Your England World Cup Starting 11

I think the op team is awful tbh :/
no gerrard or lampard? wtf!? :O
barry is highly overrated imo :)

Gerrard and Lampard have never achieved for England compared to what they have done for Liverpool and Chelsea respectively. If they actually do something for England, I would put them in straight away...

Hart
G.Johnson - Terry - Ferdinand - A.Cole
Carrick - Barry
SWP - Gerrard - J.Cole
Rooney

although I can see Capello playing Joe Cole on the right, Gerrard on the left and Rooney playing behind Crouch.

J.Hart
G.Johnson J.Terry R. Ferdinand A.Cole

G.Barry
T Walcott S.Gerrard
F.Lamapard

W.Rooney J.Defoe

GK: Hart
RB: Johnson CB: Ferdinand CB: Terry/Lescott LB: Ashley Cole

RM: Lennon/A.Johnson CM: Gerrard/Lampard CM: Barry/Parker LM: A.Johnson/Milner

ST: Defoe ST: Rooney

A. Johnson could be an impact sub, as could Lennon on the right. Likewise on the other flank. Plus versatility allows the wingers to swap which could cause havoc.
Some people might want to include J. Cole but I think the ideal set up for England is 4-4-2 which wouldn't fit Joe Cole in very well. Could be a good impact sub in the centre or out wide though.
Terry I think will have a poor world cup. Just been sent off and has been playing dreadfully recently (it's his own fault the *****) and can't see him recovering in time. Give Lescott or Upson a chance.
I don't think Parker will go to the world cup. But I hope he does, he's quality. Better than Barry IMO. I'd have him starting in the engine room.
Defoe's better than Crouch IMO, and we don't really need to play the ball up top such is the creativity and fluidity in the system with Gerrard/Lampard and the wingers in. With Glen Johnson and Ashley Cole supporting the attack I really think this England team (mine or Capello's)! could be a real force in this world cup. COME ON ENGLAND!

4-2-3-1, utilising the MCd as a sweeper

GK: Hart

RB: Johnson
DC: Terry
DC: Ferdinand
LB: Cole

MCd: Carrick
MCa: Barry

AMR: Lennon
AMC: Lampard
AML: Milner

FC: Rooney

use a 3 man defence, where the mcd drops into the defensive line, with the mca as balling mid further up the pitch, ahead of him the amc hold position and creating lots of passes, with the AML/AMR pushing up along side the FC and the full backs overlapping wide. with the ball in the final third you have a 5 man attack, and a 6th supplying but you are string against the counter cos the ball winning mid protects the centre circle and the dc and the mcd create a 3 man defence prevent the strikers getting a two on two.

there are so many options, but in an ideal world;

GK: David James (experience is crucial in the latter stages. give Hart a couple vs weaker sides. Green is not up to it.)

DR: Glen Johnson. (there's no one else. it's that simple.)

DL: Ashley Cole (Leighton Baines if he struggles for fitness)

DC: Rio Ferdinand (in rotation with Ledley King, due to each other's injury worries)

DC: Michael Dawson (Terry has been in unreliable form)

DefensiveMC: Scott Parker (more fight than Gareth Barry or Michael Carrick)

DeepMC: Steven Gerrard (it's the place he was born to play, never mind the egotistical Bomb-on Gerrard. play for the team, cover for Johnson)

AMC: Frank Lampard (30+ goals this season. 'nuff said)

FWL: Theo Walcott (cutting in from the left will make sure he doesn't run into blind alleys like when he's on the right. worth a shot)

FWR: Aaron Lennon (both wings with brick-******** pace)

FC: Wayne Rooney (duh)
