Yes it is.
This sentence doesn't make any sense so I will interpret to the best of my ability. No contact was initiated by Almunia. Rooney fell down on his own intuition not by contact. This is besides the fact that the ball was kicked into the stands and was only a yard or two from being out of bounds when Rooney fell down.
The rule clearly states that the ball must be playable, or in simpler terms a shot taking chance. There was
ZERO chance of a shot being played once he kicked the ball into the stands.
Notice in this picture Almunia's hands/arms are not even in front of Rooney before he starts to Dive.
Notice in this picture now that Almunia's hands/arms are in front but still no contact has been made, Rooneys LEFT knee, right in the picture, is only a few inches from touching the ground... Dragging his leg inducing contact. If Rooney doesn't slow up by dragging his feet no contact is made, no foul is called, and the ball goes out of bounds and we don't have the Diaby disaster.
That was the first time ever anyone had been given a three match ban for a dive and it was a ridiculous ban. Plus he never served a ban as the decision was reversed.

So, why exactly should he get a three match ban?
There was clear contact between almunia and rooney. And Almunia got none of the ball. Therefore it was a foul.
"
A penalty kick is awarded against a team that commits one of the ten offences
for which a direct free kick is awarded, inside its own penalty area and while
the ball is in play.
A goal may be scored directly from a penalty kick."-A direct qoute from fifa's document on the laws of the games.
The only mention of the position of the ball is where it says the ball must be in play, which refers to as you are are obviously confused whether the ball is in the field of play or not NOT whether it was a goalscoring a chance or he could catch up to the ball.
The only thing rooney is guilty of is playing for a penalty.:S Not the most admirable thing to do but it does not diminish his footballing ability.
Oh Eduardo Dived... I'm not these people who are going into frame by frame bit to look for a cleat touching his calf muscle....

... English dictionary is nice.
The ball was unplayable. It was unobtainable. Notice the ball.... It is almost in the stands by the time his face hits the ground. The rule clearly states he must have a PLAY on the Goal in which how can he have a play on the goal when the ball is just a yard from being OB and going 40mph? Not a foul at all.......
Why is it only the manure fans can't admit their players faults but are first to call out others. Quite hilarious if you ask me. Rooney flopped... Not only did I give you video of Flipper falling before contact was made, I also gave 2 pictures showing his leg going down. The vid also showed he had no play on the ball since HE, Flipper, kicked it out of bounds.
Just because someone knocks in a couple of headers in lately doesn't mean you should pump in his status up to 20 on Heading and Jumping... Quite hilarious you Manure fans are even considering it.
English dictionary is nice? Are you ******* kidding me.:S
The rules does not clearly state that as i have already shown you by qouting the rule. You are confusing the meaning of the ball in play. It has nothing to do with whether rooney could have scored and everything to do with the fact the ball was still in bounds therefore it was a penalty.
Almunia made contact with rooney. Almunia made no contact with the ball. The ball was in play. These are all facts, and it was a penalty. End of story.
No one said he should have anything raised up to 20. People just said he should have some stats upgraded considering he is having by far the best season of his life and has showed what he is capable of.
Manure? Really? Are you ******* five or something?
To summarise, you really don't have a clue.:S
P.s Just to prove my point here is what fifa has to say about when the ball is in play:
Ball Out of Play
The ball is out of play when:
• it has wholly crossed the goal line or touch line whether on the ground or
in the air
• play has been stopped by the referee
Ball In Play
The ball is in play at all other times, including when:
• it rebounds off a goalpost, crossbar or corner
flagpost and remains in the field of play
• it rebounds off either the referee or an assistant referee when they are on
the
See. The bit in bold is pretty crucial. The ball is in play at all times as long as it is on the field of play and the referee hasn't stopped play. So even though rooney couldn't reach the ball it was still in play.......So, shove your english dictionary up your ****.(K)
