some matches were absolutely nonsense like the one we lost 4 - 0, but hey, this is FM :'D

I'm sitting first (media prediction 7th) 7 points above the second and I can't complain, this tactic is amazing and will be the one i'll use for me long-term save

also, this little guy here is on fire:

cheeers :P (this tactic needs more consideration)

yes but more effective at home

How are you losing away? Give me some details and I'll see if I can help you. What team are you using? How are you conceding goals? Are you scoring goals away? Do all the players match the tactical roles exactly or could you change them a little? How are your team talks working out? I'd be more than happy to help you.

But as I said in the OP, this is about a style of play and if you don't have the players to measure up to the roles, then it won't work. You can't play a TM in the Poacher role just because they're both strikers. It won't work.

I'll help you as much as I can ;)

Why do you use central-right side in attacking manner and vise-versa defending central-left?

Whilst it doesn't really matter what side you play each role on, the Regista will naturally push forwards, so it makes sense to play him on the same side as the Treq as he then has space to move into when the Treq drifts around. Likewise, you don't want to play the F9 on the same side as the Treq as they may just overlap which kind of negates the point ;)

Very interesting tactic.

I've been on and off this thread for the last few days; checking up on it and I've been really wanting to give it a go. However, I was in the middle of a season and didn't want to just change tactics - I've just finished the season so I'll implement it and see how it goes. I'll be Everton and in the Champions League thanks to an impressive first season:)

I finally lost a league game :( 3rd season in and I lost to West Brom 2-1......disaster! :D

how do you deal with the inevitable exploitation of the wings? because surely, if you play a team on a wide pitch and they stretch you out, you come undone? or do you have super WB/FB's to counter this?

Really like the look and sound of this tactic gonna give it a go with man city, hopefully will help me create a great legacy, will keep you updated with my progress.

You do need very good CWBS to cover the wings, yes. Although the team instructions are set to Press More so that the midfielders and CWBs will pressure the opposition high up the pitch and force them into making long passes

Here's an example of how the defence copes with opposition wingers. 1 is the CWB, 2 is the Regista who has pushed across the field to cover inside and 3 is the Trequartista tracking back

right, i had a stab with this tactic with my kryponite team, Spurs, i have never been able to get decent results with them since my championship manager days. The vast majority of tactics rarely work. BUT, this tactic suits very well, i played the friendlies and first prem game, i usually would have conceded about 10 goals and probably would have just snatched victories (yes, i am quite awful with spurs aha). Anyway, i first went about to get a new LB, so i managed to snag luke shaw, then walker kept getting injured, so i invested in montoya from barcelona, and as a little treat i got Pato, then i went on a spring cleaning of the reserve squad and half of the unused first team, for financial reasons etc. Her is the screenie of my results thus far:

as you can see, goals galore! i know it's only a handful of games, but i must say, very impressed!

Notable mentions:

Luke Shaw ~ Absolute machine, always in the right place, already scored 5 goals (hat trick in his first game) and he is one of the two players who set up goal opportunities.

Sigurson ~ I have him in the AMC role and my word does this tactic make him shine, he is the other "play maker" of sorts, Luke shaw and sigurson, for this tactic are a must have, in my eyes.

Pato ~ His stats are the best for a poacher, but they lie, teamed up with soldado up front, he is perfect for those counter attack plays and through ball as the recipient, he has brought the Brazilian flair with him big time already.

This tactic has brought the beautiful game to FM, the passing, the shooting and the team work! The lowest rating of a player i have received thus far is 7.9, the highest being 9.5 and it averages out at 8.5.. which you can't complain about!

Great work matey, i'll post some more screenies when i advance in the season.

I'm glad you enjoy it, thanks for the positive feedback! Luke Shaw is a great fit for the CWB.

I think Pato could easily play in either of the front roles, but his fitness levels always scare me off.

have to say im loving this tac so far with real cr7 is banging them in nice work

Hi rothordegilian,

I'm gonna try your tactic in AC Milan any tips?

That looks pretty good. I'd be slightly worried about de Jong in the air (he needs to act as a centre-back sometimes) and I'd personally play Montolivo as the Regista (he's more creative). Good luck! :)
