1000 Goals

A few years back someone managed it in the Irish leagues I think on FM, vaguely recall reading something about it on the SI forums

No, Pele scored over 1200 goals.

People use this argument all the time, but you have to remember that the Brazilian National Team in those days was (some say still is) the best team to ever grace the game, and all of those players were playing in the Brazilian leagues. The difference in quality of Europe and South America was nowhere near as big as it is today, and 1200 goals is an amazing achievement for a players career.

Also, not sure who mentioned it - but they didn't include his youth team goals. They include every competitive goal since he turned professional (aged 16 in those days). They don't even include club friendlies (I presume they do include International Friendlies).
 
Josef Bican scored 607 goals in 406 games (league games only).

Ridiculous record 3 goals every 2 games.

Truly FM-esque stats.

best player on my game is a regen names Kamal Yilmaz, has had 3 half season due to injury but apart from that has banged them in every season since he was 18 (now 30).

He's currently on 525 professional goals wih probably another 3 or 4 years of goalscoring ability to go so very much doubt he will make it unless he repeats his feats of last season.....65 goals in 51 games!

If you want a screenshot of him just ask

Why ppst a screenshot of someone who is 475 goals away from 1000? Thats not even close and woulb be better suited to show off your regen thread.

because its an example of the best striker i have ever found not even getting close to it...highlighting the difficult challenge...someone asked for a screenshot so i provided one

so maybe your comment would be best suited to the know your role thread
 
to archieve that goals you mustn't have any injuries for many years!!!!
 
In reality there are very few players to score over 1000 goals, and the only ones I can recall played in South America (ie Pele & Arthur Friedenreich). The Brazilian league wasn't as strong defensively so it was possible back then. Also, nowadays there is a far greater emphasis on fitness and careers are forced to end at a younger age generally.

I would suggest that it isn't possible to do on FM without some form of cheating or manipulation of the match engine (eg corner exploitation tactics etc). At the very least you'd need a world class striker who is v very good at penalties and freekicks too.

There is some controversy over the validity of the 1000 goals as it claim is somewhat inaccurate, because Romário's research team counted his goals in junior, friendly and non-official games.

I think Puskas did it too, but there are questions over the validity of everyone who claims to have done it
 
yeah was just checking the show of your regen page and soo your kamal yilmez player he does ndeed score 65 goals in 51 games however my yaya sanogo has score 80plus goals for the past two seasons however i need a good training scheme that will improve him(btw his 25 on my game) will post a screenie but im on my laptop maybe l8tr i will post it
 
Ok, 1000 goals is possible if you create a player 200/200 at 16 years old from the start of the game.

I often create myself this way, a 16 year old striker 200CA/PA from the start. Currently in December in the 9th season (where my player will turn 25 at season's end) my player had 422 league goals so far - add the goals in other comps and it totals 712 goals already in 8 and a half years.

If most players can (in the game) play at a high level up to and including the age of 33, then my player has another 8 and a half years to go - the same amount of time his career has already progressed so theoretically is capable of another 712 goals which would comfortable pass 1000 goals.

in FM10 i got Dzeko at UTD
he became the clubs record goalscorer with around 750+ by the time his stats fell of a cliff
