What If ?... A Newcastle United Story

Sky Sports News:

After pursuing Hoffenheim pair Vedad Ibisevic and Demba Ba, John Carver has been priced out of moves for the two towering strikers. However Andy Carroll has today made a bold statement after hearing the news of this, telling John Carver he doesn't need another striker and he is more than prepared to fill the void of strikers that have left. John Carver seems willing to give the young Geordie Striker a chance after making comments earlier on in the season saying he is willing to blood the clubs youth players. On other Newcastle United news Razvan Ochirosii has been loaned to Watford until the end of the season in order to gain some valuable competitive experience. Ochirosii is a new signing at St James Park, but with Jonas, Damien Duff, Peter Lovenkrands all currently fighting it out for the left wing position, it has looked unlikely that the talented youngster would be given a run in the first team this season.

check out my old hoffenheim story and their should be a few screenshots in that

just saw the thread now and a screen shot of him, he looks like a really good player. do you try to buy him everytime then, coz if you do what is he like for a big club?

In John Carver's quest for glory at his hometown club, it has so far not got off to a good start in the League:

Newcastle United 1 - 2 Manchester City (FA Premier League)

With a weakened Newcastle side as of injuries to Martins, Viduka, Carroll, Kadar and suspension and Internationals of Joey Barton and Eden Hazard. Against a full strength Man City side of Robinho, Barry, Bellamy and Zhirkov things looked grim for the Toon side and they certainly were. The game started off with Bellamy nabbing the ball off Beye, taking on Taylor then a powerful shot only to go the wrongside of the post. But the Magpies got the first goal after a cross from Enrique met the head of Nedum Onuoha to score an own goal for the light blues. The lead didn't last long as Robinho took on Beye, Taylor and finished off with a shot in the bottom left corner to go level with the Mags. Newcastle kicked off and were immediatley on there toes as De Jong took the ball off Nolan only to pass to Zhirkov who blazed down the line, and for his cross to meet the head of Gareth Barry who nodded the ball straight past Harper into the top right. The game was all Manchester City after that with only the heroics of Steve Harper preventing more goals going into the Newcastle net.

MOM: Harper

Aston Villa 3 - 0 Newcastle United (FA Premier League)

A change of tactics and tweak of the line up from John Carver turned out to be an uninspired choice at the game at Villa Park today.A quick fire of goals from Stiliyan Petrov, Emile Heskey, Ashley Young at 21, 24 and 32 mins threw the game for Newcastle completley out the window and with players to come back from injury and internationals for their next Premier League game, John Carver will be hoping they are the players to make a difference to his young Newcastle side.

MOM: Young

Newcastle United 3 - 0 Chesterfield (Carling Cup)

Newcastle gave first starts to LuaLua, Doninger, Krul and Edgar to field an inexperienced but talented side against Chesterfield.Newcastle should of won by at least 10 but their inability to convert their chances kept them from scoring until the last 30 minutes when Jonas, Martins and Ryan Taylor came off the bench to help Newcastle to victory. Goals from Lovenkrands (2) and Jonas helped seal the win, but Newcastle's youngsters gave a performance to be proud of.

MOM: Lovenkrands

Newcastle United 2 - 0 Middlesborough (FA Premier League)

Bringing the momentum from Chesterfield, Newcastle domintated this game from the start to finish. Newcastle got off to a flyer after Obafemi Martins tapped in a cross from Jonas in the 15th minute, Middlesborough nearly got back into the game after Alfonso Alves took a shot from 25 yards only for it to whisker over. Second half and Joe Ledley stormed Boro's defence when a late tackle by Robert Huth caught Ledley in the area, penalty was awarded which Enrique slotted in the bottom left corner to double Newcastle's lead. 10 mins to go and Newcastle nearly made it 3 after Lovenkrands hit the post from a shot on the edge of the area. Newcastle came out on top in the Tyne Tees derby and Carver bagged his 1st League victory for Newcastle.

MOM: Jonas

Great result against Boro, one to be proud of, unlucky about the Aston Villa game, but give your team time to gel and when you face them again you will surely beat them.

Yeah 6 players have been brought in and can't expect them to play well together straight away, but things are starting to come together just strikers need to start scoring more instead of leaving it to wingers and midfield.

Be patient with your team mate :) My Wigan team started off badly at home, but then we finished 4th in the first season :P Keep up the good work and nice win against Mboro, bet the fans were happy :)

Portsmouth 3 - 1 Newcastle United (FA Premier League)

A game that Newcastle were the better side but failed to convert chances, Coloccini got Newcastle off to a flyer after he nodded home a corner from Ryan Taylor at 2 minutes. Things turned pear shaped from here as Portsmouth scored twice as of errors by Steve Harper with goals from Davis & Pennant. Newcastle had plenty chances including a header from Carroll that hit the bar, shot from edge of box by Skjelbred that hit the post and missed penalty by Martins. Portsmouth finished the Magpies off as Sean Davis scored a screamer from 25 yards on 84 minutes. Carver has sustained a poor start to the premiership campaign at Newcastle with much expectations.

MOM: Davis

After this I went off the game for a bit and read rrrrrrrr's story about Netherlands Antilles (Immense). And now football manager won't start :( I've put save on usb stick aswell as back up just incase, but hoping I can get footy man back on again as I had to re-install it before when this happened. If I don't fix it tonight, I'll fiz it tomorrow and continue with the story again then :)
