Whitley Bay from Level 9 Upwards

Worked out why my leagues were getting all jumbled... didn't set geographical boundaries. Just downloaded that other guys edit down to level 10.

With my Salisbury game...
Spent 4 seasons in BSP, champions in my 4th season.
Won L2 following season
Lost playoff final of L1
Won L1
Lost playoff final of Championship (having finished 3rd on GD behind Burnley in 2nd for automatic)
Won Championship
13th in PRM

Not a bad run you had. No idea how you got hunterlaar ! You should make a thread about yor story. It would be very intresting !

So here is the last two fixtures this season with a home tie against Bishop Auckland and a final against Blyth Spartans at " The International Stadium" in Gateshead not St James Park where real life is where the final is.

Whitley Bay 0 - 3 Bishop Auckland
Why does football be so cruel on you when you dont deserve it? The worst way to see out a season. Whitley Bay only played a weakend side so no injuries are caused for the final next week. Guess my reseves aren't the best of players.

Blyth Spartans 3 - 0 Whitley Bay
We wernt the favourites and that showed as Blyth win the Northumberland Senoir Cup in Gateshead. Whitley Bay did give there best attemps but Blyth are a totally different side and well done to them.

So thats the end of my 1st season and the board did expect better but thats there problem. Local rivals South Shields and Ashington wont be coming to Hillshead next year as they go down and Morpeth win the league with the only local side left as Bedlington. Find out all the departures from the club on the next update.

3rd best player: Jason Jones
I gave this award to Jason becuase he settled striaght into the squad and made an imediate impact. Well done Jason.

2nd best player : David Coulson
David has been the strongest player in the team playing 44 games this season aswell as scoring 2 goals. He has been solid at the back and deserves this award.

Best Player of the season : Henry Asamoah
We has been on fire all season and as a teeneger still he will hopelly have a successfull time at Whitley Bay. Playing 33 games and scoring all 5 peneltys he took and being excellent at the back. Well done Henry !

Well since last time we met lots has happened. Whitley Bay has offered Michael Soulsby a new contract which will keep him there for anther 3 years. " Iam happy to be incharge at Whitley Bay and thats why i have accepted the contract."is what Soulsby said earlier today.

The 3 lads from Blyth have went back to there clubs for the summer. With 5 players contract ending at the end of June will they get contracts offered? Lets see then.....

Friendlies

Whitley Bay 0 - 4 Blyth Spartans
Disapointing performance from the new Whitley Bay squad. Blyth outclassed us again like in the cup final. We can only dream to be there in a couple of years.

North Sheilds 0 - 0 Whitley Bay
Nothing really happened in this game. Most boring fixture since ive been incharge. Whitley Bay players did ok but ok isnt good enough.

Kettering 2 - 0 Whitley Bay
Still no win but i expected to be smash by my parent club. We did play quiet well but didnt get many chances on goal. And still no goals.

Jarrow 0 - 1 Whitley Bay ( Abbey )
Whiltey Bay didnt play that well but they stoal a very late goal from new signing Ben Abbey who made his debut. Atleast a win will get the squads confidence up. Only one more friendly until the 1st game of the season.

Hebburn 1 -1 Whitley Bay ( Roberts )
Good way to end preseason with a draw against a strong side. The goals are looking to find themselves coming back and in perfect timing. Overall the game wasnt the best but it had its good parts.

Its tough mate but stick with it I Shields a league below BSN and is tough but as long as you stick to tactics you should be fine. The lack of money does not help like does it?

Sorry for the long wait i havnt benn able to update so soon as i have benn busy. But here we go. The 1st four games in my next season.

Consett 0 - 1 Whitley Bay ( Ryan )
Great way to start the season with an aay win. Leon Ryan scoring just before half time gave the mood in the changing rooms a positive and managed to keep the score the same. Well done lads :)

Whitley Bay 3 - 0 Washington (Roberts, Priest, Hodgson)
Fab win. Whitley Bay have smashed newly promoted Washington at home. Ceri Roberts scores in 17 seconds which really helpped to attitude around the ground.

Tow Law 2 - 0 Whitley Bay
Well looks like Whitley Bay squad has settled back into bad away form. The squad seems like they didnt evan turn up. A game which they need to forget.

Ashton Athletic 0 - 0 Whitley Bay - Fa Cup
Whitley Bay would have wished they won today but they will settle with a draw. I wasnt so happ with the defence but they did ok. Whitley Bay are definitly going into the reply as favourites.

Not a bad start to the next season mate, will be interesting to see how it unfolds.

I decided to go back to my roots and do a lower league game, trying to improve the fortunes of Spennymoor Town (formerly United).

Good story mate

I was takeley in the Essex Senior league and I also go Moore on a free, but he was rubbish, he could finish but he only scored 2 in 15 games. Just didn't seem to be able to create any chance.

I so prefer reading stories like these, so realistic and tough, esp when the person doesn't win every game.. Makes me the reader, want to read more, and hope by luck you can go on a good run.
Also better reading Lower league stories as the main stories, people always buy the same handful of players... Ie.. Di Maria (sp) and Smolock (sp) - borefeast...

Anyway good luck and keep it going

Thanks for the comments lads, Here comes the next few on results.

Whitley Bay 2 - 1 Ashton Athletic ( Preist, Abbey )
This result sees Whitley Bay through to the next round where they will face Blackfield away. Good win today with quiet a good crowd came to watch.

Darlington RA 4 - 1 Whiltey Bay ( Roberts )
Very poor game was this as newly promoted Darlington RA smash a Whitley Bay side who is one of the on form sides in the league. Need to forget about this and move on positivly.

Whitley Bay 1 - 1 Bishop Auckland ( L.Ryan)
Much better result from last time these sides met. Leon Ryan with a chipped shot over the keeper put us in the lead. They soon equlised and the game lost its tempo. Good results all round.

Blackfield 0 - 1 Whitley Bay ( Roberts ) - FA Cup
A good confident win over a weaker side. Lets see how far Whitley Bay can get this far in the FA Cup this year and it will help on the money problems.

Next update will be when i can be bothad which could be around an hour or so.

Whitley Bay 1 - 2 Chipstead ( Roberts ) - League
Good game but the result didnt go our way. They owned the 1st half but after having strong words with my team at half time Ceri Roberts goes out and scores after 2 minutes. But that wasnt enough and lost.

Cobham Sports 1 - 0 Whitley Bay - FA Vase
Well with Whitley Bay going out at the earlist stage isnt the best way to end a competition which you won just 2 years ago. Poor game and poor attendence. Unlucky squad though.

Gosport 1 - 1 Whitley Bay ( Roberts ) - FA Cup 4th quali
Good away result as a reply will be needed to separtate these two sides. The winner will be traveling down south to play Farnborough in the BSS. Ceri Roberts is in good goal scoring form with 5 in 9 apperences.

Whitley Bay 3 - 0 Gosport ( Roberts 2, Robson )
Whitley Bay really showed there attacking talent today infornt of a huge crowd of 361. They will now need to travel all the way down south to face a strong Farnborough side who are firm favourites.

Farnborough 1 - 1 Whitley Bay ( Preist ) - FA Cup
A fantastic away result in which a game my team should have been hammered. A crwod over 1,000 came to watch the cup tie which will need a reply to decide who will go through. Farnborough will need to travel up north to Hillheads on the north east coast.

Whitley Bay 5 - 0 Farnborough ( Roberts 4, L.Ryan ) - FA Cup
Nobody would have betted Whitley Bay winning but nobody would have believed you in saying we won 5 nile ! This is definatly the biggest thing which has happened to the club since 2008 when they won the FA Vase. Winning this tie gives us a tie away to BSN side Northwich.

Whitley Bay 1 - 0 Dunston ( Asamoah pen) - League
A good league win under my belt as Whtley Bay win there second game in a row. The spirit at the club couldnt be higher after the Farnboough game. Hope this keeps up.

Horden CW 2 - 1 Whitley Bay ( Roberts )
No win today as Whitley Bay's poor league away record continues. I was looking like a draw until they scored in the 75th minute which pulled the heads down on the lads. Unlucky but should have done better.

looking good. great result v farnbrough

Cheers Nick i really apprishiate you commenting on my thread. Hope iam making you happy.

Northwich 1 - 0 Whitley Bay
I was so disappointed to go out at this stage in the FA Cup. I expected Northwich to play much better than they did and Whitley Bay could have stole a reply but couldnt get passed strong goalkeeper. Iam still very proud of the lads!

Guisborough 1 - 3 Whitley Bay ( Roberts, Abbey 2 )
A good away win against the team rock bottom of the league. A perfect way to get back on track after loss in the cup. Both strikers played well and got atleast a goal each today. Well done.:)

---------- Post added at 08:45 PM ---------- Previous post was yesterday at 04:37 PM ----------

Spennymoor Town 1 - 0 Whitley Bay
I was so angry with Spennymoor as they score in the 90th minute. I was very impressed with my team evan though we did derserve atleast a draw amybe evan a victory. It isnt very fair football at some times.

Billingham Town 2 - 1 Whitley Bay ( Roberts )
Another away defeat as Whitley Bay travel back homw woth no points. Something is going
to need to change as we will need more away points to stand a chance of finishing in the top half of the table.

Whitley Bay 2 - 2 Billingham Syn ( Kirby, Roberts )
Good draw today against a decent side. The goals which the wingers make will really boost there confidence. Kirby's goal is a one he will never forget.

Shildon 1 - 0 Whitley Bay
I have no idea what iam going to do. We cant seem to win and we arnt climbingup the league we are going down. If it stays at this rate there is a big chace of going down. Something needs to be done and now !

not going to well now:'(. Shame about the FA Cup but you lost in style away to Northwich

Whitley Bay 2 - 0 Norton&Stockton ( Kirby, Abbey )
Good win today against a good side. Kirby is starting to turn into a decent winger. Some players have been released and i has made a difference.

Whitley Bay 1 - 2 Esh Winning ( Steventon )
Disapointing defeat today and iam hoping that this is a one off. Good goal from the lad but quality of goal doesnt count. Should have really won but we didnt.

Seaham 4 - 0 Whitley Bay
I didnt really want to report on today game. Ive never seen the team play so bad. I give credit to the keeper who tired his best but the defence were in shambles after the 1st goal. I expect much better.

Whitley Bay 3 - 0 Spennymoor Town ( Roberts, Abbey 2) - Brooks Mileson Cup
I didnt see this happening today after getting beat of a average side but hammering a better team and a clean sheet this will really boost the crowds confidence.

Update later tonight after my football training which has just started again ! (H)

---------- Post added at 06:13 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:43 AM ----------

Whitley Bay 1 - 1 Chester le Street ( Abbey pen)
Good draw as we get another penelty to get back into the game. Good game overall though with a crowd of exactly 100.

Penrith 4 - 0 Whitley Bay
Well just looking at the score will describe how i felt about this game. There is no excuses today and we played much better before.

Whitley Bay 1 - 0 Consett ( Roberts )
Good home win today with the team playing with bags of confidence. Good goal from Ceri Roberts made me a happy manager.

Whitley Bay sign a new player
Whitley Bay manager Michael Soulsby has brought a new player to his squad. Alex Gildea, former Blyth Spartans, Whitby and Guisbrough wing back has joined after being released in the summer. He will be able to play his home debut in the Brooks Mileson 3rd round draw to Stokesley.

Whitley Bay 2 - 1 Stokesley ( Gildea pen, Roberts )
Not a bad win for Whitley and a debut goal for Alex Gildea which isnt a bad way to introduce himself. Whitley Bay have no found themselves in the Quater final.

Ask if you wont any screensots of the league or players etc ... dont be affread ! :)

Update after i get back from school. :(

---------- Post added at 04:13 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:52 AM ----------

Washington 0 - 0 Whitley Bay
Not the most exciting game ive seen. Neither side looked bothad today and the outcome ended up as a no score draw. David Coulson got sent off for Whitley Bay and will be suspended for the next game against on form West Allotment.

Whitley Bay 1 - 2 West Allotment ( Roberts )
Disapointing result for Whitley as they lose a game which they could have won. The defencive were weakened with suspensions and injuries.

New Signings !
Whitley manager Soulsby has been looking for more midfields and has found two decent new players. Graeme Mushet who got relseaed from Ayr in the summer and the experienced Tony Hooper from recently relegated Workington. Both players will come straight into the squad as soon as possible. And to add to the weekened fowards Lee Spike as a free agent will help Ceri , Leon and Ben alot.

Whitley Bay 2 - 1 Tow Law ( Roberts, Spike )
A good home win with a very late on debut goal for new signing Lee Spike. Evan though we got the three points, Whitley manager still wasnt so chuffed as he expected a bigger win.

Chipstead 0 - 0 Whitley Bay
Poor game as only a crowd of 63 turned up to watch there home side which didnt get backing from the crowd which made it a boring game. Expected better from Whitley Bay though.

Next update will be after i player next 4 games :)

Another new player !
Whitley Bay manager has desided to sign another new player to his squad. " Shaun Reay will be an amazing player and hopully going to score bags full of goal for us". is what Michael Soulsby told the media earlier today. He is reportedly on loan for Blyth till the end of the season.

Whitley Bay 1 - 1 Bedlington Terriors ( Robson )
Good draw against an equaly good side. Fantastic managerial skill bringing on Robson just before a freekick and then scores straight away. Last game of 2010 isnt a bad one.

Whitley Bay 4 - 0 Darlington RA ( Ryan 2, Robson, Roberts )
What a way to kick off 2011 with an amazing win. I dont think Leon Ryan could keep his lack of goal anylonger and scores after only 15 seconds. Explosive start for Whitley and fingers crossed that it continues !

Bishop Auckland 0 - 1 Whitley Bay ( Reay )
An away win against a team who had won there last 5 in a row isnt bad. Shaun Reay scores his 1st goal just after 4 minutes and it stayed that way. Great run of form for Whitley Bay.

Whitley Bay 2 - 2 Ryton ( Reay 2)
Evan though there wasnt a winner iam very impressed with the squad who held our ground and didnt get beat off a strong team. Could this half of the season be better for Whitley Bay and will they climb the table faster than they predicted ?

League table and Shaun Reay's Profile
