    4-4-2: Control and Attack Space

The tactic is designed to get the best out of the advanced forwards. He has 5 players (winger, WP, fullback, support striker, CM) all feeding him passes. You can expect a lot of goals from him - helps if he is tall and good at heading because of the crossing element.

nothin fixed, case by case for CL knockouts if there is a particularly dangerous player

Indeed it does. But you will want the right types of players (especially in terms of footedness).

    4-4-2: Control and Attack Space

I have been using a version of this since FM 19, made a similar thread about it then as well - it works very well on FM 20 as well, I made a thread over on SI forums, as well as tried it myself and got some friends to try it. But more than just results (which can easily be achieved through ME...

4-4-2 - Modern (Control and Attack Space)

From my screenshot below, even my RBs had a total of 9 crosses with 0% completion. My take on it is the following: 1. Even for my attacking RBs, I prioritize defensive stats, so they aren't amazing at crossing (what is the quality if your RBs?) 2. A lot of it depends on the striker - is he...

4-4-2 - Modern (Control and Attack Space)

Below is a screenshot of a recent match against Chelsea, which is a great example to better illustrate the type of play the tactic creates, as well as the profile of players needed (note: my support striker here is a left footed PF(s), a regen) For reference, here is my main striker: Pietro...

4-4-2 - Modern (Control and Attack Space)

FYI, I have decided to drop the false 9, and revert to a PFs/DLFs, depending on the player also, the 4-1-4-1 is a good option against both the 4-2-3-1 and the 4-4-2, I’ve found

4-4-2 - Modern (Control and Attack Space)

I'm trying to upload the .fmf file using mediafire but it's not showing up, not sure why... I'm not really good at this stuff. Anyway for the 4-1-4-1 you can use screenshot to build it, player instructions should be based on the players you have, not something generic. The 4-4-2 mirror...

Apologies, the previous screenshot had the cursor covering the tactic. The RB should be a WB(s).

Thank you for trying out the tactic and posting results. Also, excellent choice in selecting Milan, the greatest club there ever has been or will be. In terms of advice: 1. Honestly, for how early it is in the season, and the squad you have, the results are pretty good. Draw to Napoli away is...

4-4-2 - Modern (Control and Attack Space)

Update: Second season with the Milan team done (2019/2020). Result: Champions League (Won), Serie A (Won), Italian Cup (Semi Finals, Loss). Squad average age is just 22. Season Overview: Going into the second season, I decided to continue focusing on a youth only policy, as I always do in...

4-4-2 - Modern (Control and Attack Space)

Thank you for trying out the tactic and posting back. Shadow striker instead of Pressing forward sounds very interesting indeed. I might have to give it a go myself. Do you still combine him with an advanced forward? Using two attack duty players together in attack is a bit unconventional, but...
