He gets my vote because he played in a way never seen before and has never been seen again.

You look at maradona messi plays similar. Look at pele brazilian ronaldo played in the same way.

No one is ever said to have the same playing style as zidane.

he was actually quiet slow yet always left players for dead. I think it was because he was more inteligent than anyone else.

Sad that i will never witness him play again. True madrista. Thakyou zidane

Also, if you're going to have that many players on the list Ricardo Bochini probably deserves to be there.

I just noticed Eusébio and Puskas are not on the poll. YET LARSSON IS? And there shouldn't goalkeppers, it must be a sepparate poll!

With all the players you guys have been suggested the list would have to span 3 pages. And if you really thought those players were the best players, then vote "Others", there's a reason it's there :P

Comparing strikers to midfielders to wingers is stupid
Not to mention defenders and goalkeepers don't even stand a chance

Batistuta, Totti, Inzaghi, Djalminha
 
My vote goes to O Fenomeno. The fact that, despite all he has won and achieved, people still wonder ' what if ' shows just how special he was. A tragedy his body was ruined by injury or there would be no need to discuss or debate anything. Easily the most naturally gifted all round player World football has or will ever see, thankyou for the memories Ronaldo.
 
Johan Cruyff is, in my opinion, by far the best football player ever.
He dominated the '70s, winning 3 Golden Balls , 3 European Cups, and God knows how many league and cup titles.
Also, he has been the biggest influence on total football, which we all know was history-changing game style.
Cruyff himself managed to make football into what we all watch on TV these days, turning it into a modern, smarter game.
A great captain, dribbler, striker, playmaker, later proved to be a great manager as well, missed only one thing to seal his greatness, a World Cup title.
And the '74 generation was unlucky enough to be the best World Cup team ever, and in the same time not to be able to win it.
Other than being a magician on field, Cruyff was a great person, so all in all, I'd go for him if I had the chance to pick.
