Who will turn out better in their peak?

So, I'm bored of the usual suspects as wonderkids and have decided to go out of my way and give some heavy emphasis on personal training, tutoring, individual focus and extra game time to two lesser known, or less main stream wonderkids on the game, both British.

So in one corner, on my 2014 save we have free kick specialist goal scoring midfielder Joe Mckee. In the other corner we have apprentice complete forward Luke James:

FIGHT!

Ok, not really, but basically I want to know who you think will turn out to be the better player by the time they both hit their peak. I also would like to know if you actually feel that they are wonderkids, and where you think I need to prioritise on training in their attributes to make them better. Some extra things to bear in mind:

  • Luke James has been tutored by Suarez and Kuyt in the past and has one PPM: Likes to beat the offside trap.
  • There is an age gap of 2 years, James being the younger one
  • Joe Mckee has been tutored by Gerrard and has 4 PPMs: shoots from distance, tries long range free kicks, shoots with power and dictates tempo.
  • Neither have had any loan moves, although they have both gotten roughly 20 league games a season + cup games. Both have started to score now and should be integrated permanently into my first 11 as of next season.

P.s when I'm training my players there are three things I generally really don't care in the world for: 1 when my scouts/ coaches rate them at on CA, 2 ditto for PA and star ratings, 3 using FMRTE or genie scout or any other tool to 'cheat' and see how good they will become.

Bump, vote and leave a comment if you want after seeing both screens.

I'll be updating this thread when both players are over the age of 25 to see how they turned out (figure improvement after that will be minimal).

Good idea dude

Luke James for me, McKee stays around the bsp in most of my games lol

Lol, well hopefully he's a bit above that standard already in the ss! Mckee I've known about for a while but Luke James is relatively new to me, how is he getting on in your save?

Looks a better rounded player than mckee and playing in the championship on my save
McKee is on a high wage in the bsp so probably shouldn't be in there lol

Train McKee to have 20 long-shots and pretty high finishing and composure and you have a the type of player I like to call Mascio.

Cheers for the feedback mate, dead heat so far in the votes. Mascio is not a term I'm familiar with so I'll plead total ignorance - Italian? How is this type of player meant to play?

Oh buddy, never mind, I've just come across this on the net and nearly wet myself laughing with this particular post on it:

[h=2]Re: Mascio - Real player?[/h]
Mascio isn't real.

He is an anomaly in the game, a random creation in the database -somewhat of a freak of computing nature. Some say he is the embodiment of FM - an attempt for the game to represent itself in playabale form. It's uncontrolled by the developers, the game is growing its own thought processes and abilities to imitate itself through its own free will.

What we are see here is the first step of artificial intelligence procreating - striving for the basic human wants of reproduction. Do not be fooled, 'Mascio' is the first hard evidence we have of technology growing apart from human control. The SI developers may well be at the forefront of science.

I would like to see these two pitted against each other, I have had Alan Ruiz turn into this before so he does have a lot of potential however, I recently found Torales (this is 3rd year in) and would like to see how he would develop from the start when being tutored by the likes of Gerrard etc... both ss below are from start of the 3rd season and have not been picked up by any clubs...

Torales starts at Nacional and Ruiz at Gimnasia :)

Luke James will come out on top!

At the way he looks now, by mid 20's he should be classed as a wonderkid (depending on how well your team do and rep etc)

A lot of people are thinking that way in the voting, which attributes do you think he needs to improve most on? He has just finished this season with 19 starts up front, 11 goals and 2 assists which isn't bad, but there were a fair few comments like "How did he miss that?", "that was a sitter", so for now finishing is my priority.

Cheers for the feedback, there are some good wonderkids there, I think this save will only be continued to see how these two turn out then I might do another comparison with some obscure ones!

team work and work rate are needed :)

These guys are pretty obscure for 80% of people :)

Mckee has low work rate and team work but has potential to drag your team back into a game with a bit of class but Luke James just has great balanced stats for a young age and looks like like he will improve alot. But based on the fact i like players that can turn a game with a bit of magic like a thunderbolt from outside the box or a great free kick, so i vote Mckee.

So, there's a votes difference in it so far. About a quarter of the way through 2014 and both are still developing quite well. McKee's passing is up to 15 now along with a couple of other less vital stats. James is slowly improving on everything particularly off the ball and anticipation but his finishing is yet to reach 15 yet which is what I really want.

Quick update on how they're both doing. Joe McKee actually seems to be pulling away a bit for now - he has actually genuinely established himself in my first team. I was kind of artificially giving them game time when I knew I had better players, but now McKee is genuinely my first team choice, and I think his game stats back up that decision:

I had trained him to up his passing, and it only took him 2 months from go to 14 to 16, so now it's all about getting those mental stats up (which particularly increase with age anyway). I'm just surprised that he hasn't hit an attributes ceiling yet or had a bad month.

Now then, Luke James. Feel he is stagnating a bit and his star attributes for PA are going mental, my coaches say he has 2.5 star then 3.5 then back down to 2.5 again. I have spent the best part of 6 months trying to get his finishing to improve but he doesn't seem to be having any of it, been stuck on 14 for too long and as a complete forward I still want to see him improve his passing and crossing.

I guess I'm happy with his goal haul and his goals have been important, but unlike McKee I really feel like I am forcing it - hard to justify a first team slot all the time for him with those attributes when he has competition from Giuseppe Rossi and Suarez upfront (Rossi has already had a ***** about lack of game time).

His saving grace is that he has two years to get to where McKee is at so I'm still hopeful for him.

Thoughts welcome.

Wow, Mckee is actually amazing now, kinda reminds me of Sigurdsson in the way that he can be a game changer with one touch.
