Hello!

Last week I tried FM09 at a friends place and got spellbound so a few days ago I bought it myself. Turns out it wasnt as easy as I thought.
Playing Schalke 04 and can't for the love of me get a good tactic down. Really struggling against teams that I shouldnt be.

Had a quick look in this forum for potential reinforcements, after consideration I made a few purchases of young and promising players at the start of the season, planning on being more active during the next transfer window.
Acquired Ochirosii, Skjelbred, Faccioli and Todorov. Having rotated the defensive line during the pre-season I found that Krstajic put on some really solid performances so I decided to take an offer I got on Bordon to free some money up for a younger DC. Unfortunately I didn't get ahold of the personnel I wanted so I decided to wait and see.

Also tried out a few tactics I found in threads here, but I obiviously have to adapt them to my squad, but just can't seem to get it right.

Here's my current squad, any and all suggestions are much appreciated.

Hi all, been trying to get to grips with the game, last time I played would be 06 and used to be doing pretty well.

I've been playing as Blackburn, first game finished mid table at the end of the first season, and then got fired after losing three games in the second.

Started again, have the following team at the moment, but looking for tips!

Anyone any ideas? Seem to be doing ok at the moment, but seem firmly in the mid table regions and trying to push on a bit.

I favour a 4-4-1-1. play with a quick , direct, attacking game. An attacking mid wit good creativity, pace and dribbling and 2 central mids with good work rate and tackling is needed. not the highest scoring formation but grinds out hard fought wins. Important 2 hav good work rate attributes.

Need a good tactic, for a talented prem side

Im trying to create a good tactic for these players.. I dont know if i should create a formation to incorporate certain players, etc...:S
Key:*=Almost definite first choice.
+ = bit too young/inexperienced atm

Heres my Squad:
Goalkeepers
Igor Akinfeev*
Alan McGregor, V.Fiorillo+, A.Begovic+

Full Backs
Sylvinho(D/WBL),Belletti(D/WBR, DM/MC), P.Fererria(D RL), D.Santon(D/WB/AM R)+

Centre Backs
D.Wheater(DC), M.Upson(DC), S.Taylor(DC), B.Hangeland(D,DM,M C), L.Andreason(D, DM, M C), J.Rodwell(D, DM M C)+

Centre Midfielders
Michael Johnson(MC), Mark Noble(MC), J.Bullard(AM RC), Rodney Sneijder(M RLC)+, Marc Wilson(D,DM,M C)+, M.Woods(MC)+

Attacking Mids and Wingers
A.Arshavin(AM RLC/ FC), S.Downing(AM L), A.McGeady(AM RL),

Strikers
Vagner Love(FC), Rodrigo Palacio(FC), A.Kerzhakov(ST), Ric Oliviera(ST)(J.Atidore(ST), OUT on loan.)

I have a few good youngsters and 2 or 3 wonderkids, some sent out on loan.

This is not very far into the game btw. A mid table prem team, looking to push on for Europe, and maybe more(<< lol that sounds like some dating advert in the paper)

Going to bring in some older players on free transfers for some depth, such as

-Stephen Appiah(M C) (GHA Int'nl)
-Gerard (MC) (SPA Int'nl)
-Ronaldo (ST) (BRA Int'nl)

Also, i might sign Gio Van Bronckhorst, as Sylv. is injured, just as cover, he is cheap.

needing some consistency

Hi, I am in my 5th season and have managed to get Leeds United up to the premiership. This is my first season up there. I play 3-5-2 with wing backs, and the right + left sided central midfielders making forward runs, while the central of the three has no preference.

My squad is...

GK
Pletikosa, Ashdown, Hartock, Gorobets

CB
Carrozzieri, Delpierre, Michalik, Miranda, De la Cuesta, Grounds

WBR
Diogo, Ruud, Rosenior

WBL
Smith (steven), Mulgrew, White (aiden)

CM
Sandro, Puri, Ciaramitaro, Howson, Viana, Diop (pape), Mutch, Perez (gustavo)

ST
Crouch, Dentinho, Anier, Anichebe, Sutton (john)

I either win 4-1 or lose 4-0. and it doesnt seem to matter who im playing against or if its home or away, it appears to be completely random. for example, i beat everton 4-0 at goodison park, and the next week i lose 5-3 to wolves and elland road.

anyone got any tactical advice for a little bit more consistency?

cheers

Does anyone have any suggestions for the best tactic to use with this squad and who would be best to be set as a playmaker or given a free role.

Hi,
I am managing barca, 1st season(1 game left)-won the league, lost in champ league semi final to real madrid, lost spanish cup final also to real madrid arggg....

My team:
GK:valdes, jorquera
DR:alves, vanden borre
DC:puyol, pique, marquez, cecares, g.milito
DL:sylvinho, abidal
MC:xavi, iniesta, keita, toure, busquet, rodney sneijder
AMC:van der vaart
AML:henry, assulin(guardado)arriving in summer
AMR:messi, hleb
ST:eto'o, bojan, gudjohnsen

I played the tactic 4-2-3-1 but it one of my MC and striker rating was 5+ and most of the game I won by 1 or 2 goal margin even against bottom team. Outplayed when away sometime at home. My striker was my worst headache as they neither scoring nor performing up to the standard no matter how i adjust them.

My formation

GK

DR DC DC DL

MC MC

RW AMC LW

ST

Anything can be done to get my ST and MC start performing. Thanks

I need a tactic for Leeds 1st season

I'm in my 1st season with Leeds and it's not going too well! Beckford's not scoring, i've signed Possebon, Ian Walker, Nemeth, Fiore, De La Cruz and a couple of others.

I've tried a couple of different tactics, I usually win 1 match but then lose 2 or 3. Any suggestions welcome please!!!

Cheers

Hi, I just started as Leeds and I can't really think of how to play, tempo, formation, passing style etc.. This is my team:
Any help will be thanked :)

Hi

hi i am currently sheffield wednesday in the championship but i can tfind a decent tactic to suit the team can you help please??

Provide relatively detailed information please such as youre squad etc

ok Im not understanding why people keep asking 'depends on how you want to play?' when people are looking for tactical advice! Correct me if Im wrong but if I say I want to play a mixed passing game then what does that mean I do with the tempo and width bars??? DO the different styles only work depending on how you designate the other options on team instructions, defensive line, time wasting etc?? please help, because I have asked this before and have had no reply :(

The rundown I have just joined Man Utd from Sporting and tried to use the same tactic, basically a mixed passing game with high tempo, lots of width and normal defense etc.... what should I be looking to implement here?? Not winning at all with Man Utd! :(

As a start, I would probably raise the d-line and perhaps the closing down of the defenders. Also consider using the OI Close Down/Always on their attackers, at least when facing defensive opponents that uses their FC to hold up the ball until reinforcement arrives.

and do you play an attacking, all out attack??? what about passing is it normal, direct, long??? tempo?? width?? just looking for your point of view....cheers for the advice before matey! :)

442 all out attack worked for me at newcastle... won the prem in first season! thats your best bet unless you download one of the tactics from here!

i think you should consider 4-2-3-1.

listen all fans of fm,please tell me the a tactic for my arsenal.I"m arsenal and I bought srna, moutinho and santon.please, please tell me a tactic for that arsenal team

Im currently just playing a simple 442 attacking formation,
it works ok most of the time but i fet a few really bad string of results 2 - 3 times a season n its really messing up my title bid =|... i keep tryin other tactics but none seem to be doin better than the last....

GK- Given

DL- Lescott DC- Kompany, David Luiz DR- Richards
ML- Sanchez MC- Johnson, Hamsik, MR-Srna/Wright-Phillips
ST- Robinho, Vagner Love

I am in desperate need of a good formation and tactics that will work for Arsenal. This is my third managerial career on any FM and as of yet it has been going well. I gained promotion into the Championship with Leicester, haven't revisited that of yet, won the treble with Manchester City and then won the Double in my second season, but my Arsenal game has had an incredibly poor start.

During the summer I believe I signed Sakho and Yaya Toure, whilst releasing Gallas and Denilson. I didn't plan on a mass exodus as I know that Arsenal are completely overrated on FM.

But, I have lost my first game against Chelsea in poor fashion. They completely dominated the game and my team didn't look good enough.

Adebayor is usually a goal scoring machine, any tips on how to utilize him to his strengths?

A winning formation would do.

Thanks.

This is my Blackburn team. Really struggling to get the strikers playing well at all. As I have a very potent looking strikeforce I'm obviously not providing them with the right type of service.

Tried various formations like 4-4-2, 4-3-3, 4-3-1-2. Nothing seems to gel with my players. I always play attacking, direct style. Trying to hit the target man (Cardozo).

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Cheers!
