hi all..
i read through all the posts in front and also on inickstuff's awesome guide on modern series.
just wanted to get some input in terms of formation for my attackers / midfielders. (ignoring the defence as im playing a flat 4)

im currently man utd in my 3rd season. my strikers/midfielders are as follows:

Rooney, Hulk, Giuseppe Rossi, Pastore, Hamsik, Danny, Fletcher and Rodwell.

CMR and CML : Fletcher n Rodwell (both as ball winning midfielders)
AML: Rooney
AMC: Pastore
AMR: Danny
Forwards: Hulk and Rossi

I've also got hamsik as a sub.. any suggestions on how to get the best out of these players?
(my formation is a flat 4-2-3-1)

Hi,
I'm Coventry City and I'm planning to gain promotion to the Premier League this season (first season). Here is my team:
GK: Kieren Westwood
RB: Steve Finnan
CB: James McPake
CB: Jordan Spence (from West Ham)/Matthew Booth (from Sundowns)
LB: Martin Cranie/José Goncalves
DM: Lee Carsley
CM: Tom Cairney
CM: Aron Gunnarson
RW: David Bell
LW: Michael McIndoe
ST: Lukas Jutkiewicz/Marlon King/Freddie Eastwood
I need a tactic which is very good defensively as I have been leaking many goals - I lost 3-0 at home to Swansea :(.

Please suggest me a tactic for west brom? Transfer window is already closed and i got no players in. Patch 11.3. first season with west brom..

Have tried many "popular" tactics on here and they are all **** including the goals galore one(ye the one with 70k downloads). Played against west ham with that tactic and was thrashed 4-0 with my team having 1 shot on target.

Anyone enlighten me on the best formation/players roles for my current players? I have no money for improvment, recently bought Ismail (excellent in the latter of last season; 7 games - 4 goals - 3 assists) but he was playing AML instead of ML last season as I have been promoted to the Premiership so I moved him back for a bit more cover. Ashley cole is a bit **** if I'm honest but I'm not sure if that was just because he was playing at a lower level than usual, he has stepped it up in the first few games of the new season. Lost my first 3 games, 1 - 2, 1 - 2, 2 - 4.. Was leading in all three of them (2 - 0 against Everton) but lost the lead soon after in all of them. Looking for a defensive formation but with a quick attack. Algorta is fast and was 3rd top scorer in the Championship last season but I beleive he can step up his game. I've been choosing Michel over Julio Baptista purely because he is younger but will experience in the central midfield role be better than Stamina now we're playing at a higher level? Anyway, hope someone can help, I set my goal at staying up, as apposed to fight to stay up, I have been at Wigan for 3 years now and I want to push for a top 10 finish.

(I've posted this in a few places but this seems to be the right topic :$)

Hi there everyone,

I'm managing Liverpool and i'm in the the season of 2014/2015. I can't really get a good tactic, I don't know which of my players I have to use. This is my team:

Keepers:

José Manuel Reina
Jason Steele
Callum Davis

Defenders:

Glen Johnson (RB)
Ignacio Monreal (LB)
Emiliano Insua (LB)
Danny Wilson (CB)
Daniel Agger (CB)
Martin Skrtel (CB)
Daniel Schwaab (RB)

Midfielders:

Raul Meireles (CM)
Lucas (CM)
Kamohelo Mokotjo (CM)
Thomas Enevoldsen (AML)
Christian Eriksen (AMC)
Rafael van der Vaart (AMC)
Steven Gerrard (AMC)
David Silva (AMC)
Jonjo Shelvey (AMC)

Strikers:

Salomon Kalou
Fernando Torres
Steven Fletcher

What formation would suit my team? And which players should I use?

Anyone have any tips on Genoa 11.3?

Been thinking of 3-5-2 or 3-6-1 but struggling to create a good tactic this way.

iNickStuff thanks for advice. i looking for central midfilder my transfer founds are 6m funts. any advice
Moussa Sissoko over 48 months, you should have enough. Or:
Kevin (Advanced Playmaker)
Anthony Annan/Nikolas N'Koulou (Ball Winning Midfielder)

My pre-season was great , but after the start of the season everything went downhill and I don't know what is wrong.

Team:Manchester United
Season: 10/11
Squad: Imageshack - fmteam.png
Formation : 4-4-2 and Imageshack - teaminstruction.png

Player Instruction: Berbatov/Necid : Target man/Support
Rooney/Javier/Owen : Advanced forward/Attack
Wingers: Wide Midfilders/Attack
Carrick/Hargreaves/Anderson : Deep Lying Playmaker/Defend
Gibson/Scholes/Fletcher/Anderson : Central Midfilder / Auto
Side defenders: Full back/Auto
Ferdinand and some others:Centr. Def. / cover
Vidic and some other: Centr. Def. / Stopper

I personally think there something wrong with defence but I'm new and don't know what
GK: Van Der Sar
CB: Rio Ferdinand (Cover)
CB: Nemanja Vidic (Stopper)
RB: Rafael (Attack)
LB: Evra (Attack)
CM: Fletcher (Ball-Winning Midfielder Support)
CM: Scholes/Carrick (Advanced Playmaker Support)
LW: Nani (Winger Attack)
RW: Valencia (Winger Attack)
CF: Rooney (Advanced Forward Attack)
CF: Berbatov (Deep Lying Forward Support)

View attachment 163711 Hi all...this is my team, and theyre pretty ****...i wanted to make a tactic thatd best suit them...given that i have no true central midfielders, i came up with this...would it or could it work with such a big hole in the centre of the park?...nobody half useful wants to sign for me, so im going with what i have...at the moment, the player instructions are all on default...team settings are: rigid, standard, shorter, more expressive, press more, default tackling, man marking, drill crosses, more roaming...any advice, tips etc would be great...cheers

Not everyone has the preference of playing lower league football and challenging themselves that much. Big clubs given them a safety blanket that most of the things required to achieve success are there, such as money, good players and a reputation that can compete on domestic and continental level - such as the teams you described in Juventus and Liverpool.

Hello,
Playing as liverpool and just started my 2nd season. Finished the first season in 3rd after rocky start. Won the FA Cup and had a good European run in the Uefa till man city knocked me out.
The end of the rocky patch coincided with discovering eds little and large variant tactic. This as a god send. Although as the season wore on it became evident the AI was getting wise to it and away games were tricky slim victories at best. So after searching the forums I settled on a tweaked 424 il devasto (zizous version). This set my preason on fire, winning away at Bayern and then destroying man utd in the charity shield. Then as soon as the prem started it all fell apart.
My team is shaped toward more of a 442 with wingers and the target man/poacher combo. Any ideas?

So, Stockport is a League 2 side, playing under a 4-4-2 diamond formation. You have got to take into consideration, who your facing and where. Take note of the pitch, if it's narrow or wide. Many times people ignore the odds of games and the scouting reports. Uusually when you get a scouting report, take not of the pitch, if it's narrow or wider. They might say that the team plays better wider or narrower. So counter it. Now, ive taken a look at your squad on the game, and the stats so i can help you out.

First of all try using this formation
-- 4-1-3-2 --
spread the 3 midfielders out, so you have only one central mid, two wide midfielders.. of course you have a defensive midfielder. I would use this to test out your capabilities. If you were going to just jump in and test a formation out. Try playing a standard 4-4-2. Put in your fastest central midfielder.. probably Tansey. Well, whichever is quickest. Set his role/duty to a supportive box to box midfielder. Before you test this out, try and get your right sided midfielder and your right central midfielder good chemistry together. Either make one tutor the other or just get them both to play together and train in the same schedule. If they have good chemistry, play the right centre mid as a advanced playmaker in the attack role. Make the right sided midfielder a attacking winger. These two should work well together if they have a good chem built up. If your playing away from home, and you realise how strong your opponent is, don't get scared and put your strategy on defend, unless it's man united or something. But i mean from your league. So, if it's the best team, don't go in defence mode. Play on the counter.. if at home, i suggest playing on standard and seeing how the game plays out, then altering.

If you want to know more on tactics and all that, check out my Tactics series on this board..

Try this. BUT, before you try it, get your right midfielder and your right centre mid to have a good chemistry built up, a good partnership. Get them to know each other.

Formation: 4-4-2 Standard
Philosophy: Rigid (if away) Fluid (if home)
Starting Strategy: Standard... change once you realise who's taking control of the game.
Passing Style: Short
Creative Freedom: Disciplined
Closing Down: Press More
Marking: Zonal
Tackling: Default
Crossing: Drill
Roaming: Default

With the advanced tactics. Try this;

I would set my player duties/roles to this.

GK - Sweeper Keeper/Support
LB and RB - Wing Back/Support
LCB - Ball Playing Defender/Defend
RCB - Ball Playing Defender/Cover
LM - Winger/Support
RM - Winger/Attack
RCM - Advanced Playermaker/Attack
LCM - Box to Box Midfielder/Support
LF - Poacher/Attack
RF - Complete Forward/Attack

Give this us a go.. tell me what happens.
