No wins in February means improvement is needed, I also start the World Cup Qualification campaign with Wales

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE 1ST KNOCKOUT ROUND SECOND LEG
Cardiff City 1-0 Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich win 3-2 on aggregate
View attachment 143854
Meret, Smalling, Burke (Boyle 75), Bazoer, Rossiter (Grant 77), Green, Zielinski, Johansen, Angerschmid, Oliver (Werner 59), Perovic

We played very well and were unlucky that we didn't win by more. We threw everything at Bayern and deserved to score more but somehow only 1 of out 17 shots went in

BARCLAYS PREMIER LEAGUE
Tottenham Hotspur 3-2 Cardiff City

View attachment 143853
Meret, Bazoer, Burke, Dragovic, Rossiter, Green, Zielinski, Johansen (Perovic 80), Angerschmid, Oliver, Werner

We went 3 down pretty early and easily with Spurs scoring 3 within 20 minutes. Werner and Oliver put us back in with a shout but Spurs held out and we just couldn't get another

FA CUP FIFTH ROUND REPLAY
Shrewsbury Town 1-2 Cardiff City

View attachment 143852
Meret, Gunter, Smalling, Dragovic, Nakagawa (Tausendpfund 68), Johansen, Ralls, P.Boyle, J.Williams, Duelund, Perovic

We got off to the worst possible start with Shrewsbury scoring the opener very early on but we easily turned it around, scoring an equaliser 8 minutes later. It took a while for us to bag another but e did and that's all that matters. Multi million pound youngster Gunther Tausendpfund made his debut as well

FA CUP SIXTH ROUND
Cardiff City 1-0 Newcastle United

View attachment 143851
Meret, Bazoer, Burke, Dragovic, Rossiter, Green, Zielinski, Johansen (Duelund 63), Angerschmid, Oliver, Perovic

A very earl goal from Dusan Perovic was enough to put us through to the Semi Final where we will play Chelsea

BARCLAYS PREMIER LEAGUE
Cardiff City 1-1 Liverpool

View attachment 143850
Meret, Bazoer, Burke, Dragovic, Rossiter, Green, Zielinski, Johansen (L.Cook 64), Angerschmid, Oliver (Boyle 64), Perovic (Werner 64)

A pretty poor performance but we still grabbed a point through a Matip own goal, we still need to improve

BARCLAYS PREMIER LEAGUE
West Ham United 1-0 Cardiff City

View attachment 143849
Meret, Gunter, Burke, Dragovic, Ganea, Zielinski, Rossiter, Green, Oliver, Angerschmid (P.Boyle 63), Perovic (Werner 80)

We changed tactic but still lost, there is something desperately wrong

We began our qualifying campaign this month with games against Azerbaijan and Slovenia. 6 points is a must

WORLD CUP QUALIFYING GROUP 5
Azerbaijan 1-3 Wales

View attachment 143846
Morris, Gunter, Grant, Walsh, Taylor, Ramsey, Huws, James, Bale (Cook 77), Roberts (Lawrence 45), Al-Wadi (Bradshaw 68)

We deployed a 4-4-2 formation with Gareth Bale playing in a more advanced position on the right and it worked as we dominated (as expected) away to Azerbaijan, recording 21 shots. The match also featured a debut for Swansea youth product Stephen Al-Wadi, who's scored 36 goals in 55 appearances for Swansea Under 21s this season

WORLD CUP QUALIFYING GROUP 5
Wales 1-0 Slovenia

View attachment 143845
Morris, Gunter, Grant, Hendry, Taylor, Cook, Ramsey (Huws 71), Allen, Bale, Roberts (Bradshaw 71), Al-Wadi (Lawrence 51)

The game was a lot tighter than I wanted/expected but we pulled through thanks to an early Tyler Roberts header. This game was also Chris Gunetr's 100th cap

Second after 2? Par for the course but I'm scared by Spain, they beat Scotland 6-2

This season has been so poor, our only solace has been our cup run, much like our season a couple of years ago

BARCLAYS PREMIER LEAGUE
Cardiff City 0-1 Stoke City

View attachment 143816
Meret, Bazoer, Burke, Dragovic, Rossiter, Green, Zielinski, Johansen (L.Cook 61), Angerschmid (Werner 36), Oliver, Perovic

Another tight game where we weren't clinical enough, this is starting to annoy me. Marco Angerschmid will be out for 4 weeks with a sprained ankle

BARCLAYS PREMIER LEAGUE
Swansea City 0-2 Cardiff City

View attachment 143815
Meret, Gunter, Bazoer, Dragovic, Nakagawa, Zielinski (Grant 71), Rossiter, Green, Oliver (Boyle 83), Werner, Perovic (Duelund 52)

We travelled to Wales' second city and deployed a 4-2-3-1 and it worked very well. Andre Green grabbed his first of the season while Mikkel Duelund scored his 22nd goal for the club

BARCLAYS PREMIER LEAGUE
Cardiff City 0-1 Aston Villa
View attachment 143814
Meret, Smalling, Bazoer, Dragovic, Nakagawa, Zielinski, Rossiter, Green (Boyle 83), Oliver, Duelund (Perovic 66), Werner

Another game we dominated but conspired to lose, this is happening way too often now, former Bluebird Steven Templeman scored their winner

BARCLAYS PREMIER LEAGUE
Crystal Palace 1-2 Cardiff City

View attachment 143813
Meret, Smalling, Bazoer, Dragovic, Nakagawa, Zielinski (Grant 89), Rossiter, Green, Oliver (Cook 89), Werner (Duleund 16), Perovic

We conceded very early but rallied and dominated the game. Two quickfire goals from Perovic and Oliver were enough to bag us the three points at Selhurst Park

FA CUP SEMI FINAL
Cardiff City 0-0 Chelsea

Cardiff win 4-1 on penalties

View attachment 143812
Meret, Smalling, Burke, Dragovic, Grant, Green (J.Williams 79), Zielinski, Bazoer, Duelund, Oliver (Nakagawa 90), Perovic (Boyle 107)

No Angerschmid, Werner or Rossiter but we held strong against Chelsea and took them all the way to penalties, beating them from the spot as Alex Meret became the hero with two saves. We will face Stoke in our second FA Cup Final in 3 years, they beat Manchester United 2-1 after extra-time in the other semi final

With a Cup Final on the horizon and European Qualification off the table, the league isn't my biggest concern, we had a tough end tot he season as well

BARCLAYS PREMIER LEAGUE
Cardiff City 1-0 Leicester City

View attachment 143744
Meret, Smalling, Burke, Dragovic, Zielinski, Green, Bazoer (Grant 74), Johansen, Duelund (Angerschmid 74), Oliver, Perovic

We dealt Leicester's Champions League hopes a fatal blow here as we squeezed past them with an injury time winner from Mitchell Grant. It was Grant's first goal for the club and Leicester had 3 players sent off for their protestations

BARCLAYS PREMIER LEAGUE
Cardiff City 2-2 Newcastle United

View attachment 143743
Meret, Smalling, Burke, Dragovic, Zielinski, Green (Grant 81), Bazoer, Johansen, Angerschmid, Oliver, Perovic (Werner 65)

I was disappointed not to win this one as we definitely deserved the three points but Ayoze Perez had other ideas as he smashed home a late equaliser

BARCLAYS PREMIER LEAGUE
Manchester United 2-0 Cardiff City

View attachment 143740
Meret, Gunter, Smalling 89, Burke, Nakagawa, Zielinski (Rossiter 50), Bazoer, Green, Oliver (Werner 69), Angerschmid, Perovic (Ilori 89)

We got off pretty lightly at Old Trafford against a team who have smashed all before them this season, winning the league by 17 points. Daniel Zielinski's injury will keep him out of the FA Cup Final against Stoke

BARCLAYS PREMIER LEAGUE
Cardiff City 2-0 Arsenal

View attachment 143739
Meret, Gunter, Bazoer, Dragovic, Nakagawa, Johansen, Rossiter, Green, Oliver (Duelund 72), Angerschmid, Perovic (Boyle 72)

A pretty good win to end the season and some great preperation ahead of the game against Stoke at Wembley. Soren Johansen, who Arsenal enquired about in January, got us off to a flyer early on and Dusan Perovic scored to put the game beyond Arsenal 25 minutes from time

Hello and welcome to the live coverage of the 2021 FA Cup Final which will be played between Cardiff City and Stoke City

This will be Cardiff's second Cup Final appearance in the past 3 years, their last on being the memorable 3-2 victory over Manchester United. Cardiff will be hoping to take the trophy out of England and into Wales for only the third time in its 140 year history

Stoke meanwhile, have never won the competition, with their best finish being as runner up to Manchester City in 2011, a match The Potters lost 1-0

THE LINE-UPS
View attachment 143696
Cardiff City play a 4-2-3-1 which has served them well in recent months while Stoke go for a more defensive approach, deploying a holding midfielder instead of a number 10

KICK OFF
View attachment 1060549
We're underway at Wembley, Cardiff in all blue kicking from right to left, Stoke in red and white stripes kicking from left to right
7th Minute-Berardi on the ball, beats one, he's clear of the defence, it's BERARDI! Saved

24th Minute-Green, out wide to Gunter who's overlapping, in field again to Green, back to Bazoer who drives it from range! Excellent save from Anthony Lopes
30th Minute-Slavchev dwells on the ball in midfield, he's tackled by Rossiter, Perovic picks it up, he drives forward, here's Angerschmid, whips it in for Perovic, knocked down for Green!!! Saved
45th Minute-Smalling makes a good interception, he plays it forward to Perovic, out wide to Green who plays the ball through for Bazoer... its Riechedly Bazoer, surely.. side netting

HALF TIME
Cardiff City 0-0 Stoke City
A tight game but Cardiff should be ahead

SECOND HALF
54th Minute-Long ball forward from Stoke, Berardi latches onto it, he takes a touch and whips the ball into the back post for Shaqiri! Saved, cleared by Nakagawa

79th Minute-Oliver stands over the corner, ball is played to the near post, brought down by Bazoer, he strikes it at goal! Blocked

FULL TIME

Cardiff City 0-0 Stoke City
A very tight match but Cardiff should have won this by now

EXTRA TIME
94th Minute-Oliver floats the corner into the box, Dragovic is up for it... he's pushed by Maguire! And the referee's given it!
95th Minute-Werner puts the ball onto the spot, he only came on a few minute ago and he now has a chance to write his name in Cardiff Cit folklore.. it's Lopez v Werner... GOAL! 1-0! Straight down the middle
98th Minute-Nakagawa, to Rossiter, back to Nakagawa, played infield to Bazoer, back out wide to Nakagawa, to Bazoer again, he feigns to shoot, plays it to ANDRE GREEN!!! He should have scored

106th Minute-Shaqiri loses Nakagawa, he runs to the byline, pulls it back.. its JAMES WILSON!!! 1-1!

HALF TIME
Cardiff City 1-1 Stoke City
Phew! What a match, and there's still 15 minutes to go!

SECOND HALF
111th Minute-Nakagawa with the throw, infield to Werner, he turns, finds Gunter, to Johansen who slips it through for ANDRE GREEN! He doesn't miss this time!!! 2-1!

FULL TIME
Cardiff City 2-1 Stoke City

Cardiff City have won the FA Cup for the third time in their history!

CASH TO BURN AS STAR TRIO LEAVE

View attachment 143258

Cardiff City have today announced 3 huge sales, with the three figures combining to make £108m

Unfortunately, there's a catch, with manager Matthew Hawkins losing three players who have been with the club for years

The first to go was Dutch international central midfielder Riechedly Bazoer, who has left the club after three years of service

Bazoer, 24, has left the Bluebirds and joined Manchester City for £47m, with the opportunity to rise to £56m

Bazoer, who joined the Bluebirds from FC Barcelona for £11.75m back in January 2019, has been sold amid his complaints towards manager Hawkins and his staff, claiming Cardiff could never reach the same level as Manchester City

The second player to leave was Serbian striker Dusan Perovic, who has joined Chelsea for £46m after the Londoners met his release clause

Perovic, 22, joined Cardiff from Serbian club Partizan Belgrade for £550,000 in 2017. He made 93 league appearances for Cardiff, scoring 23 goals

Hawkins said that it was with a "heavy heart" that he let Perovic go, who's scored 17 goals in 22 appearances for Serbia, but had no power over his future after Chelsea matched his release clause

The third to go was Danish international Soren Johansen, who has joined VfL Wolfsburg for £10m

Johansen, 24, joined Cardiff from FC Midtjylland for £165,000 but has been in and out of Cardiff's side since then

He made 45 league appearances for Cardiff, scoring 2 goals in 4 years. He has also made 13 appearances for the Danish national side

Hawkins said "I didn't plan to sell Soren at the start of the window, but £10m was too much to turn down"

Apparently this guy could become world class, what do you guys think? Should I get him? I can get him for around £11m

I'd have a gamble on him, my experience has taught me that South American regens usually become insanely good with a little first-team exposure and good coaching.

BLUEBIRDS SPLASH CASH ON BRAZILIAN TRIO
View attachment 143159

Cardiff City have today announced the signing of not one, not two, but three players, all of whom hailing from the spiritual home of football

The first to join Cardiff is centre back Jair, who has now become the club's record signing at £32m

Jair, 20, has joined the Bluebirds from Spanish giants Real Madrid on a 4 year deal

The wonderkid, who was born in the same city as Ronaldinho, has one cap for Brazil, is considered by many to be their future captain. He made 17 appearances for Real Madrid in La Liga

Cardiff manager said on the transfer: "Jair is someone we've been tracking for a long time and when we heard he was available, we just had to snap him up, or else someone else would"
View attachment 143158

The second Brazilian to join the Bluebirds was highly-rated left winger Zulu, who has joined from Atletico Mineiro for £11.5m

The 22 year old made 161 league appearances for Mineiro before a disagreement with management saw him leave the club, joining Cardiff as a backup

He scored 23 goals and had 39 assists in the league in Brazil over his career, which started when he was just 17. The fact Cardiff can sign a player of his standard to sit on the bench shows how far the Bluebirds have come
View attachment 143157

Last but certainly not least is Ferreira, another player brought in from Atletico Mineiro, this time joining for £7.5m

Ferreira, a player who can play on the wing, up front, or in behind the striker, came through the ranks at Mineiro at the same time as Zulu, making 160 league appearances for the club and scoring 71 goals

The 21 year old is quite the sensation at youth level as well, scoring 18 goals in 18 appearances for the Brazilian Under 20 side
