweaks using a custom database of 16 identical teams with the other teams managed by the best rated AI managers, I have given all full-backs long throw ratings of 20 and added the long flat throw-in trait to them all.

Worth mentioning my throw-in taker doesn't quite possess bullet throws but has the attribute (15) to finish learning it even though my technical coach doesn't think he's capable. I also have just the one full-back taking throw-ins on both sides, I hope this doesn't dent the bullet throw's maximum effectiveness. I only started using this tactic for the last six or seven games (18 scored/six conceded in five games so far, one clean sheet, conceded on the hour mark in three games and conceded three at home to a Newcastle side who pushed me too close) or so to try and climb from 9th place as my other tactic was massively inconsistent. Excited to use this for a full season.
