I have to say the whole Ghana situation is embarrassing.. It is all about money and appearance fee's with the Ghanaian president having to send over 1.7million on a plane as they refused a bank transfer

For some strange reason this seems to be a case with some African nations. Cameroon have previously fallen out over bonuses to be paid.
 
Ghana midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng says he and team-mate Sulley Muntari were "joking around" before they were sent home.
Boateng told German magazine Sport-Bild: "Sulley Muntari and I were just joking around and the coach [Kwesi Appiah] stopped the session and sent us back to the changing room.
"Afterwards I went to the him and asked what he had against me and he started yelling. He insulted me."
A statement on the Ghana FA website said both players had "been suspended indefinitely".
Boateng said he accepted his suspension but seemed to dispute the reasons the Ghana FA gave for it.
"No one should think I insulted the coach," he said. "I'm travelling now and I wish my colleagues all the best for Portugal game.

To be fair though, not everyone in the African squads is Eto'o or Yaya Toure ... Some of the players genuinely earn very little compared to the big guns and every cent counts for them especially once you consider that their career is done at the age of 35 and they probably won't command lucrative contracts in Asia, US or the Middle East towards the end of their careers

9 game ban for Suarez - 4 months banned from football. Longest ever ban FIFA have given for a footballing incident (if you can call it that)

I think the ban is fair.

Only thing i would have looked at is making it a longer international ban and a shorter domestic one seeing as it happened on the international stage

Meh banning him for any longer internationally is hardly going to have any effect as he is already out of the World Cup and Copa America' ... Any longer than 9 matches and he will just be sitting out friendlies which I am sure he would be only too happy to do

How does it matter which stage it is on though? If you really want a ban to hurt, you need to make sure he is away from football, the thing he loves, for a prolonged period of time. The only way to do that is to ban him domestically as well
 
So, he will miss out on 12 club games and 9 international. Tbh i was expecting him to get away with it cheap, but it's a fair punishment. Any bets on how much will he get for the 4th time, because i doubt he can contain himself.
Top class player, pathetic human being.
