I am currently listening to the new Propagandhi album, which will by the way be the album of the year in terms of rock music, so you rock fans get a bit of this quality! Metallica? Please. Not a shade on these guys.

You just combined 3 of the most overrated artists ever. And The Beatles weren't "pop" at the time - they were the creators of pop music as it is today, back then it was far from pop.

Nothing interesting about Jackson. The Beatles - you've got to give them credit for doing something different, but it's hardly entertaining stuff. And Britney Spears?! Britney belongs on the street where we can see how she gets on without anyone to write her music, or an auto-tuner to keep her in pitch. She wouldn't look out of place on a barbie advert however (probably the reason her dumb ******* music sells).

That is the most retarded thinhg youve ever said. The Beatles created pop but they werent pop. Fine what was pop music back in the early to mid 60s then? Seeing as you dont define Beatlemania as pop with millions of teenage girls going mental and all of the Beatles songs topping the charts.

Auto tuners etc are just the nature of pop, Britney has the ability to put out good singles and had the ability to market hereself perfectly.

Just because somethings mainstream Ad doesnt make it ****, i thought you would have grown up a little by now and realised that. People who suddenly hate things becuase they become popular are as much tools as the people who only like things becuase they are the in thing.

1. Don't patronise me.

2. Auto-tuners are the nature of pop - thanks for proving my point. Pop=shoddy music by talentless people, hence why they need auto-tuners.

3. Ability to market herself. Yes. You know music is in some state when the "better" artists are better because they "know how to market themselves".

Sadly, people like music that is the norm, most people are scared to step out of the circle. Not only this, but when music is run by money like it is nowadays, then the music that has the most money behind it (i.e. production quality, advertisement) then it's going to be more popular. Doesn't mean it's as entertaining as other stuff and certainly doesn't mean it's good. It's just marketed to people and people eat it up.

It's nothing to do with growing up Gregor, it's an opinion. I didn't say mainstream music is ****, but it sounds to me that a) a lot of it sounds the same nowadays even if it is good b) it's more about the money than passion, message and talent. It's about morals. I'd rather not listen to some Kaiser Chief album that is produced solely to make money because they're pressured to write something that will "sell" instead of what they want to write.

There are a lot of things wrong with pop-music even if it's not how the music itself sounds.
