I resigned after the first leg defeat.

We are dominating domestically but can seemingly only get so far in Europe. We only have a 5000 capacity stadium and the board refuse to improve the training facilities.

Improving the standard of Irish players is the main reason I came to Drogheda and despite over 12,000,000 in the bank the board won't invest so I've tendered my resignation and see where my journey goes now...

Completing the Champions League Challenge


The Champions League Challenge is one I have tried on and off for FM13 and now FM14 so I am determined to complete it now.

I've already won it with Barcelona and Man Utd so still plenty of teams to complete it with and this should take me well in the 2100s.

Villa won the Champions League back in 1982 but in my game they have been stuck in the lower half of the Premier League ever since and even spent a season in the Championship a few times. And yet again as I take over in March 2096 they are deep in a relegation battle, sitting 17th and only 2 points off relegation.

Season 2096 - Aston Villa

When I took over Villa were just above the relegation and deep in a fight for survival. After the first few games it didn't look promising but the team rallied and we went on a great run to ease away from the trap door.

With over 40m to spend in the summer I feel with the right additions we can be challenging in the top half of the table next season, with a good cup run perhaps.

Season 2096/97 - Aston Villa - Part One

After investing almost 40m in the squad I expected to be fighting for a place in Europe come the end of the season and so far I've not been disappointed as we lie 6th and 4 points off 3rd place.

I also predicted a good cup and the players have not disappointed there either as we claimed the Capital One Cup with a convincing victory over Liverpool in the Final, beating my old club Altrincham and local rival Birmingham along the way, so we are definitely in Europe next season at least.

After fighting relegation for most of last season under their old manager I'm sure Villa fans would have settled for a boring mid-table finish but I'm not about boring!

A DOMESTIC CUP DOUBLE!!​

On top of the Capital One Cup that we won earlier we utterly battered Man Utd in the FA Cup final.

Whilst going so close to a top 4 finish and the disappointment of not getting there is massive, we still far exceeded expectations this season and W4NKER adds another two trophies to his collection (177 now) and another manager of the year (43rd).

Time to invest more in the squad and try to seal that all important CL spot so we can concentrate on winning it and moving on to our next club.

Sadly my son, WEE W4NKER hasn't had the career his early potential suggested. In fact the only success period of it so far is when I managed to get him on loan at Drogheda for a season and a half.

He was released by QPR and no clubs were interested in signing him and a 6k a week I thought why not.

He can play in the Europa League and Cup games as I want to rest the big boys for a strong push at a top 4 finish.

Season 2097/98 - Aston Villa

Despite winning the cup double last season I was still disappointed to miss out on a top 4 spot as I seek to make another step towards completing the Champions League Challenge.

However this season we made that extra step and secured a 3rd place finish to book a place in the CL group stages.

The least defeats and 3rd best defence in the league so any transfer budget will be spent on improving the attacking players at the club as we try to turn some of them draws into wins.
