new laptop is here, seriously how the **** do people use windows 8 it hurts my head! new steam account set up dalekirk5885 add me :P

treat myself to galactic civilizations 3 earlier and after sitting on it all night have to say I love it, at first it seems like a graphical update of which in itself wouldn't be a bad thing but they have just added layers of depth it seems like and customisation which works very well. Also steam workshop has some absolutely insane stuff, this game is defo going to occupy some serious amounts of my time! especially tomorrow at work when I am on shift alone!!

How's the AI? I remember Gal Civ 2 AI was amazing back in a day.

Im only had few test games about 50 turns in on both but seems decent enough. Both games AI aggressively colonised taking systems in my territory and trying to also cut me off on resources so it looks fairly promising to me

Pillars of Eternity expansion is out, if anyone's interested. From what I hear it has up to 20 hours of extra content and higher level cap. The entire game also gets some important improvements to the mechanics. Customizable AI scripts for your team members (Healer, Tank etc.) should be a lot of help.

Appears the core game of Guild Wars 2 is going F2P. I don't play GW myself as I hate it (tried it and it was incredibly meh), but I suspect that would increase pressure on Blizz to make the core game of WoW go F2P. though I wouldn't want WoW to go F2P ever. If it happened I'd stop subbing

Finished Pillars of Eternity expansion, its quite fun. Scripted AI for party members is rather simple (you just pick tactical profiles), but still a godsend for Real Time With Pause haters. I was hoping for something more advanced like Dragon Age Origins great scripting system, but this will do.

There's lot more CYOA style scripted events, which are more complex and more common then in base game.

They pushed the graphics even further, with a lot of animated effects on top of 2d backgrounds. Story is fairly generic and straightforward. Its basically a new added new hub with one main quest and bunch of side-quests. Which is fine I suppose for what is basically a side story-arc. Fun to do, but not something you'll vividly remember couple of years after playing.

Other then that, new monsters, new items, more levels and so on.

Whole thing cloked in about 20 hours playtime.

One thing that I have to complain about is pathfinding which is significantly worse than base game for some reason. Otherwise its quite polished, I didn't run into any major bugs.

Overall solid addition to already great game. If second expansion keeps up this quality, we'll be looking at 80-100h game with plenty of of possibilites for multiple playthroughs. Doesn't really get better than that.

GW2 is extremely disappointing and for what i understood the F2P part will just be a stripped version? They're also doing it as a teaser for the expansion coming up. Trying to get new players by the F2P part and make them buy the expansion/full version.
I don't know how it will be with GW2, but with Guild Wars you had to buy all the expansions to be able to ply the meta in the dungeons (and be relevant in PvP).
Either way, I love playing Guild Wars and do still play it for the PvP. It really is something on it's own, but too late to get into it now.

Anyone here play PVZ Garden Warfare on Xbox One?

I want to do the garden defense mode on Crazy difficulty but most random players you get put with suck balls!

Just voted in the Golden Joystick Awards and my reward? Bioshock Infinite for £1. I'm happy. Been curious about this game for a while so finally get to try it out

I play about 3-4 games on steam, my steam account has 250 games, I mean bearing in mind a lot of those where from humble bundles or steam summer sales. I've probs spent not too much on steam games (or that having 250games would suggest). Just had a lot of power going to waste and also takes up a shitload of room, easier sell too with the steam account and I just spend 50 quid on the games I do play and come out with cash left over.

Toshiba Satellite C55D-C-10J 15.6 inch Notebook (AMD A8-7410 Quad-Core APU with AMD Radeon R5 Graphics, 8GB RAM, 1TB HDD): Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories

bought this, will do the job and then some.

How has the laptop been going mate? Looking to get myself a new one once I have saved enough!

Yeah going great, EU4 is a bit slow but I am used to completing a month I'm 3 seconds so now takes around 10-15, runs FM effortlessly though and I have tried Pillars of eternity too which plays well enough. Acide test could be Ancient Space that is a more graphics heavy game, picked it up dirt cheap though so worth risk. I just need to optimise and also Paradox need to better optimise their games for multicore but they do get better with every patch. But yeah cannot complain bought a mouse too to make life easier.

Played knights of pen and paper last night for a good few hours OMG what a game, aside from Kerbal Space Program I have never had so much opportunity to channel my inner nerd! On sale right now in humble store theyre doing a build your own paradox bundle, 5games 90 percent off I got a ridiculous amount of games and DLC for 8 pound
