Wrexham - All Welsh Affair

Season Conclusion 2030/31

Despite a couple of heavy defeats to Arsenal and Man Ud, we end the season in pretty decent form.

Our final game at The Racecourse Ground ended in our biggest victory of the season, a 5-0 thrashing of Burnley. As it turns out this will be our last game at The Racecourse for a whole year....

We end the season in an incredible 10th place, 18 points above the relegation zone. It's definitely been a campaign to remember as we look to establish ourselves in the Premier League. With a squad that is still very young and plenty of prospects coming through the academy the future is starting to look good, but still a very long way to go before we get a European spot.

Our sponsorship and prize money have shot up drastically from last season and surely our reputation in English football.

Here is the best XI....

Lewis Webb has been incredible for us this season and the only decent Welsh Keeper currently knocking about. He managed to pick up both the "English Footballer" and "English Players' Player" of the Year. Not very often you see a goalkeeper pick up those accolades.

The Youth Facilities have now been upgraded and we can boast full state of the art facilities for the first time!

Whilst I have been pushing to build a new stadium, the owners have decided to undergo a 6,500 capacity expansion on the Racecourse Ground. As a result we will be playing next season in partnership with Stoke at the Bet365 Stadium.

Great season and I've never seen a keeper named player of the year! How are the finances looking after a few years of Premier League TV money?

Finances are starting to look extremely solid now and apparently we are 28th in the global financial status. Unfortunately we don't really have any players we can spend the money on apart from youth prospects.

Just before the summer break commenced we had another Euro Qualifier to get out the way, against our biggest group rivals, the Czech Republic. Despite having the home advantage and 45 minutes against 10 men, we failed to capitalise on our dominance and will now likely need to get the victory in the away fixture to top the group.

We have finally made it onto the top page in English club stature. Another season or 2 in the Premier League and we should be reaching the 3.5 star rating I'd say.

I was also offered the Atlético job, which could have been a very interesting role had I not been fully invested in my Welsh venture.

As the season approaches we are tipped as relegation favourites for the 3rd consecutive year, despite a 10th place finish last year. I doubt we can improve on that this year but we will give it our best go.

Having been unable to sign any players once again, here is the squad we will be going into the new season with.

I'm planning on giving some of the top youth prospects some game time this season in a bid to develop them into future wonderkids, as realistically these are the players that are going to take us to the next level both internationally and domestically in the future.

English Player of the Year, Lewis Webb has picked up an injury on the eve of the new season, leaving us in a spot of bother. Besides Webb there are literally no decent Welsh keepers, so am going to have to turn to a youth prospect....

16 year old, Adam Anthony, fresh out of the youth academy.

Now we do have some older keepers in the squad but they seem to be a similar level of ability and he I feel he has much more potential, so am throwing him in to the deep end... lets just hope he can swim (As you can see I also called him up to the Welsh National side as a result).

Despite our goalkeeping problems we have managed to get off to a very steady start. A big victory over newly promoted QPR and we really should have got all 3 points against Newcastle but for a late equaliser.

We then headed into the International break and managed a couple of unconvincing away victories against some so called "easy" opponents. The Czechs' continue to cause us problems and I really think we will need the victory against them in the return fixture.

Anthony becomes the youngest ever Welsh Player, beating Harry Wilsons record.

Considering he is only 16 and reportedly playing at National League level, he has performed incredibly well for in his 7 senior appearances this season. I'm delighted that Webb is now available for selection again, but I have high hopes for this new keeper.
