Wigan Manger Writes History

Wigan Athletic manger Charlie House has written history by winning Wigan's first Carling Cup Trophy in there 80 year history in a tight thrilling game against Everton were Wigan got a winner through McCarthy from the spot in the 110th minute to win Wigan the cup 1-0 this is also an amazing achievement because it qualifies Wigan Athletic for the Europa League for the first time which is a big step for a club expected to finish stone cold in 20th and relegated because they are also high flying in the league in 10th plus they are in the sixth round of the FA Cup. Wigan fans will be amazingly happy with there clubs current result in this amazing season.

Barclays Premier League Review
We had a great season finish 10th which is ten places above where we were expected to finish in stone cold 20th. We clocked up some amazing wins over the big boys like our 3-1 win over Chelsea FC towards the start of the season and only losing by one goal in many games against the big boys this proves we can compete against them in the future when we strengthen our squad. We also beat our rivals Bolton Wanders twice which was a great result for our fans. Overall i'am delighted with this years campaign and for my first season in charge it was amazing.

Carling Cup Review
An amazing cup campaign where we went all the way and lifted the cup for the first time in our 80 year history. We beat Bournemouth 1-0 , Burnley 2-0 , Millwall 3-2 , Leicester 1-0 and Fulham on penalties after both legs finished 1-1 and then in the final we took on Everton FC for only our second ever Carling Cup Final. The match was a tight intense thriller and we got our 1-0 winner in the 110th mintue of extra time to mark a massive event in the clubs history and we are hoping we can improve on this.

FA Cup Review
We also had another good campaign making it all the way to semi final where we were knocked out by liverpool who went on to win the trophy. We beat Birmingham 2-1 , Wolverhampton Wanders 3-2 , Cardiff City 2-0 , Bolton Wanders 1-0 and then lost 3-2 to Liverpool but this also provide that in the future we can challenge for this trophy.

Good first season, you need to bulk up your squad for Europe though because you will suffer. If you do well in the league , you mightn't do aswell in Europe , just all depends on your aims. I'm liking the work you've done so far. I had a Wigan save for awhile and i enjoyed it.

Wigan Athletic Get Through Hard Month
Wigan Athletic got through a extremely hard month were they had to play Manchester United , Liverpool , Tottenham Hotspur and Fulham. Wigan played above expectation only losing by one goal to Man U , Liverpool and spurs and beating Fulham FC. Now this month is over they can start to picking up point because in there first month they play Southampton , Stoke City and West Ham. We should now begin to see them fly up the table and currently lying in 17th you can expect them to rise up to about 10th in the league and if they played like they did this month they will finish above last year with ease.


Wigan Strike Duo
Wigan Athletic's two strikers Hugo Rodallega and Demba Ba have started the season brightly and they look like they have been playing together for years. They are both full of goals and assists and they look deadly. I think Premier League Clubs should fear them because there shear power and pace. Demba Ba's 7 million move was great for both him and Wigan Athletic.

Wigan Athletic's Stadium Expansion Finished
Wigan Athletic's the DW stadium's expansion was today finished. The expansion meant that the DW got 6000 more seats which has now taken it to a capacity of 32,000 which means it a has grown a great deal just like the clubs status as they have flied up the table and they look like they will advance pasted the group stages of the Europa League which be an amazing achievement for the club and Manger Charlie House who is response able for the massive turnaround for the club going from relegation favourites to Carling cup champions and finish mid table in 10th in his first season in charge and they are currently 7th with games in hands and in the semi final of the Carling cup and still in the FA Cup and Europa League the future looks bright for Wigan Athletic and Charlie House.

Rodallega does the job!

Hugo Rodallega did a great job of filling in for Demba Ba last month while he is at the African Cup Of Nations. Wigan Athletic will hope he will continue his form until there star striker comes back. He scored 6 goals in all competitions. Hugo Rodallega who used to be the clubs main man is coming out of the shadow of Ba and Zaha.
