how can u have henrick larsson he played in the scottish PL all of his life, the SPL id rubish and you have not included gaza, cruyff or even GEORGE BEST!!, cant have messi, ronaldo as they have only proved themself as a worldclass player for 2 or 3 years but they stilll both have the potenial o become the worlds greatest player but not yet, kaka and henry os a funny one as henry hasnt won world player of the years so how can he be the best player ever???, kaka has proved himself as a good player but you can only say if they are a great after they retire as then you can look back at there career and say hge was playing at the top for X amount of time,

I Think you should realy consider your list of candadates, and cruyff was a legend not only as a player but as a manager???? thats like not putting maradona or zidane up there???

could not agree with you more i would personally go for zindane because he was just class also the best in the world for a long time in his day ,mardona was world class before all the drugs ,but pele would be the best of all time he scored over 1000 goals in his career i think even more and that he scored in a world cup final at seventeen so i would say pele but also di stefano was up there ,what about jarzinho .

Firstly, it's Henrik, not Henrick. And he went to Man.U and Barcelona and proved himself there later on in his career. As soon as he left Celtic he had 36 contract offers from top teams all around the world. Considering he has more votes than Maldini, Brazilian Ronaldo, Rivaldo, Di Stafeno, Banks, Zoff, Buffon, Henry and Kaka, not such a silly choice. Secondly, I have - about three times, earlier on in the thread - already apologized for any omissions which may have occurred. Thirdly, it's not a poll about the greatest manager or the greatest player to do well as a manager. Fourthly, if Henry should not be included as he never won world player of the year, how many times did Gazza win that award? x
 
Shocked there were so many votes for Christiano Ronaldo..

I voted for pele... But such an impossible question...
Pele, maradona, zidane, Brazilian ronaldo were all clearly the very best in the world at what they did at their time

i agree with you in saying that gaza cruyff and georgie but larsson came to united and scored the winner in the FAcup against aston villa

Another problem is that the Peles and Di Stefanos of the world won't have been seen by most of us...
 
george best should take larssons place :/

imo i think its hard to say who was the best player of all time as things have changed like rules the quality of players and equipment

but for me i would say george best, pele then zidane
 
wheres George Best..hes easily better than any player there, bar possibly Maradona. Even Pele called him the best player ever
 
George Best, Dennis Law, Bobby Charlton, even Roger Weah are more deserving of being on this list rather than Ronaldo, Kaka, Larsson and Rivaldo. Rivaldo's career plummeted after his world cup acting. Larsson was a great player with an average team in a very ordinary league. And Ronaldo has just began showing glimpses of world class, the last two years the same with Kaka.
 
This whole discussion is actually pointless, because it´s impossible to correctly judge the habilities of players that played at distinct football eras - how is it possible to really compare Puskas, Garrincha, Pele, Best, Cruyff, Maradona and Zidane? - they´re all geniuses.

By the way, just my two bits of information:

Fat Ronaldo is the top World Cup scorer in history. That counts a little.

Pele never played in Europe, but the quality gap between the top european leagues and the leagues of South America only really began to show at the late 80´s. Just take a look at the brazillian teams of that time, that had the likes of Socrates, Rivellino, Zico, Junior, Tostão, Cerezo, Careca, and many, many others.
 
who is messi only some years in europe th henry has history...
