“We controlled the game from start to finish and once again we showed a lethal touch to our finishing, we contained the ball really well and made them chase a lot. We took our chances when they came, can’t ask for more.”

“Really pleased, there was a great atmosphere to the game and credit to Rangers, they came out and attacked us which made it an open game and they’re certainly not out of it thanks to that late goal, we can’t be complacent because 2 goals could do it for them and they proved today the can score that against us.”

We Love Being The Underdogs!

The biggest in game in Spain this week is no doubt the tie at the Bernabeu, its 2nd vs 3rd today and bookies favour Madrid due to them being on home soil and having a “stronger” team. But many feel Valencia could indeed get something from this game including Valencia manager Dean Neeson who believes his team thrive off being underdogs.
“We love it. It takes the pressure off and we can play the way we want to, we’ll be going to approach this game in a different way and this might surprise some people, but I feel we have a chance of walking away with a win today.”

Key Man Watch

Cristiano Ronaldo
The world’s most expensive player ever has notched up 14 goals and 17 assists this season and is always a danger; he is considered by some to be the very best in the world and is sure to cause Valencia problems.

David Villa
The Spanish hitman has been even better than his ever prolific self, he is running away with the La Liga goalscoring charts and has by far and away scored the most goals any player has scored in spain. Madrid need to be wary of the clinical striker.

Valencia CF 2 (Mata 6, Buonanotte 90 + 1) Barcelona 2
We did really well in the first half and were delighted being 1-0 up but we were very poor in the second half and never really got going and this allowed them to come back in and then take the lead. I’m pleased with the intensity of our play which we showed in the last 15 minutes, our tempo caused them a lot of problems and Diego (Buonanotte) managed to ****** us a draw. We are becoming the late show specialists.”

David Villa Vs Cris
If Lyon have any chance of winning tonight the face a very daunting task and that comes in the shape of David Villa. In 59 appearances Villa has notched an incredible 69 goals and not only that he also has 17 assists to his name. Lyon captain Cris needs to be very aware tonight, very aware.

David Silva Vs Mathieu Bodmer
Bodmer has proved to be a key part Lyon’s side, his versatility is also a very useful and much praised bonus, Bodmer has the ability to cause Lyon problems with his tenacity alone. David Silva is also a very dangerous man; the Spanish international has the ability to pull the strings in the midfield and has proved this in his 8 goals and 25 assists.

Valencia CF win the Europa League after their dramatic 4-3 victory over Lyon. It was an extremely exciting tie and had a lot of chances, Lyon came at us alot and always poses a threat. But every time they had a question we had an answer and I am pleased with the way we went about ourselves, and we showed great strength of character so I’m delighted.

End Of Season Round up
We have had a great season, more ups then downs and we finished with a fantastic point total of 84 points which we are all very proud of. We were fantastic in the league this year and I think next year’ we’ll have an even better chance!
Winning the Europa League was a very nice bonus and we had some really exciting ties in the competition, it will give us the needed experience for the Champions League next year.
David Villa also finished the year with the most outrageous goal tall of 69, along with 17 assists, Villa has had the best season of his life without a doubt, he trumped every goal scorer in Europe this year.

David Silva, Ever Banega, and Juan Manuel Mata also had very good seasons with new signings Nikolas Otamendi and John Fleck showing many signs of promise.

david villa 69 goals is amazing never seen that before evr

great story aswell so much time and effort put into it well done bud

villa is sick on fm 10... 14 goals in 8 matches in liga BBVA, played both Real Madrid and Barcelona at Santiago Bernabeu and Nou Camp^^. hat-trick vs madrid and 2 vs Barca

awesome mate barce were just too good for me the got 95 points went on a 36 match unbeaten run

I played villa as a poacher in a 451 formation

I play 4-2-3-1 with villa as poacher, silva as amc, mata aml and joaquin (spelling) as amr
will get beckham for free and zapata, maybe moutinho also... got a lot for pablo hernandez^^

Great Season, only just really hitched on, you couldn't stop winning towards the end, you did brilliantly to break Spanish top two in first season

Really great story. You put a lot of effort into this, and you did great to finish 2nd and win the Europa League. How you managed to get Villa to score 69 goals is beyond me, and if he does it next season then surely you'd win the league. Good luck for the next season, and I'll definitely follow this from now on.
Any areas of your squad you're going to try and add to over the summer?
