Just started with Newcastle, so no changed but I'm wondering what is the best tactic to use for them.

Hi, I have gotten last season into Liege all fine and dandy, but I feel that although we finished 6th and now we are 3rd, we somehow manage to underperform (close matches against weaker opponents, difference being made by finishing) and the most recent being a 3-0 loss at Real Sociedad where we had just 1 shot at goal

cheers for ya help nick tried the stuff u posted and wasnt rash either tested it over 6 games and while we were more competitive we werent managing any wins just more draws and still loses'

More competitive ? How do you know it? And I want to know, how you definite more competitive .

well i define it by a more even split of possesion we werent losing the possesion battle as bad as we where last time. aslo i dont know if this is proven but on the highlights it werent all just one way traffic we were creating chances aswel. But like i said in my previous post rather than winning we were more competitive just stil losing drawing. i think the biggest problem is goal scoting creating chances the goals we have conceeded are low compared to teams who are in similar positions but goals scored is far to low.

As you have a marvelous team and also are a top notch club, I would suggest a Wide 424, suing MC-MC-AMR-AML in midfield. I would go for a Ridig style, using one attacker dropping deep and one playing on the shoulder of the defence. As for the wingers, I would use an inside forward on the flank where the advanced forward or poacher plays and a player providing width and staying in position on the flank where the deep coming FC is . As for strategy, Its up to you but I would go for Control to start with and take it from there. Th more defensive you go, the more I would play a higher pressing game and the more attacking, the more I would stand off so that the press is almost always the same :D

could you put it in a list like i had previously done but this time with player roles aswell, would be much appreciated

My computer broke down and I lost absolutely everything with that but it should be repaired in few days so I haven't been able to try this **** out what I've been wondering (and sorry if this is offtopic I didn't want to start a thread about this and couldn't find better thread to ask this). This is more what tactic suits against what formation. When should I use 3 CB tactic when 2cb 2fb and when 3cb 2fb tactic ? What are the formations which I should play against with 3 , 4 and 5 defenders ? I understand that it's obvious that casual 2st 2wing is best to stop with 4def or if they have some wonderfull skill there so maybe 5def or 4def and dmc.. mostly i wonder that 3cb tactic ... Please help me with this guys so I won't be starting 10 new games in a week when I get my computer back to try this **** out :$

Blyth Help

Hey guys,

I'm new to Fm-Base and I'm new to the game as well. FM11 is the only manager game I've ever played. I have however read a lot of the advice on these forums. I don't like to use downloaded tactics as I feel it ruins the game.

I have, as my main game, chosen to manage Blyth Spartans and I'm in my second season. I have secured promotion in my first season, I think mainly due to my signings. Now I'm in the BSP I'm trying to play a defensive counter attacking style, but I can't stop leaking goals and find it very difficult to score from open play.

Team Instructions:

Philosophy: Rigid
Starting Strategy: Counter
Passing: Default
Creative Freedom: More Diciplined
Closing Down: Stand off more
Tackling: Default
Marking: Default
Crossing: Default
Roaming: Stick to position

I play with a deep defensive line and narrow width. I have my two centre backs one set as a limited defender with defend and the other a ball playing defender with defend, both with passing set to short. I have one of my centre mids as a ball winning midfielder and the other as a deep lying playmaker, full backs have tight marking set to yes and up front I have a poacher and deep lying forward on support. Left mid is set to winger with attack and left mid is set to wide midfielder with defend. Forgot to mention I play with a flat 4-4-2, but have also tried to play with a 4-5-1.

I am currently more or less half way through the season and I'm 13th. I feel like my players are more than capable in the league, but I'm just not getting the results.

Any help and advise is very welcome and apologies if I have posted in the wrong bit.

Indeed it is, but sitting too deep and standing of too much might invite too much pressure. One thing that one has to remember is that the closing down system of each and every strategy is different. In the strategy Attack, the default closing down system mans that you are putting the opposition under pressure high up in the pitch. When using Counter as a strategy, you are by default already sitting deep and standing off.

When I play the game, I basically use the following closing down system as a starting point and tweak it depending on what I see in scout reports and in the match presentation.

Overload - Stand Off More
Attack - Default/ Stand off more
Control - Default
Standard - Default/Press high
Counter - Default/Press high
Defensive - Press high/ Default

So in short, my advice would still be to start with making tweak to the closing down system, using default and then take it from there.

i want to start a game with inter milan but i dont know what tactic to use :/ any help ?

Would you like to be spoon fed with a tacticfile or do you want hints on how to develop a tactic for your specific players ?

Thanks for the advice, I will try it out and let you know the results. Other than leaking goals though, my counter attacks always seem to break down in midfield and the team are struggling to find the back of the net from open play. Any ideas what I could do to help this out? Probably worth noting that moral in the camp is quite low.

spoon fed please because i got the game about 2 weeks ago and still unsure on couple of things but ill be able to develop a tactic once i get to know my players but just for starting off i need a tactic desperatley

I need your advice/tips/help on how to get Leeds United to perform well and churn up consecuative results? Any formations/tactics which would help me? Much appreciated!

I'm playing as Man City and I'm struggling with my squad. My team just isnt scoring enough. They may get 5 goals one game but they wont score in their next 3. My strikers finishing is awful and when I do get a chance they hit it right at the keeper. Can someone give me an idea of how to play with them. I bought Hazard and Criscito only.
