World Class players at your club

Well whatever club he has been at he has played excellently. and he seems to be doing that also with Spurs.

not really, he was **** at Madrid hense why they wanted rid of him? and Madrid only brought him because he was a rising "star"

he isn't world class what so ever.

No he struggled to settle in at Madrid because managers didn't want him there is a difference, when he played he was usally pretty good and played 58 games in 2 years so it isen't that bad. Just because you fail at 1 club in your carear dosen't take that away from you.

find it weird im agreeing with Ryan. Dont think 2 good performances in the EPL and a few seasons in the dutch league makes you world class.

You obviously haven't seen that much of van der Vaart play then...

He was never **** at Real Madrid, he was just unfairly treated, he was always coming of the bench scoring, but then dropped again which must have been very demoralising.
They didn't play him as they then bought Kaka and must have thought obliged to play him seeing the inflated price tag.

He was also top scorer for Hamburg 3 years in a row. From midfield

He is World Class and if he had been playing for Man Utd instead of us you would be saying this aswell.

P.S. - They also wanted rid of Robben and Snjeider, what does that tell you??

Don't usally agree with Spurs fans but your right.

Very good article about van der Vaart if anyone is interested.

8 Million Pounds For Van Der Vaart? What Were They Thinking?

Rafael van der Vaart’s departure from the Bernabéu was a shock to many of their fans. They, quite understandably, could not understand why a player who had the best ratio of goal scoring chances created per game in La Liga would be sold, and so cheaply as if to add insult to injury. It has been rumoured that the sale was carried out against Mourinho’s will, but anyone who remembers the self styled ‘Special One’ from his time at Chelsea would find that very hard to believe. The fans have made their feelings clear however, as Real Madrid shirts bearing the Dutchman’s name have outsold all others since his departure.

Perhaps this is not such a mystery after all. Harry Redknapp’s comments after Spurs’ victory over Aston Villa at the weekend were telling. ‘He goes where he likes,’ said the Spurs manager of his latest signing, ‘In a great way.’ And there is the key. Mourinho is a very strict, analytical manager who sends his players out with no doubt in their minds as to what their job is and with the knowledge that they should stick to the gameplan. This has proved exceptionally effective in the past and, given time, will no doubt do so at Real. Harry, on the other hand, has always maintained that football is a simple game where you put your best players in their best positions and allow them to perform. Van der Vaart is a maverick, and it was this philosophy of Harry’s which persuaded him that White Hart Lane was the place for him. One supects that had he stayed at Real he would have had Mourinho pulling his hair out, as so often happened with the equally free spirited Joe Cole at Chelsea.

None.

The only players that could become 'World Class', are Enrique, Ben Arfa and Carroll. Maybe Tiote, as he is showing promise, but still, all of them have a long, long, long way to go.
