Season 2098/99 - Aston Villa - Part One
With CL football secured we were given a good budget which was invested in two wingers and a worldy DM so personal expectations were high - a title challenge and a good run in the Champions League (maybe too soon to be winning it as I need to strengthen the defence).
Halfway through and we are on course to achievement both personal targets...

A league and cup double but the ultimate aim now is the Champions League and we were hammered by Chelsea in the semi finals. Further investment in the summer and our younger players will be a year older and better to perhaps make the next step and reach the final.

His career at Golden Arrows started well but he has been out injured with a damaged spine for some time now and his attributes have plummeted. At 29 now it seems the end is near. Hopefully he can become a manager when he does retire!

Any hattrick from a centre back is always welcome but to do it the Champions League final was something special as we utterly destroyed Porto to give Villa a first Champions League win since 1982 and gives me the third title in the CL Challenge.
