INJURY CRISIS AND INEVITABLE SLUMP!

An end of season collapse saw us slip into mid-table, a slump brought on by a terrible run of injuries that saw me left without a single midfielder for most of the end of season fixtures.

I had strikers playing on the wings and full backs playing centre midfield. Only one fit centre back as well so had 3 fullbacks in defence as well. :'(

Team looked something like this:

This is a great read and has inspired me to do something very similar. Ive started my career as Jomo Cosmos and I am aiming to win every league playable and win the champions league with a team from each league

A great fan of this series my friend!!!! Keep it going!!! Just wanted to know what you do about backroom staff? Do you keep the staff that are already there or do you bring in your own? Do you take your staff from one team to the next?

Cheers mate, look forward to the next update!!

When starting an FMC game and selecting leagues go to the Advanced Set Up option

So I can't change it now im in a game :( The advanced option wasn't clickable for me really weird. Whats your steam btw my laptop had to be rebooted AGAIN

Steam ID is just W4NKER i think.

You may need to tick the other option where is warns of disabling the PS Vita cross save thing. Can't remember what its called but I'll post a screen of it soon

With a few loan signings and some frees I added to the squad in the 2029/30 and we avoided the injury crisis that derailed our push for promotion the season before.

Now in the Spanish second division we were given a decent wage budget and I added quality to the squad especially a kid called Nicolas Canelada, on loan from Inter Milan, who bagged an unbelievable 68 goals (I think 55 of them in the league)! - I'll try to get a screenshot soon.

Consequently we eased to promotion to the top flight. However, stadium improvements and other costs meant the budget was poor so rather than waste a season fighting off relegation I resigned in search of a new challenge.

Loving this! Wanted to do this too! Which leagues and nations have you loaded? And did you start with Sunday League reputation?

Thanks

I can only admire how well your stories are, and the challenges you complete.

which tactic have you been using recently for the latter part of the story now?

Yea Sunday League.

I started with just South Africa loaded but now I have all of England and Scotland loaded. I just add and remove leagues whenever suit though on FMC at least you need to add the league at least a season before you plan to manage there to allow a few more players to exist and more realistic finances

Here's a screenshot of that kid that won me the Spanish Hero achievement on his own effectively..

Using the 4141 v2 from my tactic thread.

Fast wingers with good crossing and dribbling getting to the byline crossing them in for Canelada to bang in. Nice

Have went off in a different career path. The budget at Altrincham was laughable I could only get a squad of about 14 players with the rest being terrible 0.5* youth team players, and got some long term injuries early on.

So I reloaded an older autosave of the game and slipped off to Australia for a giggle. Will post a quick update soon as I have been in Australia for 4 seasons now and plotting a return to Europe soon.

Put another shrimp on the barby!!

Off to Oceania and Australia where I managed on FM13 and really enjoyed the simplicity and speed of it. However, the finances never seemed right on FM13. You started off with ?10m or so but always made a loss every year and eventually, after a few seasons, you were in debt with a tiny wage budget.

So I hoped this would be different on FM14.... Sadly, it isn't.

At Melbourne Hearts I took over with ?15m in the bank. I spent some money but always kept well within my wage budget. But after almost 4 seasons the bank balance reads -?250,000 and growing and the wage budget has diminished from ?200,000 a week to ?58,000 a week. I can't even offer contracts to my youth team players because it would take me over budget so every season means starting with almost a entire new squad.

So I'll finish the 2034/35 season (or more specifically the 2035 Asian Champions League) and head back to Europe.

A disappointing CL campaign after reaching the final the year before. With the deteriorating finances our budget has been cut and we can't hold on to any good foreign players meaning the team is mostly now just Australians who are of lesser quality.

I was planning on returning to Europe after this season but the poor CL showing has made me want to give it one more go before leaving for Europe so I may do another year in Australia before seeking a fresh challenge.

We won the A-League but lost in the Final Series on penalties.
I'm not too concerned as this is the final year at the Hearts as I'll return to Europe once the Champions League campaign is over.

A great win for the club. A first ever Champions League win for them and the perfect leaving present as I head back to Europe.

W4NKER BACK IN EUROPE WITH NORWICH

Having applied for a few bigger jobs and being overlooked maybe I need to get my foot back in the door in Europe before the bigger clubs accept me back so Norwich offer a decent challenge as they are pretty much safe in the Premier League with 7 games to go.
