What Game Are You Playing At The Moment?

I might come out looking like an a$$hole, but i'm kinda glad to see Andromeda being ripped apart by everyone. Still mad at those last 15 minutes of ME3. And it's being, what, 5, 6 years. Bioware has definitively lost their way after DAII. Something happened there. Every game that was worked by them previously was amazing, story and gameplay wise. Then came dumbing down for wider audiences and quality of games has fallen drastically.

I never had much hopes for Andromeda to be quite honest. My biggest AAA hope this year is Prey. Seems to be something similar to Alien Isolation but with more RPG elements.

ME2 left them a deep hole that messed ME3 up (my opinion).

I know you're specifically talking about losing narrative direction here but I think lots of people miss this about ME2. Great game, but it basically ****** ME3 from the start by doing sod all to advance the plot whatsoever. Introducing a new villian took away from the threat of the Reapers and was ultimately completely pointless ( the decision at the end gives you like 10 warscore in ME3 so not completely pointless I guess ;) )They did a great job of introducing a new cast but also managed to **** up the flow of the story and leave ME3 to both develop AND resolve the major plot points. Trilogies normally don't work like that for a reason. Imagine if in the Two Towers, the majority of the book was spent with a new Fellowship fighting the Easterlings, the scaaaaary new servants of Sauron, then RotK had to have most of Rohan, Helm's Deep, Saruman etc etc crammed into it as well. The Subtle Knife is one of my favourite books ever, near perfect in my opinion, but it's partly that good because it throws the final book in the trilogy completely under the bus in terms of pacing and plot.

The fact that they had to contrive a way for you to ******* die at the start of ME2, just so that the massive deviance from the Reaper threat would make sense, should have set alarm bells ringing.

ME2 certainly messed up the plot for the others, but it was also by far the best game of the three.

Hype.

Has anyone finished ME:A yet? I haven't played loads, but so far the story is so unrepentently terrible I don't really want to waste any more time on it. Does it get better?

Never played it so a bit clueless but - didn't they release an alternate ending or something?

The ending to 3 is one of the songle biggest travestys in gaming history. I put 100s of hours of my life in that game completing the trilogy on insanity and I won't post spoilers but it was an absolutely awful way to end the trilogy, I'd have been happier if you just beat the lost boss and then it bricked your console

Haha so they didn't release an alternate because of the uproar of everyone moaning?

Original Starcraft being remastered. This is quite possibly the most arousing thing I've heard in like.....forever :D

I can't believe I'm turning to Dunkey of all ******* people for a serious review but yeah, this about sums it up
