30 million US Dollars or Pounds? If it is Pounds I say do it.

As MUFC Rooney and RVP will be your first choice for the first 2 or 3 seasons. Chicharito is amazing as an AF and Angelo Henriquez could develop into a great player, in my game I eventually sold him to Madrid for GBP 40mil (he then scored 2 against me in the UCL Semi-Final...) but be sure to check his potential stars as it can vary.

I bought Mitrovic and he developed into a goal a game monster (48 in 48, gets a fair few from corners as well) so give him a look (also variable potential).
 
Welbeck is great and he was trained in United. I will never sell him at any price.

Good point, Welbz is dat guy.

My personal preference to use regens as much as possible and there are always soooo many delightful forwards available, but my kingdom for a useful goalkeeper! De Gea looks likely to be 1st choice until he dies in my game.
 
I have decided to keep him since only Spurs wanted him. I bought Chamberlain and Verratti ($25mil for both) to back up Florenzi and Shaqiri/Valencia. Not sure if I should sign Carrick since he wants $110k/week as a 33 year old...Any of you have had experiences with Wandaya since he's the only BWM I could buy at this point (Juve wants $70mil for Vidal) lol. Forgot to extend Vidic's and Rio's contracts but I've got plenty defenders so let's see how this season will go :)

Let me give you small tip how to avoid red cards.
Download those panels:

During the match I always observe the ammount of fouls of my players and specially those with yellow cards.
Also I watch at their Body Language. If you spot that someone has a yellow card, 3 fouls and hes nervous etc take him off.
Sometime I have match when Im changing Fellaini after 20 min because of that.
Try it :)

Thanks, Ill give it a try. I just feel so unlucky because its always the big games my players end up sent off.

I managed to win the the League Cup and Community Shield this year. I got pipped at the end of the season by Man UTD. They beat me in the FA Cup final and pipped me in the league last game of the season. How annoying!

Been using these tactics for a few weeks now best by far wasn't really enjoying fm14 until i used Xper's tactics pure class !
 
Thought I'd share my current run with you guys.

Been using this 442 for the last few in-game weeks and am very happy. I'm playing the Classic version and have three teams (old habits die hard - My first FM save is always with Liverpool, Marseille and Milan. Been that way ever since multiple leagues were introduced to the series).

I am having a particularly pleasant run of results atm.
10/12 Marseille - Chelsea (CL) 4-1 (using v4 away).
14/12 Lyon - Marseille (L1) 1-2 (using v4 away).
14/12 Liverpool - Chelsea (PL) 5-1 (using v4 away).
15/12 AC Milan - Chievo (SA) 4-0 (using v4a home). Switched to 4a away when 2-0 up at 65 mins.
17/12 Marseille - PSG (CdL) 4-0 (using v4a home). Switched to 4a away when 3-0 up at 30 mins. Jordan Ayew scored all four.
17/12 Liverpool - Chelsea (LC) 1-1 (5-3 pen). Used v4a home in first half, changed to v4 away. I guess it was optimistic to think Moo would fall for the same trick three times in one week...

This tactic seems to get the best out of Sturridge and Suarez, which has been a challenge with other tactics I have tried. The sad part is that I don't feel I get to utilize Coutinho and Sterling properly, but maybe that will come as they get more used to playing ML/MR. I am not used to playing classic mode, does repositioning happen with time as in the old days? I can't retrain them to a new position as far as I can tell.

I still truggle with Milan's forward. Robinho has started to perform as the deeper of the two, but not adequately yet. Balotelli is useless, no matter what I do.

Valbuena is excellent as MR but the star of the show is Jordan Ayew. He is fantastic as AF and has 23 goals in 25 matches this season. My sole regret as far as OM goes is that Dimitry Payet is not really getting the hang of the MR role, but I hope he'll come through. He was excellent in the first part of the season, when I was playing 4231. I can't wait to get Andre Ayew back from injury, he's been out for three months.

High mate was using our original tactics for a while, but have not played FM for while what are the differences with V4, and which do you recommend with UTD?

No. I see no reason for that as v4a works great :)

Only half way into 2nd season and I already conceded more than whole of previous season, gotta go back to v4 Away I guess :(
