Just out of curiosity , I was wondering what everyone else did first when they start a new game.

Personally , I read through all the messages , then take a look at my Team Report.
After this I start to look through my players and try to decide what tactics/player roles will suit my squad.
I usually don't start signing/selling until I have found a tactic.

What about you?

What benefit does signing players add if you don't have a tactic?

But, yes, I do the same as you.

pretty much the same as you
but i start selling players who just arent good enough for the team

1. Clean the staff. Only the best are allowed to work with the best (me (H))
2. Clean the squad. The s**** players are thrown away
3. Clean scheduled friendlies. And then re-schedule them with the teams I want

I also release all reserve players who just aren't good enough for the first team squad , it's remarkable how much wages it free's up.

ill usually try to get the all the coaches training one area and have all areas at least 4 stars

1. Sign Tord Grip:p.
2. Cancel all useless friendlies
3.Import training schedule and assign my player's training into it.
4.Terminate some useless staff
Then finally sign some players;)

- set my tactic
- set match preparation
- set my training ( senior and youth team )
- looking for better coaches and thrown away all jerk coaches ( actually all staff include physio and scout )
- renewal my potential youngster contract
- set my friendlies
- adjust transfer fund and interact with board ( feeder club, need more staff, buy stadium, build youth facilities )
and congratulation.. I got blue screen :p

-messages
-boardroom requests
-team settings
-sort tactics
-sort training
-upload shortlists
-sort the staff out
-sort the playing staff out

dont think ive missed anything :)

- Release all the usless reserves who won't be used.
- Get rid of all of the useless backroom staff.
- Assign training schedules to all my players depending on where they play.
- Cancel friendlies I don't want to play and arrange my own.
- Get new backroom staff.
- Talk to board for new facilities and what not.
- Buy players!

Tell my rivals manager I think he's *****.

Set up my usual tactic, normally Wingers, CDM and CM.. Loan out my Youth prospects, Match preparation, organise friendlies, strengthen all aspects of the team, win trophies.

Change that box next to the league table on the home screen to Pending Transfers

*Read Messages
*Read club history (if its a team i have never managed before)
*Have a look at team report
*Put any players up for sale or loan
*Hire and fire backroom staff
*Set manager instructions (manager reserves, manager under18s, etc)
*Look at players i want to buy/loan and start the ball rolling

1.Read team report
2.import traning schedules
3.re-arrange frindlies
4.i tell some fringe players to GTFO of the team
5.I create some tactics (preferably 2)
6.buy players as cover to my star players or just buy players so i can have a balanced squad
7.always make a big-impact transfer(as long aas i have the money to)

1)Read the team reports
2)Arrange friendlies
3)Decide tactics etc after first friendly
4)Strengthen weak areas of squad
5)Get parent/feeder
6)Loan out your **** players to feeder. Bring in some loans from your parent club
7)Get rid of any 'regen' staff.

This is what I do as well. I also do boardroom requests though. Youth Facilities, Feeder/Parent Club and Percentage of Transfer Revenue.

I go on holiday, the pressure from the fans and press just gets to me....
