First game, just plug and played, playing Ipswich in PL.... 4-4 draw with Swansea
 
wow wow wow, been struggling to make a good 4-4-2 for a while so tried this and some great results with a very mediocre team.
I am finding that using the away tactic a lot better with me being the underdog in nearly every game, i tried the home against Watford and lost but tbh i was the better team so switched back to the away tactic.


Now that's what a striker should do!!!!

Same as every other tactic in the sense that opposition corners = OP

Cant help it just keep conceding, scores have gone to pot

Just lost 4 on the bounce....

Also finding the away tactic has a lot more success for me! But going to persevere with the home one as I am outshooting every team just cant get CCCs
 
Great job.
I had been playing with my own 442 tactic in patch 14.2.0 with great success.
Then suddenly my tactic started to lose and draw quite a few games in 14.2.1, which I don't understand as there was no engine update.
So I was looking around for a 442 that I could temporarily switch to, and I came across yours.
So far have played 4 games, scored 18 and conceded 0.
I'm seriously tempted to scrap using my own 442 and just use yours from now on.
 
Just beat City 4-1 in the league then drew 1-1 with them away from home in the FA cup then beat United 3-1 at home...... what the **** are these results! Used the away tactic for all these games, very very good underdog tactic!

In the replay beat City 3-1 in extra time..... they must hate me

XPer.. as i promised jassar, im about to test your tactic as well :) Im almost done with the 1st season with United and it seems like im going to win the EPL unbeaten. Already won the capital one cup and just beated barcelona in the CHL. I will post screens when the season is over. But maybe one of the best 442 i have been testing with United, also including the ones jassar send me.
Im gonna test it with leverkusen afterwards to see if it works with a team that doesnt have the same amount of depth in squad.
 
But then again as i also wrote in jassars thread.. it seems to me that some teams is reacting SIGNIFICANT better to some formations than others, no matter wich players you have bought. 442 and 4-2-4 is by far the best formation on manchester united, not even if you play it on manchester city you will get the same results. And in my opinion Manchester united doesnt have the best squad in the game at all.

Yes that is true. When you take control over new club on first meeting with the stuff you are informed about preffered formation
(same on every club profile). Peoples don't pay big attention to that - they just download tac with best opinion on the forum or tac that they think should be good for players they like.
Its quite obvious that "Best" classic 442 tactic will work better for Man Utd then for FC Barcelona or other team that have totally different playing style from decads. That's why Im so addicted from this game, ignoring all problems and bugs with current release its still **** good football sim.
I never claim that this tactic will be plug&play winning all competitions tac for all. Im just a big fun of United and classic English game style that's all :)

However it's nice to see that it's working good also for others including underdogs.

Wise words! :-)) im also united fan and love 442 formations. But i will post some screens later with end of seasons stats.
And then i will run a test with a smaller club. i did use my own 4-2-4 the first half of the season with united, and then i changed to yours to try it out. it seemed better defensivly , even tho i already won every single game almost.

And yes... not many people pay attention to the prefered formations when they start a new game.

EPL won after 34 games. still undefeated.
And VAN PERSIE won Ballondorr at the start of the game.
Remember this is 1st season with no signings at all. So full default squad.
I used my own 424 at the first half of the season, and then i changed to xper's after like 15-16 games. And it kept winning.
3 trophies so far , and im still in the CHL.
So a pretty balanced and working tactic, both home and away! completly dominating almost every single home match.
Away matches seems pretty solid as well. I did beat City, chelsea, liverpool and arsenal with like 2-3 goals margin away.
