All my players have at least 15 pace, with the exception of Sakho who has 14. The goals i conceded were all when my opponents played a quick 1-2 and got clean through or passed it through to the by line and crossed and scored. Any other ideas?

current lineup is;
Cech
Bosingwa Otamendi Sakho Cole
Essien Hamsik(Pjanic)
Gervinho Hulk
Aguero Torres

i dont use any players like hamsik/ pjanic in center mid. i use 2 ball winners but the better 1 going forward on the left

Just to add to what cragswfc said I wouldnt advise using two out and out flair/creative type players in the middle as you simply wont recover the ball. If you want to push it i would use say one flair type player and one creative ball winner (carrick/ mvilla/ alonso). At the moment i am using Mvilla and Pastore and i can pretty much hold possesion against any team. However the tactic will always work best if you have 2 solid ball winning mids without much flair (eg Song/ Mascherano/ Diarra)

Furthermore i would also advise you to split your wingers. Have one winger who naturally bombs forward ( nani/neymar/young) and another winger who is equally useful in defence and holding position ( modric/ nasri/ park/ ozil). This will help the balance of the tactic and you will score more goals as you will have more possesion. If i play a team like arsenal who are fast i use fast wingers against them, if i am playing a slower team like chelsea i will use wingers who are more comfortable in possesion so they dont get dominated by strong oppostion players.
 
Jimmy, I'm with ManUTD, who would you suggest to use in the middle area and what about the wingers? Thanks dude.

He goes around testing tactics with Man Utd, and can't find one that works, so he's in a hissy fit. I think it's not the tactics that he needs to look at, but other areas of his management.

Do not make me laugh. Long ago found three tactics to great writing down (goalstorm Sahar Universal Grom, Watkins Boombastic)
Il devasto of 11.3 is low.
I know what I write because

alright mate. I would go with fletcher lcm and carrick rcm as you have carrick who will sit back and dictate play whilst fletcher will get slightly further forward and make more through balls in. However if you want to be a bit more attacking anderson at lcm and carrick at rcm should work just fine.

As for the wings i would go with nani and valencia for most games only because they are quick which will counter most threats against other teams. Perhaps if you are playing barca/chelsea etc play nani and park as park will be a bit more defensive on the wing.

I lined up as pastore (lcm) and mvilla ( rcm). Pastore was the creative attacker and mvilla was the creative defender.
I had modric (rw) and nani/young (lw). Nani was free to bomb forward and modric is naturally a bit more defensive so was able to bomb forward and track back to help out my midfield too!
 
I have used the original version of this tactic for 2 season. I am with Man City and in the 1st season i finished 6th in the League, Won the League Cup and Won the FA Cup, lost in the 2nd knockout round of the Euro Cup.
Star player without a doubt was Mr Teves..........50 games, 56 goals, 11 assists........average rating 7.81

My second season was more successful:

Teves and Balotelli
