He has started well and hope it continues. A few Spurs fans have said how Modric is quality but at the moment Van der Vaart chips in with more goals than Modric. Cant wait for Defoe to get back as we will be lightning quick getting forward with Bale and Lennon on the flanks and Van der Vaart sitting in behind Defoe.

He didnt move as his wife was receiving treatment. So he delayed for 1 year. And rest i disagree. You play the player based on merit not based on for how much you bought him.

You play an expensive player at least to justify the price you paid for him. You also need to placate fans who want to see their star signing play. Football is political, as well.

Regardless of money, VDV is world class. Anyone with that amount of caps for a playmaker-filled nation such as Holland is likely to be good. Also, let's not kid ourselves here, he's not as good as Kaka and was never going to start in front of him, but they can both be called "world class".

Madrid have let alot of players go that, at another club, do brilliant. Robben to Munich, class player bar injurys. Sneider to Inter - one of the players of the year last year. Now VDV having a good start at Spurs.

On a smaller scale recently theres Drenthe who seems to be doing well at Hercules (loan)
